41 | Johova's Witness | John 14:6 | serenetime | 28313
Sunflower, You need to know that even the so called elders of the Jehovahs Witnesses do not think for themselves. All questions are to go to the Watch Tower society to answer if it's not a question they can answer. They are brain washed like other so called cults and I'm sorry they totally supress women and make other ethnic backgrounds to believe they are beneath them by claiming it's scriptual. To the extent that they are like slaves and not worthy of thinking for themselves. I know. My husband and I had an elder coming to our house for many months and he finally left and never came back when he was confronted with a question where when he went to the watchtower society, and he never returned. We called him and he said he would not be coming back, and gave no explanation. It just goes to show we all need to seek and know the word for ourselves and nothing can sway us. Serenetime

Shell, In Rev.1:20, it says that the candlesticks are the churches, and then in Rev.11:4, it says these are the two candlesticks. Gee, why are the two candlesticks (churches) still around? I see no rapture there. Serenetime

Shell, If you study the word in depth and know what the word says and you are grounded, then you will not be swayed to believe hogwash. These sole called teachers thrive on unknowledgeable christians who are lazy and who are looking for a feel good doctrine. Jesus tells, us there will be false prophets in Matt 24.Also check out 2 Tim 4:3-4. It's up to us to know. Serenetime
44 | What is salvation? | Ps 68:19 | serenetime | 28304
Charis,Salvation is first in Romans 10. Notice verse 4, For Christ is end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth. Rom.10:9,10, If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10) for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. But also 11, it says "whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. But in verse 16, Isaiah says "who hath believed our report". verse 17, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. In Acts16:30,31 it says "And brought them out and said" Sirs what must I do to be saved." verse 30, And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Eph 2:5 "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Luke 1:74-80 That he would grant us, that we being delivered out of the hand of the enemy might serve him without fear. 75) In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. 76) And thou child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways; 77)To give knowledge of salvation unto His people by the remission of their sins, 78)Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79) To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." 80) And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel. I truly believe that you can confess with mouth, but if you don't know what you are confessing then how can you be saved. Saved from what? Rom.10:17 explains that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Yes, confession without knowledge is the first step, but it's up to the teachers to teach the true meaning of salvation. We as teachers are responsible to teach his word so then all know his true salvation from sin and that the enemy no longer hath dominion over them, and God's love and tender mercy through grace giving them power and confidence to endure to the end. Trusting in Jesus every day and him dying on the cross. Is it instantaneous as in confession and not knowing what you're confessing to. It's gradual, and in getting to know why you are saved and from what. So when at the judgement, Jesus doesn't say, depart from me, I never knew you. Serenetime

46 | Forget and reach for what? | Phil 3:13 | serenetime | 28288
Mommapbs, It would be best to read the whole chapter to understand what is being said here. Obviously Paul is saying is that what is past is but dung verse 8, but what he is saying that in the flesh and the things he used to do in the law is but dung, that through the excellency of through Jesus Christ he counts all what is before is worthless, so forgetting what lies behind and looking forward to what lies ahead. Like when we are saved, all past is washed away, behold all things are new. we have a new start. I hope this helps. Don't linger on your past, you are now a new creature. Serenetime
47 | Can all be saved? | 1 Cor 5:5 | serenetime | 28287
Sandre, In 2 Peter 3:9 it says, the Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsufferig to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Verse 10 but the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. I am brought back to Judas in Matt.27:3-6 where yes he did betray Jesus but repented of his act and suffered the death. See anyone can be saved, it takes a change of heart whether it be Judas or anyone. In Luke 22:3 it says that Satan had entered into Judas, but even though Judas repented and therefore he was saved. No matter what we have done and where we have been we all can have salvation through Jesus Christ. God is no respecter of persons. I hope this has been helpful. Serenetime
