41 | Are we looking for a way or the Way? | Matt 7:13 | BibleVerse | 143565
(1 John 2:15-17 NIV) Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (16) For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world. (17) The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. |

44 | Where in the bible-living in end times? | Matt 24:7 | BibleVerse | 145842
What indicates that we today are living in “the last days”? The Bible describes events and conditions that mark this significant time period. “The sign” is a composite one made up of many evidences; thus its fulfillment requires that all aspects of the sign be clearly in evidence during one generation. The various aspects of the sign are recorded at Matthew chapters 24, 25, Mark 13, and Luke 21; there are further details at 2 Timothy 3:1-5, 2 Peter 3:3, 4, and Revelation 6:1-8. |

49 | Paul discourages marriage? | 1 Cor 7:1 | BibleVerse | 142337
The Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Bible, says: “Most, if not all the apostles had been married, as Peter certainly was.” In evidence of Peter’s marriage, this Catholic book cites two texts: Matthew 8:14 and 1 Corinthians 9:5. The first speaks of Peter’s “mother-in-law.” In the second Paul says: “Have we not . . . the right to take a Christian woman round with us, like all the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?”—The Catholic Jerusalem Bible. As indicated in this Bible verse, who had wives? “The other apostles.” “The brothers of the Lord.” “Cephas.” Who was Cephas? None other than the apostle Peter, who the Catholic religion teaches was the first pope - and Paul said Peter was married. The Roman Catholic Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Bible, referring to the Bible writings of Jesus’ apostles, says: “St. Paul makes it quite clear that no Christian is obliged to practice v. [virginity].” It adds: “Celibacy of the clergy is nowhere demanded... in the NT [New Testament].” The Doc presents a reasonable view of 1 Cor 7:1-2. |

50 | Why should Man not cover his head? | 1 Cor 11:7 | BibleVerse | 180297
The apostle shows, conversely, that the man should not wear a head covering when taking the lead before the congregation, as when praying or prophesying. It is his normal position under God’s arrangement. For the man to wear a head covering in these instances would bring shame upon his own head. It would also indicate disrespect for Jesus Christ as his head as well as for the Supreme Head,God for man is “God’s image and glory,” originally made as God’s representative on earth. He should not obscure this fact by wearing a head covering. The man was created first, prior to the woman; the woman is “out of man” and was created “for the sake of the man.” Her qualities are an expression of the man’s honor and dignity, just as the man’s qualities are a reflection of the honor and dignity of God. Therefore the Christian woman should be happy to acknowledge her subordinate position by the modesty and subjection she displays, and she should be willing to represent this visibly by wearing a veil or other material as a head covering. She should not try to usurp the man’s place but should, rather, uphold his headship.—1Co 11:4, 7-10.
51 | what are the gifts of the God | 1 Cor 13:2 | BibleVerse | 170775
There were certainly many gifts from God's spirit... i.e. speaking in Tongues. However, the apostle Paul makes a strong point under inspiration in the last verse of 1 Cor:12: "But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way." - 1 Cor 12:31 The very next verse in the very next chapter shows the 'greatest' gift! 1 Cor 13:1 "If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal." Love was also extolled as foremost by Jesus Christ. And, he instructed us how to display it (for as we know actions speak louder than words) when he answered this question: "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? And He [Jesus] said to him, 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' - Mt 22:36-39 The ultimate importance of this gift to display love is found in 1 John 4:8 "He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love." (Amplified Bible) |

52 | What does Galatians 1:1-2 mean | Gal 1:1 | BibleVerse | 149129
Could you be more specific - is there something in particular that you are wondering about? Gal 1:1 Paul alludes to his special assignment (appointment) from Jesus to preach God's kingdom to all (Jew and Gentile alike). In Gal 1:2 in some translations, Paul mentions that it is of no special value [anymore] if someone were to get circumcised, which WAS a requirement under the Law covenant with the Israelites.

56 | Where is Satan? | Rev 12:9 | BibleVerse | 159549
Satan is raoming about the earth and since the events of Revelation, is confined to the earth: 9And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, The fact that every translation has Satan answering God shows there's no reason to think that Satan wasn't talking with God. Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? (WEB) Then Satan answered Jehovah, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? (ASV) And the Satan said in answer to the Lord, Is it for nothing that Job is a god-fearing man? (BBE) And Satan answered Jehovah and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
