42 | Is it a sin to marry outside your race? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jensen | 30274
Dear Samson....Welcome to the Forum. You have been offered pertinent Scripture verses. I want to add only that there is, biblically, only one race. We all came from Adam/Noah. It is evoultionaty thought that allows for more than one race. Evolution is the Big Lie. No one can give a single biblical verse that remotly discusses race as it is understood today. Marry a Christian regardless of the "race" and you will do well. God Bless....Jensen |

43 | Christian Response To Eastern Thought? | Is 55:11 | Jensen | 30237
Thank you for your thoughtful replies. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. Would you agree that one does not battle the mind with the heart…….at least if one wants to dissuade the other of a position held upon an intellectual foundation. There is seldom a feeling acceptance of Eastern thought. Christianity successfully uses emotions because the truth is written on our hearts where emotion resides. Christians are, therefore, emotional creatures by definition, made in the image of God. Cry all you want and stomp your feet but in the closing you must present a point by point refutation of an intellectual polemic if you are to make sense, and not feelings.….but sense… to a non-believer. This person has, or these Americans have, abandoned Christ. I think that to suggest that I “Use this verse” is probably nonsensical to a non-believer, one who knows of Christ but has no belief. Evangelical non-Christians use faulty reasoning or giant leaps of faith to persuade their victim but never, or seldom, is emotion used. That is why the air of arrogance surrounds all Christ haters. Intellectual arguments are based on facts at their base so we must reason with facts and logic and truth to those who have come to their beliefs as a result of an intellectual exercise. The pity is that we can not use the Word of God in our argument, only the truth of the Word. So therefore (1 Peter 3:15) “ But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,..”……… and so we must know some things such as what this child of God believes. So…If you have some resources let me know, please pray now for Jim. God Bless….Jensen |

44 | Engaged and want to find a church? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jensen | 29725
Dear Child of God....Welcome to the Forum...Your question indicates that you each have a seperate church home. As a couple, you probably attend services at each church. Eventually, if your marriage is to be a success, the biblical idea is that the man would make the choice, since he is to be the spiritual leader of the house. The man is responsible. My suggestion is that you do not cut ties with your home churches just yet. Get to know each others home church and you will discover more about each other. It is your home church that provides the support you will need leading up to the day you are united. Once you are married then you may want to discuss the home church issue. But not just yet:-) God Bless....Jensen |

45 | Is John 3:16 for real? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jensen | 28424
Dear Dan...A couple of months back you wrote.. "The disciples debated much about who would receive the greatest rewards in the upcoming Kingdom of God. If the Jews, or the disciples, could have merited salvation through self-effort, then Jesus would have died in vain. Those of us who revel in the knowledge of the grace of God know better than that. Our salvation is the gift of God - not of works." If you can fathom the gift of Grace, then you understand well that all deserve destruction. But, there is a lot of info on the verse if you will just try the search feature of this site. It's good to hear from you again...don't be a stranger. God Bless....Jensen |

Dear Jesusman...The Son is not the Father. The Son prays to the Father...The Father is pleased with the Son...The Father sends the Holy Spirit....There is a subject/object relationship..... Furtehmore.... John 14:7 "If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." 49 | Humble birth | Luke 2:7 | Jensen | 26881
Hello SRN...There may be no significance beyond the historical fact. If you will permit me to offer an opinion....As you probably know, not everything in the Bible has to have a secret meaning, just waiting to be uncovered after 2000 years. There are no codes, no numerologies, no Gnostic secrets. Except in those secrets that we discover about ourselves, the Bible speaks plainly in large measure. We do not know for sure, from any source, where Jesus was born; stable or cave? The Bible says "manger" in the verses you gave. Our traditions have placed the birth in a stable....But not the facts! If we were certain, well then you might have a good question. I know people who have slept in their cars and trucks because the Inn was full. Holiday Inn of course.:) Sometimes a stable is just a stable. God Bless....Jensen |

51 | How did Nephilims come into existance? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jensen | 26074
Dear wjohn......You may have heard of two sub-Saharan tribes. The Pygmies and the Watusies. The former averaging less than 5 feet in height while the latter averaging well over 6 feet tall. The Nephilim were a genetic sub-group just like all sub-groups since we all came through Adam, then Noah. God Bless....Jensen |

52 | When did the catholic church go wrong? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jensen | 25873
The Roman Catholic Church teaches that Peter was the first Pope. Therefore the first error was by the first Pope. Paul opposed Peter on doctrine. Paul was correct, the Pope was in error. GAL 2:11 When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong. 12 Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. 13 The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray. Technically, this was where the Catholic Church made the first error. But it was corrected. Let us pray that the other errors will be corrected soon. By His Grace.....Jensen |

