41 | Have we chosen freely? | James 2:19 | Asis | 87013
If you are going to come to my house and I know it before you show up does it mean that you are not coming to my house of your own free will? It is the same with God. Our election is sure. You didn't choose me I chose you. We, of our own free will, have offered our name up in nomination for the office of believer. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit had a vote and chose you. You became the elect of God. Since it is God's desire that all come to Him, those that offer themselves to Him receive yes votes. It is still my choice that I offer myself up to Him. Many are called but few are chosen. Just one way to think about it. ASIS |

42 | Detailed GkandHeb. meanings for Gentile? | Bible general Archive 1 | Asis | 86891
From the "Complete Wordstudy Bible" 1471. Goy; it originates from gewah (1465). It means person, inhabitant, populace, people, tribe, nation; the non–Israeli or heathen peoples. It is a general word used to refer to nations at large, particularly Gentiles (as distinguished from Jews). Scholars now believe that the basic idea of goy is a defined group of people or a large segment of a given body which is defined by context. The pl. form (goyim) is often used to refer to the pagan nations which surrounded Israel. They were defined politically, ethnically, and territorially (Gen. 10:5). In its general sense the term could even be applied to the descendants of Abraham (Gen. 12:2; 17:20; 21:18). Moses called Israel by that word (Ex. 33:13; Deut. 4:6, 7). Israel was a nation among other nations in the time of Moses, just as she was in Joshua’s time (Josh. 3:17; 4:1; 5:6) and in Jeremiah’s time (Jer. 31:36). The pejorative sense includes uncircumcised nations (Jer. 9:26). Goyim were wicked (Deut. 9:4, 5), abominable (Deut. 18:9; 2 Chr. 33:2), and idolatrous (2 Kgs. 17:29). God, through Moses and the prophets, warned the Israelites not to imitate the other nations (Deut. 32:28; Is. 1:4; Mal. 3:9). God planned to save them through the Messiah (Is. 2:2ff.; 11:10; 42:6; 60:10ff.). This is the Greek 1672. Héllen; gen. Héllenos, masc. proper noun. Greek. Distinction should be made, however, between the Greeks (Héllenes) and the Grecians (Hellenistaí [1675]). The Greeks were the Greeks by birth (Acts 16:1, 3; 18:17), or else Gentiles as opposed to Jews (Rom. 2:9, 10), while the Grecians (Hellenistaí) were foreign Greek–speaking Jews as distinct from those in Palestine who were called Hebrews (Acts 11:20). The Greeks and Hebrews first met when the Tyrians sold the Jews to the Greeks (Joel 3:6). Greece is noted prophetically in Dan. 8:21 where the history of Alexander and his successors is rapidly sketched. Zech. 9:13 foretells the triumphs of the Maccabees over the Graeco–Syrian Empire, while Isaiah looks forward to the conversion of the Greeks, among other Gentiles, through the instrumentality of Jewish missionaries (Is. 66:19). After the complete subjection of the Greeks by the Romans, and the absorption into the Roman Empire of the kingdoms which were formed out of the dominions of Alexander, the political connection between the Greeks and the Jews as two independent nations no longer existed. Rom. 1:14 speaks of “the Greeks and the barbarians” through which latter word reference is made to all those who are not Greeks. The implication is that the Greeks were sophisticated or wise while the others were ignorant. In Acts 18:17, the Greek inhabitants of Corinth are mentioned in distinction from the Jews. This distinction was often in the broadest sense referring to all those who used the Gr. language and customs whether in Greece, Asia Minor, or other countries. As Gr. was the prevailing language, the name “Greek” was often used to designate as Gentiles all those who were not Jews (Acts 16:1, 3; 19:10, 17; 20:21; 21:28; Rom. 1:16; 2:9, 10; 3:9; 10:12; 1 Cor. 1:22–24; 10:32; 12:13; Gal. 2:3; 3:28; Col. 3:11). In Acts 11:20 the TR has Hellenistás (1675), Greek–speaking Jews. In John 7:35, the dispersion of the Hellemnon (Greeks) is the dispersed among the Gentiles (cf. Sept.: Is. 9:11). Greeks are also spoken of as Gentile converts to Judaism or Greek proselytes (John 12:20; Acts 14:1; 17:4; 18:4). As a Jew I can say that it has been my experience that all those who do not believe in Jehovah (the God of the Jews) are considered Gentiles. To the Jew, even us believers do not believe in Jehovah God but in Jesus. Therefore we also are Gentiles. NON JEWS, for only a Jew can believe in Elohym. So to me before you believed you were a gentile and now that you believe you are not. In fact you are a Jew. Romans 2:28-29 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: [29] BUT HE IS A JEW, WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY; AND CIRCUMCISION IS THAT OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT, AND NOT IN THE LETTER; WHOSE PRAISE IS NOT OF MEN, BUT OF GOD. 43 | What happened to the Disciples? | Acts 1:23 | Asis | 86824
