You wrote; There may have been no denominations in the first-century church, but we see the writings of the apostles battling false teaching left and right. This statement that you made pretty much sums up the answer that the church of Christ trys to live and grow by. The writings in the bible by the Apostles and prophets are our only guide. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. To put it plainly if the church of Christ that I know to be the true church of God that we have today is not the true church, then just by the standards set forth in the bible then we have lost the church and the whole of humanity and all are going to Hell. To know a denomination you can go to the scriptures and see if what they practice is in accordance with the New Testament. For instance, claping hands, musical instruments, chiors, solo's sung, women preachers, a single pastor for a preacher and deacons for him to rule over, do not teach water baptism for salvation, do not observe the Lord's Supper as the Apostles did on the first day of the week and so on..... I hope this has help your understanding of the churches of Christ. Just as you stated we try to fight false teaching and doctrine today just as we did then. Your friend, Raven |

Hello Hank, I would like to ask if you have ever looked thru the book or Romans? You said,"Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone". I'll give you one out the three. But you see the other two can't hold water with scriptures like this; Romans 1 5Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for OBEDIENCE to the faith among all nations for His name, Romans 6 16Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of OBEDIENCE leading to righteousness? Romans 16 26but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for OBEDIENCE to the faith-- Matthew 7 Build on the Rock (1) 24 "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, AND DOES THEM, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26"But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and DOES NOT DO THEM, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: James 1 22But be DOERS OF THE WORD, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty AND CONTINUES IN IT, and is not a forgetful hearer BUT A DOER OF THE WORK, this one will be blessed in what he does. James 2 Faith Without Works Is Dead (1) 14 What does it profit, my brethren, IF SOMEONE SAYS HE HAS FAITH BUT DOES NOT HAVE WORKS? CAN FAITH SAVE HIM? 15If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17THUS ALSO FAITH BY ITSELF, IF IT DOES NOT HAVE WORKS, IS DEAD.18But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your[1] works, and I will show you my faith by my[2] works. 19You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe--and tremble! 20But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?[3] 21Was not Abraham our father JUSTIFIED BY WORKS when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22DO YOU SEE THAT FAITH WAS WORKING TOGETHER WITH HIS WORKS, AND BY WORKS FAITH WAS MADE PERFECT? 23And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."[4] And he was called the friend of God. 24You see then that a man is justified by works, AND NOT BY FAITH ONLY. 25Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also JUSTIFIED BY WORKS when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD ALSO. Hank, why can you not read these few verses and and not know that faith only will not save anybody or anyone at anytime! Your friend, Raven |

Hello Justme, Thank you for your comments. I would like to make a point though about your suggestion. I myself am a member of the Church of Christ and would by no means approve of another church or organization being a guide to this young lady. Though she has every right to make up her own mind as to how she plans to spend the rest of her eternity I would prefer that she knew all the bible has to say instead of those organizations that pick and choose. That would be like throwing the sheep to the wolves. I ask you with your Baptist background would send someone to a different faith where they would learn a different belief system? Of course not. Please understand that I am not trying to be ugly about this with you, I just want you and the others that read this to know where I stand. Jesus said; Matthew 7 The Narrow Way (1) 13 "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14Because[1] narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. You Will Know Them by Their Fruits (2) 15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. If I ask you who was the founder of your church who would you say that would be? If you ask me I could only give one answer and that would be Jesus Christ because He said, "I will build My church". No denomination can say that truthfully, because all denomiations add or subtract from the bible according to the traditions of men. Mark 7 7And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. The bible teaches that there is only one. Ephesians 4 4There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you[1] all. This is something that many can read, but seem to overlook and dismiss it. They also overlook, 1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. Galatians 1 Only One Gospel 6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed And lastly,Romans 16:17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. 18For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus[1] Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. Please try to research the things that I have said and set your feelings aside. Read what the bible says and do that, not what is contrary to the Word of God. I respect your viewpoint and I would hope that you will do the same for me. Your friend, Raven |