48 | Living with the world's hatred?? | John 17:14 | serenetime | 27922
Seeking Wisdom, I really feel your pain. I too like many others have to deal with the rejection, and yes it can get to you. But remember what Jesus endured when he was here, and yet he didn't sin. He would wipe the dust off his feet and move on, and he had to walk for miles and miles. He loves us so much that he couldn't waver, and it's that love for us and praying and seeking and trusting God daily is what kept him going. Putting himself in harms way at every turn he would be confronted with anger, unbelief, jealousy and ridicule. People couldn't phathom in their minds and heart that here's this man teaching, and telling them something that so foreign, so hard to believe, but many hearts were changed and many did believe and were set free. It's no different now. Our world is so corrupt and so many hearts have waxed cold toward one another and have become numb and calloused that they don't feel anything. Everyone for themselves, and get out of my way. Then you and I and other's come to tell them that there is a loving god and loving saviour who came and endured and suffered the torture and pain before and on the cross for mankind so we could have hope in this world. But now because of what happened on Sept. 11, many are having there eyes opened to the fact that life is temporary and that tomorrow is really not promised to us. And each and every day it's getting worse. We need to build up our faith and trust Jesus to speak through us when witnessing to other's with a love this world has never felt before. We as human beings only know a glimpse of the Father's Love, but Jesus through us, and not us trying to do it can see person's heart's soften and there is something about the love they have never felt before and that many have wanted to feel. Trusting in only ourselves always gets us in trouble, because then here come's the insecurity and lack of patience and so on. God's love is immeasurable. We need to rely and trust in God daily. John 15:13, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Phil. 4:6,7 Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made know unto him. Verse 7, And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. And when we prayer Jesus is up there intercessing on our behalf to the Father with Satan for ever accusing God's children. Let's Make our Father proud of us, OK?? I hope I have been helpful. Don't be discouraged, it will get better and you will begin to feel the peace, and such a building up of faith that no one, and nothing will be able to shake your faith. we are powerhouses for our Father. The world has it hate, but their hate won't make us stop enduring for our Loving Father and Love will overpower Hate. Sometimes people are not really hateful, but tired and angry at this life, ya know. Let's spread some Love. Take Care, Keep seeking daily for guidance when witnessing, give it to him. Ask him to show you his LOVE and immerse you with it, and so you can spread it over a hurting and love hungry world. In the Father's LOVE, SERENETIME |

49 | Rev 1:20 | Rev 1:20 | serenetime | 27917
Branon51, Hi, I just wanted to mention that if you go to Rev.1:10, it says that John was in the Spirit on the Lord's day. So lets remember this is the day Jesus returns. Check out 1Thess4:13-18. It says in verse 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of god: and the dead in Christ shall rise first, verse 17,then we which are alive, and remain, shall be caught together with them in the clouds to meet the lord in the air. Also in 1Cor.15:38-41. Paul is explaining in verse 39 the differences of the flesh bodies of men and beasts, fish, birds. Verse 40 is telling us that there are differences in the the bodies of heaven, celestial, terrestrial. Verse 41, say's there is glory of the sun and moon, and stars and that stars differ from one another. I always advice everyone that it is always a good practice to read he whole chapter of the books to get a better understanding. Now in 1Cor.15:52 That we will change in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trump shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. verse 54 says mortal puts on immortality. So here we see in all these passages, that this is the Lord's day, and that the last trump has sounded, and the dead are rising incorruptible, and we have changed from mortal to immortality (Spiritual). and we see that there was most definitely angels with Jesus. It further shows us this in 2Thess.1:7, and to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels. All of chapter 1 is good to read and all of chapter 2 is also good to read because he is trying to reassure us and not be troubled by his first letter to us. So in Rev.1:10, we now can see that John has changed into immortality, into the Spirit, and he heard behind him a great voice as of a trumpet. Here's the 7th trump. Verse 20, is now alot easier to understand, the seven stars are angels of the churches and the seven golden candlesticks are the churches. Yes Paul says he show's you a mystery in 1Cor.15:51, but it really is not much of a mystery any more. 1Thess.4,5. 