53 | Gen. l:26,27 | Gen 1:1 | Jensen | 22963
Dear Jepson..Welcome to the Forum:) In the beggining there was only one blood type. That type was "very good" but, like everything else, it has decayed. Just as we have dozens and dozens of dog types that, we all would agree, came from a single "kind." And you wrote, "Why not each race have its own blood type?" ... the answer is the same as for blood. There was only one race, the human race that is now undergoing decay similar to the blood type and the rest of creation. And you wrote...". Why not each language group have its own?" ...the language you speak of is a social skill and is not a result of biology. When God dispersed the people from Babel they were still related bio-logically but no longer related socially. So the blood could still be the same type. The way we view our origins will affect the way we live our lives. The world is decieved by the theory of evolution and it effects the thinking of many Christians. We are not evolving different blood types for the improvement of the human species, we are witnessing the decay as a result of Adam's sin. Praise God, we have a Savior. God Bless....Jensen |

54 | what was taken from the angel? | Job 20:4 | Jensen | 22115
Dear Ruth30...Could these verses help. There seems to be no connection between and with the words in your question. Angel, sweet, taste, bitter, and stomach do not appear close to each other in the Bible except for the following.... JOB 20:4 "Surely you know how it has been from of old, ever since man was placed on the earth, JOB 20:12 "Though evil is sweet in his mouth and he hides it under his tongue, JOB 20:13 though he cannot bear to let it go and keeps it in his mouth, JOB 20:14 yet his food will turn sour in his stomach; it will become the venom of serpents within him. 55 | are there innocent victims in the bible | Bible general Archive 1 | Jensen | 21957
Dear Jordan...Sin is responsible for all death and destruction. Sin is the reason that innocent people had to die. Sin is why bad things happen to good people. Except for the work of the Cross, none of us are innocent. Here are a couple of Biblical characters that considered themselves innocent in both the legal and the moral sense. MT 27:24 When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I am innocent of this man's blood," he said. "It is your responsibility!" JER 26:12 Then Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people: "The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the things you have heard. 13 Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the LORD your God. Then the LORD will relent and not bring the disaster he has pronounced against you. 14 As for me, I am in your hands; do with me whatever you think is good and right. 15 Be assured, however, that if you put me to death, you will bring the guilt of innocent blood on yourselves and on this city and on those who live in it, for in truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing." 56 | Does not tithing disqualify leadership? | Mal 3:10 | Jensen | 21950
Dear Mommapbs....Please consider this view... AM 4:5 Burn leavened bread as a thank offering and brag about your freewill offerings-- boast about them, you Israelites, for this is what you love to do," declares the Sovereign LORD. I would not worry too much about what other Christians, leaders or not, do about freewill offerings. If there is no hypocrisy on the part of the leader, if the leader does not tithe while encouraging others to do so, then why disqualify the leader? There are plenty of New Testament guidelines for leaders (cf. 1 and 2Timothy, Titus) but tithing is not one of them. You may want to consider... MT 7:3 "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." 57 | unaffordable annulllment-How to? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jensen | 21949
Dear Anglo38-LL...There are scripture verses that cover most, if not all, areas of our lives. We can disagree on those ares where the Bible is not exhaustive. For example EX 20:13 "You shall not murder." is pretty clear. Most orthodox Christians would agree that there are clear directives, or guidelines, for when a marriage may be discharged by means of a divorce. Those reasons are given by Jesus in MT 5:31 "It has been said, "Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce." 32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery." Since the term "divorce" is commonly understood today to be a legal term, the word annulement may be better suited and substituted in the verse above because Jesus was addressing the things that are God's and not the things that are Cesar's. This is also the position of the Roman church. If two people were married in the sight of God, in His church, there are issues they must consider that bear directly on their walk with the Lord. I understand that a person may go through a "church wedding" and not yet be saved. I was one of the many who did just that. But I believe today, since being saved, that God did indeed here our prayers and the prayers of others on that day, that my marriage be blessed by Him. To better help answer the question perhaps you would consider providing more details. What, exactly, is it that you can not afford? Are you speaking of financial issues or issues relating to the person's relationship with God. The time elapsed since a legal divorce may be irrelevant since we are studying the Bible for answers. However there is an issue of estrangement. The Bible will answer "what should they do?" and this Forum may help with the answer if provided a little more detail. God Bless....Jensen |

60 | Finding Mentoring Relationships? | Acts 18:26 | Jensen | 21209
Dear ONERICHWOMAN....Other mentoring relationships may be found between older and younger women, and also between women and children. Titus 2:3-5 "Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." Prov 22:6 "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." I can not offer advice on your concordance search but you may want to invest in a Topical Analysis of the Bible. Mine is by Elwell and is published by Baker. God Bless....Jensen |