44 | which nation actually resembles God? | Bible general Archive 1 | RAVEN | 50108
Hello Aurrance, I see, so you were not certain of Jesus's skin color but because of pictures you took it to be the truth? We only know were Jesus was born, which was Bethlehem. But his parents were from a city in Galilee called Nazareth. Which is why sometimes Jesus is refered to as Jesus the Nazaren. Though it really does not matter of His skin color, it was probably close to the same as of those in that part of the world today. On another note I am sorry that you experienced such rude and vile behavior from some using the church as their on group of the select elect. I myself am a member of the Church of Christ and have no such bigotry or hatred for another human being. If you would like to know more about the Church, I believe that I have already given you my email address or if you would like we can continue to discuss it over the forum. 2 Peter 3 9The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us,[1] NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH BUT THAT ALL should come to repentance. Hebrews 9 12Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place ONCE FOR ALL, having obtained eternal redemption. Hope this helps, Raven |

45 | Self control and Spirit controlled? | 1 Cor 9:25 | RAVEN | 50105
Hello Mommapbs Please try and understand that I am not saying that just because a person picks up the bible a reads that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit. But to be filled with the Spirit one must read the bible, open up their hearts and be willing to take what the bible says as THE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD. Not merly that it contains the Word, but that it IS the WORD. If you would re-read my post you would see that I was stating this. There are only two ways that a person can learn of the Gospel of Christ. 1. They can be preached to and 2. they can open up the bible and read for themselves. Either way by submitting to this and obeying, they thru study of the word will be filled by the Holy Spirit. Please read Romans 10 Israel Rejects the Gospel 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,[1] Who bring glad tidings of good things!"[2] 16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "LORD, who has believed our report?"[3] 17So then FAITH COMES BY HEARING, AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD. The Word of God (the bible) is the only thing we have, to learn about the will of God. 1 John 3 9Whoever has been born of God does not sin(meaning that we do not continue in sin), for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. Luke 8 The Parable of the Sower Explained (1) 11 "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Luke 8 15But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, HAVING HEARD THE WORD with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience His seed is the Word which we read, like I stated in my last post, Ephesians 3 3how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4by which, WHEN YOU READ, YOU MAY UNDERSTAND my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: Colossians 1 3 We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; 5because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, OF WHICH YOU HEARD BEFORE IN THE WORD OF TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL, 6WHICH HAS COME TO YOU, AS IT HAS ALSO IN ALL THE WORLD, and is bringing forth fruit,[2] as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth; 7as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, 8who also declared to us your love in the Spirit. Preeminence of Christ 9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you MAY BE FILLED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL IN ALL WISDOM AND SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING; 10that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and INCREASING IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD; The post you replied to was about being controlled by the Holy Spirit. Nobody can prove being controlled by the Holy Spirit. But we have the written word to help mold us an shape us into a form which God will accept us. Isaiah 64 8But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. Hope this helps you to understand my point. Raven |

47 | Lord's Supper discussion. | Acts 2:42 | RAVEN | 47302
Hello Dan, No,I don't have to think if they did or not it tells me Acts 20 Ministering at Troas 7 Now on the "first day" of the week, "when" the disciples came together to break bread, You stated; "To say one way or the other is the only way is to add a command that does not exist in the Bible." The bible is for our learning and is a guide for us to use when coming into the presence of God to worship Him. Jesus said "as often" as "you" do this. Jesus was speaking to His Apostles was He not? You can say that this not a direct command such as when God told Noah to specifically use "Gopher" wood or Numbers 19 when God told them to sacrifice a "red heifer" but because Jesus said as often (leaving it up to them) as you do this, it is a command none the less. So from reading we can see that the Apostles and the First church (which is our pattern) came together on the first day of the week and took of the Lords Supper on this day. Also as I have stated before Acts 2:42 says they (the disciples)continued in the Apostles doctrine. If the work and the church that Jesus started was left in the hands of the Apostles, and they were obviously being guided by the Holy Spirit because Jesus said He would send them a Helper, then shouldn't we as the disciples did some 2000 years ago continue in this same doctrine? Interestingly enough these Disciples were first called Christians at Antioch. Acts 11 26And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. The name Christian is a Holy and Divine name given to those who followed Jesus Christ. Aren't we called Christians today? Shouldn't we do as they did? After all the things which they did and how they worshiped were recorded in the scriptures. God didn't need filler material, these things were written so we would know how God expects us worship Him. You said to command the Lords Supper on the first day of the week would be adding a command that didn't exist, I tell you if were not a command and expected of Christians it would not have been shown in the bible as a part of their worship. We have a pattern to follow, and that pattern is the New Testament. If we do not follow that pattern then how can we be considered Christians? Raven |