2Thess. 1Cor.15 go hand in hand. I hope this has helped you to understand Rev.1:10 better. Take Care. In the Living Water of the Father, Serenetime
50 | In last days will people buy/sell Jesus? | Rev 6:5 | serenetime | 27808
Hotrod, Ever since the Sept.11th tragedy, and because of this people now realize that life is really temporary, and we are not exempt from terrorism even within our own country also by the Anthrax scare and more people dying. Remember the day of prayer where all religions and beliefs were all piled into a stadium hosted by Oprah Winfrey in the New York area after the world trade tragedy? And all prayed together even with their different beliefs. Bible sales and literature sales have most definitely gone way up because people always forget God Until tragedy strikes. And this was so major and shocking that people are numb and in shock and I think will be for a long time. Just like in the time of World Warll many thought that Hitler was the antichrist and the religious leaders and preachers preyed upon the people's fears and taught heavily on the Hell and Brimstone doctrine to scare them for their own ill gotten gain, and I believe it's happening now as well. What the people need now is showing the LOVE of Jesus more than scare tactics. God is not Fear, but of Love, and mercy and tenderness. We are to Love one another, Love and Kiss our children every chance we get and Love our neighbor, and Love our Country. Let this Love flow from us through Iesous (Jesus)always. I feel that many people have lost their love for their fellowman and hearts have been hardened and callous for so long. Time to soften up, don't you agree. In the Love of the Living Water of the Father. Serenetime
51 | Man, woman take on sins of each other | 1 Cor 6:16 | serenetime | 27704
Gretsch42, In 1Cor.6:16, where it says "he which is joined" is #2853, Kollao, from kolla, ("to glue") to stick, cleave, keep company. "to a harlot" #4204, porne, a strumpet, an idolater.Coming from #4205, pornos, to sell as akin as the base of #4097. to #4097,piprasko, a male prostitute ( as venal) a debauchee (libertine). "body" #4983, soma, the body as a sound whole, slave. "flesh" #4561, sarx, flesh, as stripped of skin, the meat of an animal (as food) body as opposed to soul and spirit. symbol of what is external, human nature with it's frailities (physically or morally) as passions, carnally minded, fleshly. There are other scriptures that are similar like Gen.2:24, Matt.19:5-6, Eph.5:31, Mark10:7-9. In Gen. 2:24, where it says "and shall cleave" it's #1692, dabaq, to impinge, cling, adhere, to catch by pursuit, follow close, overtake. "unto his wife" #802, ishshah, nashiym, a woman, adulteress, wife, woman. It comes from #582, enowsh, properly a mortal, differing from man. Bloodthirsty, chapman. "flesh" #1320 basar, flesh from it's freshness, body, person. In Mark19:5, "shall cleave" her is the same as 1Cor.6:16 #2853 where it says "which is joined". "wife" is #1135, gune, a woman, especially wife. "twain" #1417, duo, a primary numeral (two) both. "flesh" #4561, same as 1Cor.6:16. But in Mark19:6, where it says God it is #2316, theos, uncertain iffinity, a diety, the supreme diety, magistrate. "hath joined together" #4801, suzeugnumi, to yoke together, conjoin in marriage. "put asunder" #5563, chorizo, to place room between, to go away, depart, separate. From #5561, chora through the idea of empty expanse, a room, a space of territory. Eph.5:31, "shall be joined" #4347, proskallao, to glue to, to adhere, cleave. "wife" #1135 same as Matt.19:5, gune. "flesh" #4561, sarx, same as 1Cor.6:16, Matt.19:5. Mark10:7, "cleave" #4347, proskallao, same as Eph.5:31. "wife" #1135, gune, same as Eph.5:31,Matt.19:5. Mark10:9,"God" #2316, theos, same as Matt.19:6. So you see that there are similarities in these verses, but some slight differences like in 1Cor.6:16 it says which is joined, In Gen.2:24 it and shall cleave, Matt.19:5, says shall cleave, but the meanings are slightly different. Also in 1Cor.6:16 it says to a harlot, thus differing from Gen. and Matt. and Eph., and Mark. Harlot is #4205, pornos in the greek meaning to sell coming from #4097, a male prostitute, etc. and so on. As for the joining, and cleaving are slightly different in meaning. But most importantly in Gen.2:24, for flesh it says body as opposed from the soul and spirit. Symbol of what is external. It doesn't mean we are one as becoming one in soul and spirit. They remain separate and each one has his or her own sins, didn't God give us free will and that remains separate. We are to work out our own salvation, but when married it's a partnership. I hope I was helpful. In the Father's LOVE, Serenetime
