Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. James 1:6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. |

Hunger to know God is a good thing. It is the highest calling we have. (John 17:3, Col. 2:2) How do we know God? We read His word. A person who is slipping in thier faith is one who has stopped feeding thier spirit. Read the scriptures together that you both may be fed. Here are some good ones to help in this current situation. John 3:13, Eph 4:10, John 14:6 - Who can lead us to the Father? Only Jesus knows the way. What is not of faith, is sin, so come boldly by Faith. Rom. 14:23, Heb. 4:16 Deut. 8:3 - The Word of God is our sustenance. We need to eat of it daily - Luke 11:3 Also, God promises that if you seek him with a whole heart he will be found. Is 55:6, Deut. 4:29, Matt. 7:7 Let God purify your heart and clean your hands. Psalm 139:23-25, Psalm 24:3-4 Hopes this is helpful. Praying that you reach your goal! Philippians 3:13-15 (New American Standard Bible) 13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you; Bows44 |

Hi Rainey, As some have previously pointed out, all believers are "anointed" (I think commissioned is a better term) for certain tasks according to Mark 16:15-20 with the promise of Him being with you. See Matthew 28:18-20, Heb. 13:5. I think you are confusing anointing with the gifts or purposes of each in the body. I Cor. 12 teaches on this. We each have a part in the body. God places us in the body as He chooses. You can't get anointed to do anything you are not created and placed in the body by God to do. I wonder what is it exactly that you are trying or wanting to do? Has God called you to teach? Then teach. Has God called you to be a shower of mercy? Then do so cheerfully. See Rom. 12:5-9. Don't try to do someone else's job. You are important as the part that God has created YOU to be. If you know what God has placed you in the body to do, then seek out mentors who can train you to serve God in all Joy and to His Glory in that area. God Bless you as you seek to do His will. 44 | Did God mention his/her gender in bible? | John 8:54 | Bows44 | 149196
Read Mark 12:20-27, then the creation story. And John 4:24. I think you will find that God is neither male or female in the human sense. He is a Spirit and has both female and male attributes. It is a grammar thing to use he. When He is protecting, providing, correcting He is acting as a father, so these are considered to be male attributes. When he is nurturing, teaching, encouraging these are things mothers are known for and therefore these can be considered to be female attributes. This doesn't mean that fathers can't or don't teach. Or that mothers can't or don't correct her children. Studying languages with more obvious masculine and feminine words than English tend to make this concept easier to understand. However, we are created in the image of God. Male and female created he them. Both males and females are in the image of God. When we get to heaven we also will no longer be male or female in the human sense of the word. Kind of a hard concept to grasp, but clearly laid out in scripture. This is a complex concept, not easily explained in this forum, but hopefully this helps some. :-)
45 | help | Luke 11:2 | Bows44 | 149190
Prayer is talking to God and also listening to Him speak to you. It is communication. What we have been learning in our Sunday School class is to deepen our communication with our Lord by meditation on scripture. Take one scripture and read it, speak it, write it, sing it, pray it, then listen to what God says back and write down what you hear. We have been meditating on the Songs of Solomon the past few weeks. It has been absolutely incredible what God has been speaking to me and the others in class. Try it and see what happens! I think you will see your prayer time become more exciting. :-)
46 | Who has been silenced? | Rev 8:1 | Bows44 | 149187
I have been taught that this is when Jesus according to Matt 15:31, Mark 8:38 and Luke 9:26 returns with all the holy angels. Everyone is with Him, so no one is in Heaven for that time, and that is why there is silence in Heaven. You will note that after this the judgements begin. This could be referring to the rapture of the church just before God's wrath is poured out on the earth since Jesus returns in a cloud. See Luke 21:27 Cloud represents angels or group. i.e. cloud of witnesses in Heb 12:1 But it could also mean that everyone is just being quiet and observing what the angels are doing with the incense and prayers because this is such an awesome moment in that it begins the judgements. Hope this helps.