They decided to have a meeting and vote on filling the place of Judas Iscariot. Then after being filled with the Holy Ghost and being made apostles they met with the people and had church. Now they didn't have bulletins or a praise team, but they gathered with the new believers in the temple at Solomon's porch. There they told the believers about their experiences with Jesus (Acts 2:42-47). It is by our witness that we lead people to the Lordship of Jesus the Messiah. Acts 3:11 You don't have to have your name in a book to show people Jesus. Just pray and be filled with the Holy Spirit. |

A temple, with the middle wall of partition broken down (2:14). "He is our peace." Two courts -- one. ["For He is our Peace, Who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us" (Ephesians 2:14).] 5. One new man (2:15). ["Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the Law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain One New Man, so making peace" (Ephesians 2:15).] A very remarkable expression, nowhere else used. 6. One household of God (2: 19). ["Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household (Greek, oikeios) of God" (Ephesians 2:19).] Oikeios, members of one household. 7. One building or temple (2:20, 22). ["20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the Chief Corner Stone; 22 in Whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit" (Ephesians 2:20, 22).] In this case with reference to the one foundation, etc., and one habitation of God through the Spirit. 8. Fellow heirs (3:6). ["That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His Promise in Christ by the Gospel" (Ephesians 3:6).] Co-heirs, participators of one inheritance. 9. Family (3:15). ["Of whom the whole family (Greek, patria) in Heaven and Earth is named" (Ephesians 3:15).] Patria, tribe or race from one father -- an amplification and expansion of the idea of one household. 10. One body and one Spirit (4:4). ["There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling" (Ephesians 4:4).] The septi-form of unity is contained in chapter 4, one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father. ["4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One LORD, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, Who is above all, and through all, and in you all" (Ephesians 4:4-6).] 11. The bride, or wife (5:22-23). 12. The panoply (6:10 and the following verses). All true believers are wearing the same armor, and panoplied in the same divine power. This unity with Christ and in Him is in this epistle made to depend on our partaking of His Spirit, and hence the prominence of the Holy Spirit, to whom the references are very frequent and varied: 1:13. That Holy Spirit of promise whereby we are sealed ["In Whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of Promise" (Ephesians 1:13).] 1:17. The Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him ["That the God of our LORD Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give unto you the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the Knowledge of Him" (Ephesians 1:17).] 1:19-20. The Spirit of power who wrought in Christ and raised Him from the dead ["19 And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, 20 which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the Heavenly Places" (Ephesians 1:19-20).] 2:18. The Spirit of access, by whom we have access to the Father ["For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father" (Ephesians 2:18).] 2:22. The Spirit of inhabitation whereby God dwells in us ["In Whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit" (Ephesians 2:22).] 3:5. The Spirit of revelation of the mystery of Christ ["Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit" (Ephesians 3:5).] 3:16. The Spirit of strength and might in the inner man ["That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man" (Ephesians 3:16).] 4:4. The Spirit of unity in the body ["There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling" (Ephesians 4:4).] 5:9. The Spirit of fruitfulness in all goodness ["(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)" (Ephesians 5:9).] |

Part 2 AT Pierson In Christ Let us first of all glance at the teachings here contained as to this unity of saints in Christ Jesus. To begin with, the conception of Christ, as the sphere of all holy living, implies this unity. This sphere is invisible, however real, and our entrance into it and our abiding in it are not therefore matters of sense. Our place in it has to be obtained or received through the Spirit's working, and recognized or perceived through the Spirit's teaching. We must also recognize the place of other saints in the same sphere, by the same spiritual discernment. As we come into contact with true fellow believers and perceive in them the Christ image -- as we see that they breathe the same air and live the same life, that they also belong to Christ and partake also of His Spirit, our conception