52 | What type of "magic" do magi do? | Matt 2:1 | serenetime | 27697
Hi Hix, Regarding what type of magic do the magi do. I came up with looking up the words "wise"in Matt.2:1 In the Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, going back to the original languages, I found that wise is #3097 in the Greek, it's Magos,of foreign origin from OT #7248, meaning a magian, oriental scientist, a magician. Also for sorcerer. I looked up sorcerer and from Acts.13:8 sorcerer is also translated #3097 in the greek. So I looked up #7248 in the OT which is Rab-mag, foreign word for Magian. Rab-mag, a Babylonian official. Then when looking up magician it's #2749 in the OT, is Chartom coming from from #2748, meaning magician but when you go to #2748 it means a horoscopian, as drawing of magical lines or circles. But interesting enough when I looked up witchcraft it was in Gal.5:20, #5331,coming from #5332, pharmakeia- medication (pharmacy), i.e. by extension (Magic) literally or figuratively, sorcery.#5332 is pharmakeus- from pharmakon ( a drug, i.e, spellgiving potion); a druggist ("pharmacist") or poisoner, i.e. by extension a magician. As you can see this is where we get our words pharmacy, pharmicist. Makes you think, huh??I hope I've been of some help. Take Care Hix, In the Father's LOVE, Serenetime
53 | CHAPTER 6 LORD SAID AND 9 GOD SAID | Gen 2:3 | serenetime | 27691
SUPERLOTTO, Using the Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible Gen.6:5, God here in the original Hebrew is #3068 renderering Yehovah, the self Existent or Eternal, Jehovah. In verse 6, it's the same meaning. But in verse 9, #430,it means Elohiym, gods in the ordinary sense, specifically used in the plural thus, especially with the article of the Supreme God. Also used for magistrates. Verse 11,12,13,21 it's the same as verse 9. In Gen. 7:1 Lord, is back to #3068, the meaning of Yehovah, the self Existent or Eternal, Jehovah. I hope this helps. 54 | what does Roman 11:25 means? | Rom 11:25 | serenetime | 26914
thomaso, Very interesting scripture. because it starts off speaking in Rom.11:2,That God hath not cast away His people which he forknew. Verse 4, Here God is saying that he has reserved to himself seven thousand Men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Verse 5, Even now there is a remnant according to the election of Grace. Verse 7, What then, Israel has not obtained which he seeketh for, but the election has obtained it, and the rest were blinded. Verse 8, As it it written, God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear. Have they stumbled that they should fall God forbid, but through their fall salvation has come unto the Gentiles, Foreigners apart from Israel. But God has goodness and severity on them that fell. But toward thee, goodness if thou continue in His Goodness: otherwise you shall also be cut off. If them that fell continue not in unbelief, they can be graffed back in again. Verse 24, Now if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature (lineal descent) (wild as pertaining to the country, and fierce), and then were graffed in to a good olive tree which is contrary, opposing to nature, how much more shall these that fell being of the natural branches be graffed into their own olive tree. Verse 25, Her Paul does not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, he says don't ignore it, please understand it. Lest you should be wise in you own conceits; that this blindness (hardness and callousness) in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Fulness means in the greek means repletion or complete subjectively what fills (contents)(multitude) Gentiles is Ethnos in the Greek, meaning a race, a tribe, usually pagan, heathen, nation, people. Here it's talking about the ones that are saved by Grace unto salvation as I spoke of earlier in this post. Be come in means to enter, enter in, So while God has given the spirit of slumber to his that have fallen, Now it opens the door for the saving by Grace to the gentiles. Remember even now to this present time there is an election of Grace, for by Grace ye are saved unto salvation. This is a beautiful revelation if we truly understand it and truly see it with our eyes and truly hear with your ears. Thank you Jesus!!! In Love of the True Father and Blessings to you.... 55 | What does "purge me with hyssop mean? | Ps 51:7 | serenetime | 26830
