21 | where was Saul hiding.... | 1 Sam 10:22 | BibleVerse | 150444
Saul bashfully hid among the luggage. Found, he was presented as king, and the people approvingly shouted: “Let the king live!” Escorted by valiant men, Saul returned to Gibeah. Though good-for-nothing men spoke disparagingly of him and despised him, Saul remained silent.—
22 | how does God see me | 1 Sam 16:7 | BibleVerse | 169704
Not from the outside but from the inside. Yes, God can see us physically, but unlike mankind in general, God looks beyond the physical appearance to peer right into our heart. In the scriptural account that follows, Samuel thought that God was going to select one of David's brothers as King Saul's successor. But, as you'll read, while men (even the spiritual man Samuel!) tend to focus on the exterior, God focuses on the heart: 1 Samuel 16:7 "But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." 23 | When was the Book of Job first published | Job | BibleVerse | 142324
Moses is generally credited with writing the account of Job’s experiences. He could have known about Job when he spent 40 years in Midian and may have heard of Job’s final outcome and death when Israel was near Uz toward the end of its wilderness journey. If Moses completed the book of Job about the time of Israel’s entry into the Promised Land in 1473 B.C.E. (probably not long after Job’s death), this would place the time of Job’s trial about 1613 B.C.E., for Job lived 140 years after his trial was over.—Job 42:16, 17.
24 | Was Job a judge? | Job 29:16 | BibleVerse | 174248
Job was an impartial judge (in his day) but you won't find him listed in the book of Judges, if that is what you mean. He carried out justice and championed the cause of widows, fatherless boys, afflicted and helpless ones. From Job 29:12-17 we read: "Because I delivered the poor who cried for help, And the orphan who had no helper. The blessing of the one ready to perish came upon me, And I made the widow's heart sing for joy. I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; My justice was like a robe and a turban. I was eyes to the blind And feet to the lame. I was a father to the needy, And I investigated the case which I did not know. I broke the jaws of the wicked and snatched the prey from his teeth." Interestingly, he also performed duties as a priest on behalf of his family. (Job 1:4,5) |

25 | scripture cedar size tail old testament | Job 40:17 | BibleVerse | 148155
The description in the 40th chapter of the book of Job offers a vivid word picture of this huge mammal, Behemoth. It is described as being herbivorous. (Vs 15) The sources of its tremendous power and energy are noted to be in the hips and in the tendons of its belly, that is, the muscles of its back and those of its belly. (Vs 16) The tail of Behemoth is like a cedar. Since the tail of a hippopotamus is fairly short, measuring about 46 to 51 cm (18 to 20 in.), this is likely to be understood as meaning that the animal can set its thick tail rigidly upright or swing it about like a tree. “The sinews of its thighs are interwoven,” so that the fiber and tendons of muscles of its thighs are twisted together and braided like powerful cables. (Vs 17)
26 | Moses and the Promise Land | Ps 106:33 | BibleVerse | 139655
Psalm 106:33 33 for they rebelled against the Spirit of God, and rash words came from Moses' lips. With angry words, Moses called attention to himself and Aaron rather than to the One who really could miraculously provide water from a rock. Thus, just before Moses died at the border of the Promised Land, God referred to the incident at Kadesh-barnea and indicated that Moses’ error was that he failed to ‘sanctify God before the eyes of the people' and as a result would not be permitted to enter the promised land. However, the verses that follow indicate that God wanted Moses to see the promise land on behalf of the children of Israel, which no doubt comforted him given his role of leading them there. Numbers 27:12-14 12. "And the Lord said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel. 13. And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered. 14. For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin." |

34 | justice and righteous in Amos | Amos 3:1 | BibleVerse | 138996
On the matter of justice, the scriptures in Amos 3:1-6:14 indicate that although God favored Israel, justice dictates that Israel be held to a special accountability; God thus holds an accounting for false religious practices at Bethel and defrauding by luxury lovers in Samaria. God urges Israel to 'Hate what is bad, and love what is good'. |

36 | what were the diciples jobs b4 jesus | Matt 4:18 | BibleVerse | 157682
Andrew, (Mt 4:18) fisherman Simon Peter, (Mt 4:18) fisherman John, (Mark 1:19,20) fisherman James the sone of Zebedee [John’s brother], (Mark 1:19,20) fisherman Philip, although from the same hometown as Peter and Andrew (John 1:43-49), the Bible doesn't appear to mention that he was a fisherman. Nathanael [also called Bartholomew], perhaps a fisherman too (John 21:1-23) Matthew, (Mt 10:3) a tax collector Judas (also called Thaddaeus), doesn't appear to be mentioned and the only reference to him alone is John 14:22 Judas Iscariot, unknown... although my wife comments he turned out a thief (John 12:6) among other infamous things Simon the Cananaean, apparently not specified in the Bible Thomas, apparently not specified in the Bible James the son of Alphaeus, apparently not specified in the Bible |

38 | why should I be concerned about what is | Matt 6:19 | BibleVerse | 185317
By reason of his Creatorship, God is the Owner of all things. Hence, it is only right that we worship him and use whatever assets that we may have in a way that is pleasing in his sight. (Ps. 95:3-6) This means our using these assets to help others spiritually and materially. In the case of wealthy Christians, they were urged to make their fine works that went on record just as abundant as their possessions. By using what they had in relieving the distress of others, they would be laying up treasure in heaven. In fact, all devoted Christians, by keeping active in helping persons in spiritual and physical need, lay up treasure in heaven that will yield rich dividends in the form of rewards from God. Hope that answers your question.
39 | Explanation of Matthew 6:22-23 | Matt 6:23 | BibleVerse | 183556
In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus called attention to the tremendous influence that the figurative or spiritual eye can exercise on our entire life course. He said: “If, then, your eye is simple, your whole body will be bright; but if your eye is wicked, your whole body will be dark.” (Matt. 6:22, 23) A simple eye is one that is focused on a single purpose—doing God’s will—not being distracted by undue anxiety over material things. Hope this is what you were looking for.
