I really believe that it is not FEAR that the Bible is referring to but REVERENCE or RESPECT. I never feared my parents, but you better believe I had a healthy respect for their rules and I was aware of the retribution that would come when I disobeyed them. But if I truly feared my parents... Dearest Jessica, Even it you do not consider oral copulation to be the same as sex or sexual intercourse, admittedly it is lustful or lascivious behavior. Therefore there is no support and actually only warnings against lascivious (lustful) behavior in the Scriptures. It is good to hear that you will be marrying. Yet dearest Jessica, save yourself for that day. Your virginity can only be given away one time. I do not say this in a manner to make you feel low or put down. I just always desired that I had the choice to give away my virginity to the man that I love and am now married to. I lost my virginity when I was 7 and it was not by choice, and my abuser did in fact force oral copulation upon me. Even at 7 yrs of age, I knew it was not what God desired for me. (this is not written to elicit anyone's pity so please no obligatory responses -thx) Yet Jessica I will tell you, God blessed me with my husband who chose to give himself in marriage, and one of the greatest gifts he ever gave me was his purity and virginity. The Bible does speak out against all behaviors of lust and lasciviousness. 2 Corinthians 12:21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed. Mark 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Ephesians 4:19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. Are we disciples of Christ, I hope so. Mere confession or profession of discipleship does not make a disciple or insure them a place in the Kingdom. Loving "SERVICE" with truth and humility shows greatness. We need our hearts to be annointed with the Holy Spirit of God in order to kindle Love, that looks for NO reward or recognition, but gives Glory to God. He Loves us so much He gave Jesus, His only Son for us! Jesus a sacrificial Lamb, who died for us because He Loved us, when we were yet sinners. Jesus laid aside His Divinity, His Royal Heritage to take the form of a "SERVANT". Christ had come to wash the stain of sin from the hearts of mankind. We must bring our sinful pollouted hearts into contact with Christ's Heart to rid ourselves of evil temper, vanity, lust, pride... etc, because He alone can wash us clean. His whole life was under a law of "SERVICE" if you will. He served all, ministered to all, and thus He fulfilled God's law and by His example, showed how we are to obey. The only greatness is in humility, the only distinction is found in "SERVICE" to others. We are to help and bless one another. Our lives to be given to unselfish ministry, because the world is full of those who need our ministry; The poor, the helpless, and the ignorant are everywhere and needing to know that Jesus came that they may have Life and that more abundantly! He is the Bread of Life. A light in darkness. He came seeking the lost. - *Gloria Dunn* This is what it means to me to be a disciple today. Hello Dear Readers, As you know I took a little hiatus a total fast and prayer fest. I was feeling a bit tired I think. But tuning out everything and taking in for food and water, the Word alone, the Bread of Life, I must tell you I feel like more than a conquerer! So I just wanted to submit a verse of encouragement. Because we all get a bit weary from time to time, but God never will! Isaiah 40:28 -31 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. I feel marvelous! -Kathy |

Hi Ed, Whatever indeed:) Each post that you mention, bears my name. I apologize if my intent is confusing... but if you just scroll through the notes, there are more than just a few post under the topic: "Kathy, Is Lifting His name Biblical?" As you are aware, recent post have moved away from that subject and yet they all have the same topic, bearing my name. As I said, it was a vain attempt to remove my name from post regarding subjects that are far from what I believe and yet they are indirectly connected to me. It's just me... and you know what, I did not write it to start yet another "thang". It seems that even if I crawl across broken glass, and approach in all humility, I am rarely understood here, in word or deed. You once said that I was too humble, but I just refuse to believe there is such a thing for a human to be. If anything mankind lacks to much humility, and I should seek to be even more humble. There is no such thing as being too humble:) Not in view of the humility of God. and I am not that humble. Alas, once again I apologize for my apparent offensiveness. I meant no insult to you or anyone. Aniset, Indy, and Searcher, I hope you take no offense. And if you do, let me once again apologize. Hiatus time!!! Time to get on my knees and let God knock the dents out of my armor. It is time to go to God's Feast and eat the Bread of life to feed my tired spirit with the Word that gives Life. It is time to take a little hiatus and just let my Father comfort and shed His Love upon me. Don't count me out... I will return. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Dear Ed, I added it here because it was last response bearing my name. I gave my reasons, and if you check the notes, people are still posting to this thread. Yet since your post to this note... someone else has added a note to it. I am sure God will let the right purpose go forth. I asked in the most sincere way possible and explained in the best of my ability... I have no idea what more you require from me in response to your post. As I said it seems so derisive, when a my name is appearing in all manner of post as the topic. I did humbly admited that it was probably more of a self serving request, and therefore my Brother, the choice is yours if you choose to continue to post to the thread that bears my name. Is "Lifting His name" Biblical? Obviously none of these responses have anything to do with my name, since the question was in regards to lifting Jesus' Name. Therefore I hope with the blessing of the forum participants no one will mind if I change this back to it's original query topic line, and I humbly ask if we choose to post to the topic it will start again from this point. Yes, it is just my personal preference, but seeing my name over and over again under so many different circumstances, is beginning to seem derisive. My Pastor once broke down translation of the verse of your testimony: He put it this way to bolster our confidence that Jesus is was Always there for us. He said, "No, Never, NOT EVER, I will Never leave you, nor will I ever forsake you! Keeping to my theme (smile) this is the song your testimony brings to my heart: Amazing Grace will always be my song of praise, For it was Grace that brought my liberty.