songnheart, I would like to help in shedding some light on the interpretation of this scripture. To me when he says "Purge me" there's such a earnest need in his heart for complete cleansing. It's like don't just sprinkle, but saturate me. Every nook and cranny. There is such a longing to erase this sin, he feels dirty. Wants to feel the closeness to God and his love because somehow he feels separated, but God is always there.Such a sorrow that he's hurt God. "Purge me", make haste. The sooner the better. Purge me in the original Hebrew is #2398 is chata meaning a primitive root, properly to miss, hence to sin, by inference, to forfeit, lack, expiate, repent, lead astray, condemn. KJV, Bare the blame, commit sin by fault. Hyssop in the hebrew is ezob. It was used for sprinkling in some of the sacrifices and purifications of the Jews. In consequence of it's detergent qualities and how well it cleanses. Since on the stalk of hyssop the sponge of hyssop vinegar was held up to Jesus on the cross, John 19:29. There are many plants associated together with hyssop by qualities easily noticed rather than by close botannical affinities. So in this scripture he knows that if he is cleansed with hyssop, he knows he'll be completely clean, so much so that he will be whiter than snow, and I can't percieve what whiter than freshly fallen snow could be. There is such an assurance. This verse is so beautiful of the LOVE and FORGIVENESS and cleansing of God through Jesus interceding on our behalf. The Father Loves us so much, that we in the flesh could only get a glimpse of His unfailing LOVE for us. Oh how he must hurt on how the world is so sinful and filthy. Someday real soon we will be back in his LOvE. Oh how I can't wait. Take Good Care songnheart. In the Father's unfathomable Love, Serenetime
56 | How did Nephilims come into existance? | Bible general Archive 1 | serenetime | 26586
wjohn, Hi You will get your answer in Genesis 6 starting at verse 1. Verse 2 says the sons of God. Sons of God here is Angels. Angels are called spirits in Ps.104:4, Heb.1:7,14 for spirits are created by God. Verse 4, specifies Giants after the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. But verse 2 tells you their lust for the daughters of men, and they took wives of all which they chose. They are Nephilim meaning fallen ones from naphal (to fall). I hope this helps. 57 | Is satan a spirit? | Ezek 28:14 | serenetime | 26511
Mincc, First of all where it says Satan in scripture. The meaning of the word Satan is #7854 (Meaning for Satan in all OT) translated back to original Hebrew is, An opponent, the arch enemy of God. Adversary, withstand, resist. Now I believe that he is most definitely spirit. When speaking of Angels, they too are spirit because they are in the spiritual realm. In NT in the original Greek is #4567 meaning Aramaic in origin (same meaning in all NT scriptures) The accuser, i.e. the devil. But what kind of spirit is another story, but we can all agree is that he is in the spiritual realm, and we are not, right? Now if we're saying that Satan is Lucifer is #1966 in the original Hebrew meaning of the OT, In a sense of Brightness, the Morning Star, King of Babylon. The word Lucifer is not found in the NT. As in Ezek. 28:14 is says he was a Cherub, it is #3742 in the original Hebrew, and is the same translation for Cherub in all the OT. It says that a cherub is an imaginary figure. As for to kill. In Exodus 20:13 where we find the Ten Commandments it says Thou shall not kill. The meaning for kill in the original Hebrew is properly to dash to pieces, i.e. kill (a human being), especially to murder. Put to death, manslayer, murderer. From this translation I see and wholeheartedly believe that it means to premeditate to murder someone. Like lying in wait. Like having a plan. Because if not then all the people who have killed in self defense here and in war are unjustifiable. God gave us free will (YES) but also common sense in understanding his Word (letter to us) Accusing an innocent person that was drafted to war and had no choice but to kill and defend themselves and for the our country, and a person who kills someone that invades their home and it's either kill them or be killed is ludicrious, would you agree? So after all this, it is a sin to commit suicide, because it is premeditated. I hope this helps my friend. In the Love of the Living Water. Serenetime
58 | Lowest Common Denominator | Bible general Archive 1 | serenetime | 25228