48 | Are women allowed to be pastors? | Bible general Archive 1 | RAVEN | 46746
Lets read this verse in context with the scripture around it. Sons and Heirs 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. It is clear when we read this that it is telling us that since Christ came and died for the sins of all that those who follow Christ and have been obedient to His word have a right to the cleansing power of His blood. Further more this scripture fits perfectly with the following, Acts 10 34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality Romans 2 11For there is no partiality with God. Galatians 2 6But from those who seemed to be something--whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man--for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me. In other words it doesn't matter if you are black, white, yellow, red, French, German, American, African, what ever or who ever you are, all are able to be saved if they are willing to obey the word of God. One of the best ways to give an example of this is with the Jewish nation. They thought that because they were Jews and desendants of Abraham that made them special in Gods eye. They were more concerned about "who" they were, than "what" God wanted them to be. John 8 32And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." 33They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, "You will be made free'?" I hope I have answered you question. And please I would perfer that you did not look at the answer that I give you as insight. I merly took what the bible has said and give it to you. Raven |

Well I guess I can't convience you that the Holy Spirit doesn't literally live in us. But if this true I just got one more question. Why do we have the inspired word of God if the Holy Spirit lives in us? It would seem to me that the Holy Spirit would guide us into all that is right thereby making the bible useless. John 14 25 "These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He WILL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 16 13However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. Tell me has the Holy Spirit taught you "all things" has He guided you "into all truth"? And you ask how do I explain Jesus. I don't but the bible says, Matthew 1 Christ Born of Mary (1) 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with CHILD OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Isaiah 7 14Therefore the Lord Himself will GIVE YOU A SIGN: Behold, THE VIRGIN SHALL CONCEIVE and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. The last time I checked none of us including you were not born of a woman without the help of a man. Jesus was sent from God. The name Immanuel literally means God with us. Nobody can claim anything close to this today, not even the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. RAVEN |

Then God is a sinner just like man then. If reduce God to literally dwelling, that is living inside your body, then you have to associate God as being a partaker of sin. And thats just not scriptural I don't care how you look at it. Habakkuk 1 13You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, And cannot look on wickedness. Jesus Christ was totally human. He was also totally God. He was fully human as we are and yet He was deity. And you say that it is possible to have part of the Godhead inside our mortal bodies? Noway! This is mans way of saying if "I" do something wrong, if "I" sin then thats ok its no big deal because the Holy Spirit is in "me" and "I'm" once saved always saved and everything is alright and so "I'm" going to keep on doing what "I" want to do!! Man thinks it's all about him, but its not. Haven't you ever heard someone say, "He's got his daddy in him" or "she's got her mother in her". Well we know the are not really inside one another, but its their attributes that make them seem just like each other. And that is what God wants and has said. 1 John 1 Fellowship with Him and One Another 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the TRUTH IS NOT IN US. 9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and HIS WORD IS NOT IN US. 1 John 3 9Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for HIS SEED REMAINS IN HIM; and he cannot sin,(CONTINUE IN SIN) because he has been born of God. Luke 8 11 "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. RAVEN |

Joe my friend saying that the almighty God dwells in someone literally is inacurate. It is Gods word which should dwell in us. Colossians 3 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord John 14 10Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. If we say that the Holy Spirit literally dwells in us then we would have to say that it also allows us to sin. And thats just not possible. God is perfect, Jesus Christ is perfect and the Holy Spirit is perfect, man is sinful. What did Solomon the wisest man to ever live say: 1 Kings 8 26And now I pray, O God of Israel, let Your word come true, which You have spoken to Your servant David my father. 27"But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, HEAVEN AND HEAVEN OF HEAVENS CANNOT CONTAIN YOU. HOW MUCH LESS THIS TEMPLE WHICH I HAVE BUILT! Neither can our sinful bodies hold the Almighty God within us either! RAVEN |