of the unity of all believers in Him grows continually in vividness of impression. We cannot help our love going out to them; to whatever different sphere they may belong, in family, social, or national life, they belong with us to that supreme sphere which is celestial and eternal. And here is the only real hope of unity in the Church: it is found in the recognition of our mutual relation to Christ, and in Him to each other -- as our Lord prayed, "that they also may be one in us" (John 17:21). The spheres of family life, social life, church life, and national life are all visible, and they impress us with a vivid sense of our unity, as brothers, neighbors, fellow church members, fellow citizens. But, to a true child of God, the invisible bond that unites all believers to Christ is far more tender, and lasting, and precious; and, as we come to recognize and realize that we are all dwelling in one sphere of life in Him, we learn to look on every believer as our brother, in a sense that is infinitely higher than all human relationships. This is the one and only way to bring disciples permanently together. All other plans for promoting the unity of the Church have failed. Let us live more and more in Christ, and then we shall and must live more and more in the bonds of a holy love and peace. It must be first of all the unity of the Spirit. This unity in Christ is so prominent in this epistle that we must not lightly pass it by. Besides the general conception of Christ as the sphere of holy life, common to all these epistles, we shall find the following other figures used here to express the same thought: 1. The body of which He is the Head and we the members (1:22-23; 2:16; 4:12-16). ["22 And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the Head over all things to the church, 23 which is His Body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all" (Ephesians 1:22-23). "And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the Cross, having slain the enmity thereby" (Ephesians 2:16). "12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 but speaking the Truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the Head, even Christ: 16 from Whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love" (Ephesians 4:12-16).] 2. God's workmanship (2:10). ["For we are His workmanship (Greek, poiema), created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10).] Poiema -- same word as in Romans 1:20, ["For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made (Greek, poiema), even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse" (Romans 1:20).] a creation with a definite purpose, or object, and we, all, parts of that sphere of creation -- "God's poem". 3. A commonwealth (2:12). ["That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth (Greek, politeia) of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of Promise, having no hope, and without God in the world" (Ephesians 2:12).] Politeia -- a community in which we are citizens, introduced into it by the blood (2:19). ["Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God" (Ephesians 2:19).] |

PART 1 A.T. PIERSON In Christ The Epistle to the Ephesians The very first verse contains the expression, "faithful in Christ Jesus," and the third verse furnishes the key to this epistle in one short sentence, comprising the sum of all its exalted teaching: "Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenlies in Christ." This letter to the Ephesians lifts us to the very summit, the third heaven of privilege, and is especially rich in that phrase which we are now devoutly tracing throughout the New Testament. We find here at least ten separate uses or combinations of the words in Christ or in Him, as applied to the present estate of the believer, and as exhibiting His possible heavenly life even while on earth; and there is one besides which refers to coming blessing. These features of this epistle we shall find singularly true also of the companion Epistle to the Colossians. In this epistle we are declared to be, in Christ, ["Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 1:1).] chosen, ["According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love" (Ephesians 1:4).] predestinated to the adoption of children, ["Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will" (Ephesians 1:5.] accepted; ["To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved" (Ephesians 1:6).] to have redemption and forgiveness, ["In Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace" (Ephesians 1:7).] to be quickened or made alive, ["And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins" (Ephesians 2:1).] raised, ["And hath raised us up together" (Ephesians 2:6).] seated in the heavenlies; ["And made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:6).] to have been sealed and to have obtained an inheritance: ["13 In Whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of Promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory" (Ephesians 