Charis, The lowest point that I can possibly concieve on this sphere of enlightenment of love is to become as earth in Genesis 1:2. Tohu va Bohu. Darkness, to be decieved of the appointed time of when the bridegroom comes for his bride. The apparell of the bride has become black and void. For now is the time of the wedding to Iesous. The bride had already gone and eloped with the adulterous. The Devil, Satan, The Dragon, Apollyon, Adversary, Nachash, Son of Perdition, Abomination of desolations, Lucifer, The Bright and Morning Star, Death. Who is now the Brides Kinsman Redeemer. For now they are One. For all that belongs to It, It's now also the Brides Inheritence of EVIL Jealous Pride. For the Ways of Satan are the means to Death. To be blotted out. Nothingness, Negative, Non Existent, Never Known to exist, Null and Void. Cannot even be measured, but even worse still in existense feeling uttermost shame of anyone like those in Rev 6:15. To hide from the bridegroom they would wish for the rocks to fall on them to hide their shame. You would be better off to be non existent than to go on without experiencing True Love of the Father. But the lowest point would be to see those whom you had judged and persecuted and The Bridegroom turning his back and saying to you "I Never Knew You" Adulterous. This is why I study so diligently in search of the truth, so I can know that I am sharing to one of the Father's Precious children in Love and Truth. For I will be held accountable to My Father and my Messiah. In 2 Peter 3:9, It says The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slacknes; but is longsuffering to us-ward not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Verse 10, But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 59 | What does fearfully mean in this verse | Ps 139:14 | serenetime | 25203
Darnea, Hi, I just wanted to drop a little information about your question on Ps.139:14 the word fearfully is translated back to the original Hebrew as the word (yare) meaning to fear morally, and revere, to frighten, be (make) afraid, dread, put in fear, reverence. To revere means to regard with mingled fear, respect and affection; to reverence. Reverence means awe mingled with respect and esteem. And of course to have morals is to be in right conduct or duties of man; ethically, virtuous; chaste; discriminating against right and wrong; didactic; verified by reason or probability. With all that in mind, always striving to be more Christ like daily in our lives. We are to be a light that shineth in darkness. It's not telling us to be fearful as we would be fearful of a prowler or stalker for example. This fear is of the world. The Father is Spirit and Love. In His Love, Serenetime
60 | Is lusting after wife sin? | Matt 5:28 | serenetime | 25197
Xchngdlife, After I had answered this question by you previously I had a awful feeling about this that somehow my answer was incomplete. But the Holy spirit kept tugging at my heart to complete this answer. I really feel that even though I gave some meanings of lust in the NT, I have noticed that not one was good, except the one in Matthew. Because it says it can be for good or bad, but to me it's still not good. It makes my answer look like a mistake. But now I would like to give some other examples of lust, covet, desire, etc. They are all the same meaning, Doesn't every christian desireth, lust for, covet for the return of Iesous. It's in Love. In 1Cor. 12:31 It is 2206, Zeloo in the Greek means to have warmth of feeling for or against, covet earnestly, lust, have desire, be zealous, envy. When you and your wife are apart there is a desire to be together, because when you do, you and her become one flesh. In Deut. 18:6 which is the book of the law, the word is Desire (which has the same meaning for Lust, covet) is #185 meaning longing for, desire, lust after, pleasure. Also in Deut. 21:11, again in the Hebrew for lust is #2836 Chashaq, Meaning cling, join, to love, delight in, to deliver, have a delight, set in love, a longing. I know that when my husband is away at work, I have a strong desire for his company and closeness. It's not just desire for sexuality, but also for companionship. Today for example I called him at work really missing him, just wanting to talk. He missed me just as much. And still desiring, lusting, longing for one another after 22yrs. of marriage. I thank Iesous for bringing us together in 1980. In 1Cor. 14:39. for covet (lust) is #2206 again Zeloo in the Greek meaning, to have warmth of feeling for or against, affect, covet earnestly, have desire, lust, be zealous. So you see there is also good side to this coin. I, too agree with the others that the husband is to love their wives, even as Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it, and likewise the wife is to love her husband and submit, etc. It's not exact how the scripture reads, but close enough. Take care, I hope this helps. In the Love of the Father Serenetime