Let me give you something to think about, Isaiah 55 8"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. 9"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. Romans 11 32For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. 33Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! Gods law is for all and crosses all boundaries. The unbeliever must learn about God before he can be saved. This learning starts form a child. Timothy 3 15and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, Now back to the point, it doesn't matter if I'm right it only matters what God has said, and He said "whoever". Matthew 19 9And I say to you, WHOEVER divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality,[1] and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery." The word of God is for all and we will all be judged by it. 57 | Why cant I remarry, even though... | Bible general Archive 1 | RAVEN | 45515
I didn't read all of your note but I didn't have to after you said, "To insist that two people stay in an abusive relationship, whether it is sexual, physical, or psycological, is just plain legalism and doesn't stand up to scripture." I can tell you right now that if have read any scripture on the subject of marraige and divorce you would see that it does stand up. The purpose of the bible is to teach the gospel of Christ to everyone. And if people would truley pattern their lives after the bible you would not have all these disfunctional marraiges. Yet you site the very kind of people in these disfunctional marragies that have probably never read the scriptures that teach on marriage and divorce much less been to a church that has. Ephesians 5 25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. Philippians 4 Meditate on These Things 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. 9The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. Now you tell me that God should allow marraiges to be disolved because of the reasons you state? No!, you have been given the blueprint to go by and its your fault if you don't abide by it! If two people who are Christians get married and each of them love God more than each other then there will nothing but joy and love in their relationship and a lifetime together to worship God. Yes, God has stated from the begining, Genesis 2 23And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." 24Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his "wife", and they shall become one flesh. Mark 10 6But from the beginning of the creation, God "made them male and female.'[1] 7"For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his "wife", 8and the two shall become one flesh';[2] so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. It matters not that one, both or none are believers in Christ. Though it would be best for both to be sound Christians, this law was put in place to stop poligamy and adultrious relationships. But sadly this is not the way many (including self pro-claimed Christians) view this law. Lamech was the first recorded person to break this law. Genesis 4 19Then Lamech took for himself two wives: the name of one was Adah, and the name of the second was Zillah. The thing we are to understand about marraige is that it is a sacred institution set up by God from the begining to procreate the race. But man with the lust of his eye and his flesh has reduced what God has established to a marraige of convenience and if it doesn't work out people just split and find somebody else. And the whole while people just choose to ignore the above scriptures and they think that they do not fall into this one. Hebrews 13 4Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge Raven |

59 | Is baptism essential for salvation? | Acts 4:12 | RAVEN | 45357
Well I read what you sent and if you have to re-write the bible to get your point across then by default the message you are trying to send becomes a lie. Any bible that has been translated correctly from the original scrolls and writings says what it as always said. That baptism is essential for a person to be saved! When the Holy Spirit thru men inspired the word of God to be written, it was correct and complete the first time. It does not need to be re-written or interpreted for one to understand how to be saved. For scripture is clear when it says,2 Peter 1 19And so we have the prophetic word confirmed,[1] which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,[2] 21for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God[3] spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. And it is even clearer when it says, 1 Peter 3 19by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited[1] in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21There is also an antitype WHICH NOW SAVES US--BAPTISM(not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him. I hope this has helped. Raven |

60 | Can you lose your salvation? | Revelation | RAVEN | 45199
Hello Farout, You have miss spoken my friend. There is such a thing as Apostacy. If it were not so the Lord God would not give us warnings to remain faithul. You need to rethink this by reading just these few out of many verse that point to a person who has and can fall away. Keep in mind though that we can be saved once and for all, but its conditional. As it states in,1 John 1 7But "IF" we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. The word "if" is a small word that holds a lot of weight and "if" we overlook it we can loose our soul. 1 Corinthians 10 12Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 1 Timothy 4 The Great Apostasy Be Faithful to Your Spiritual Calling 1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 2 Peter 2 20For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit,"[1] and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire." Also my friend you say that salvation is faith in Christ plus nothing. I tell you that if a little child is trapped in a burning building and the fireman tells him to jump out the window, I will catch you, even though he might have faith if doesn't jump he's going to burn! Jesus said, Matthew 7 I Never Knew You (1) 21 "Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who "DOES" the will of My Father in heaven. I tell you that faith plus nothing is a dead faith. James 2 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. You say "is Christ not able to keep me?" Yes He is able if you were a robot! But you are not! You are a free will agent that is able to do as you want to do. This is a week argument to say "is Christ not able to keep me?". All this question does is put the blame for you or whoever else feels this way on God, when God has already done His part. He supplied the "grace" He supplied His Son. And now you want to put the blame at Gods feet if your lost! Obedience to the will of God is the only way one can be saved! 2 Thessalonians 1 8in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who DO NOT OBEY the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