1:13-14).] these are the ten present blessings, and the one, yet future, is that in Him we are to be gathered together in one, with all saints, at His coming. The peculiar truth thus introduced to our view in this epistle is, therefore, the heavenly nature and divine fulness of this sphere of the new life. When by faith we enter into Christ, the life we are introduced into, is not earthly, but essentially heavenly. It is not to be confounded with joys and privileges which are of this world, however pure and lawful. In Christ we are lifted above the level even of saintly communion as such. Our human ties and relations with God's own people are very precious, but that of which the Spirit here treats is something higher than the human relation which disciples sustain here to each other. We ascend in thought above the Church on earth, with its assemblies of saints, its sacraments, ordinances, and fellowship; here we are viewed as one with Christ and one in Christ. He, indeed, in heaven, and we on earth; yet our life in Him a heavenly life because it is in Him who is in heaven. Hence the word "places," supplied by the translators, may mislead, for we are not as yet in heavenly places but in earthly places, though we may and ought to be in heavenly states of mind, heart, and experience. The difference is not a mere verbal distinction. A devout woman whom I once visited, to condole with her on the recent departure of an aged and most saintly mother, said to me with a smile: "For forty years, my dear mother's mind has been in heaven." And I could not but recall those exquisite lines of Goldsmith: Like some tall cliff that lifts its awful form, Swells from the vale but midway leaves the storm, Though round its breast the rolling clouds are spread, Eternal sunshine settles on its head. While yet in the body and on earth, the mind and heart may be in heaven; we ought to be essentially living on a higher, celestial level. This is the grand possibility and privilege to which the Holy Spirit turns our eyes. And, as all saints are, alike, in Christ Jesus, they are all in Him one. This thought of our unity in Christ runs side by side with the other, of our high privilege in Him, throughout these chapters. In fact, this unity is itself one of the most exalted forms of this heavenly life, and is more emphasized here than perhaps anywhere else, more figures being here employed to give it expression than in the whole New Testament besides. |

47 | resisting temptation | Ps 119:11 | Asis | 86777
Hello tms57mi Temptation is not sin. It is when we yield to the temptation that we sin. It is when the thought comes (temptation) that the battle begins in your mind. If we continue to think on the thought (temptation) it will blosom into lust for the thought and become sin (James 1:12-18). If we decide not to give in to the thought but rely on God's truth to see us through, we will not give in. God has promised that there is no temptaion that will come on us that is not common to all men. There is no unique temptation. We have all been through them. God says He is faithful, He is trustworthy Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? If He says it, He'll do it. If He said it, it is true. He says He will not allow a temptation to come upon you which you are not capable of handling. If I am tempted to say smoke some weed I know that I must be able to overcome that temptation or God would not have allowed it to come upon me. That is what His word says. God knows that I have the will to choose Him over the temptation. He says He will provide the escape from the temptation. So if I am tempted in any area of my life I KNOW that I am able to endure the temptation because GOD has provided the escape and He has said I AM ABLE to overcome it. This form of trial comes upon us everyday. As we choose God we have an experience that His word is true. That experience leads us to endurance. We got through the temptaion once before, we can get thrpough it again. As we endure we have hope, a confident expectation of a kn own outcome, that at the next rial, temptation, God will be faithfull and by choosing Him we will OVERCOME. Believe God. He said it, it is true I hope that I have helped you to see how to choose God over the temptations that come into our lives. Choose God Let His peace rule in your life ASIS |

49 | Legalism? | Rom 7:6 | Asis | 86067
Leagalism is: strict, literal, or excessive conformity to the law or to a religious or moral code (the institutionalized legalism that restricts free choice) (Merriam-Webster). Legalism is when we say if you do it this way it is right, but only this way. It is, "Here are the rules. Do it like this because this is the only way." The Law bound us to the rules. Jesus freed us from the bondage of the Law. Yet we can bring people into bondage by making the law of liberty a set of rules. For instance, we could say if you are not baptized you are not saved. If you don't speak in tongues you are not saved. God will not answer you prayers unless you are on your knees and end it with "In the name of Jesus." If your arms are not strtched to the limit then you have not raised your hands. Et certra, et cetera, etcetera. Rom. 7:6 (NASB) 6But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter. 2 Cor. 3:5 through 2 Cor. 3:6 (NASB) 5Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, 6who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Following the letter of scripture and leaving out the spirit of scripture is legalism. examples are aany of the objections raised by the Pharasees about Jesus doing anything on the sabbath. 50 | Justification? | Rom 2:13 | Asis | 86059
Greetings Elijahprophet If I believe it is not going to rain, I have faith that it is not going to rain, but if I take an umbrella when I go out, my works do not support my belief? So did I really have faith? If I am justified by faith, and yet walk, act, as if I am a sinner do I have faith that I am justified (just as if I never sinned or just as if sin never was,[I prefer the latter])? If my actions, my words, my work reflects my belief that I am justified through faith in Jesus, then it is true. But if my actions, my walk, my work reflect that I am carrying an umbrella then I really don't believe. If you believe what you read in scripture then your life will reflect the word. You will be the living word. Boy, I bet that sentence gets me in trouble. James is telling us that it is how we live, how we work, our performance that shows our faith. Rom. 2:13 (NASB) 13for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified. Rom. 3:21 through Rom. 3:26 (NASB) 21But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 25whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; 26for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Jesus has fulfilled the Law. Through faith in Him we have become the righteousness of God. All that God has said before has become manifested, made known, made apparent, shown openly in you, us who believe. If you really believe what God has said, then you will live like it. WORKS. I hope that this has helped you. your brother Asis |

If such blessings are the will of God for one man, they are for all men alike who will have faith for them, because there is no partiality in the gospel. There must be a sermon in there somewhere. 54 | Classes of angels | John 19:42 | Asis | 85672
Part 3 and the last part. 5.Satan's angels. They are made subject to Christ (1 Peter 3:22); are sinful and rebellious (Job 4:18; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6-7; Rev. 12:7-9); evil (Psalm 78:49); to be punished (Isaiah 24:21-23; Isaiah 25:7; Matthew 24:41; Jude 1:6-7); to be cast out of heaven (Rev. 12:7-9); will fight against Christ at Armageddon (Isaiah 24:21-23; Isaiah 25:7; Rev. 12:7-9; Rev. 19:11-21); are organized into principalities and powers (Ephes. 1:21; Ephes. 3:10; Ephes. 6:10-17; Col. 2:10,15; Rev. 12:7-12). They deceive men (2 Cor. 11:14); oppose saints (Romans 8:38; Ephes. 6:10-18); fell originally with Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:11-17; Matthew 24:41; Rev. 12:7-12); hell is prepared for them (Matthew 24:41). 6.There are two classes of fallen angels: those bound (2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6-7; Rev. 9:11,14; Rev. 11:7; Rev. 17:8) and those who are still loose with Satan and who will be cast down to the earth in the middle of Daniel's seventieth week in the future tribulation (Rev. 12:7-12; Ephes. 6:10-17). See the reason some of Satan's angels are now bound (Genesis 6:1-4; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6-7). 7.Appearances of angels to men (see Appearances of Angels to Men.) b[ministers] Hebrew: sharath (HSN-8334), servants. Human ministers of God is the reference, not angels. The word is translated servant 5 times and minister (62 times as verb, and 17 times as a noun). Almost without exception it is used of the priests and Levites of the tabernacle and temple worship, and of the servants of Israel's kings (Psalm 104: Psalm Psalm 4; Psalm 103:21; Ezra 8:17; Isaiah 61:6; Jeremiah 33:21; Ezekiel 44:11; Ezekiel 45:4-5; Ezekiel 46:24; Joel 1:9,13; Joel 2:17). Ministers of the gospel are successors of the O.T. ministers (Luke 1:2; 1 Cor. 3:5; 1 Cor. 4:1; 2 Cor. 3:6; 2 Cor. 6:4; Hebrews 1:7). c[flaming fire] Ministers a Flame of Fire The word for "flaming" here is Hebrew: lahat (HSN-3857), to blaze or set on fire. The word is used of the flaming sword of the cherubim who guarded the way of the tree of life (Genesis 3:24); of the wicked being burned up at Armageddon (Malachi 4:1); of fire burning the wicked rebels in Israel (Psalm 106:18); of a flame burning up trees (Psalm 83:14; Joel 1:19); of hell fire punishing the wicked (Deut. 32:22); of bitter anger speaking forth (Psalm 57:4); of bitter anger in battle (Isaiah 42:25); and of the fury of Satan (Job 41:21). It can be seen from these uses that God's ministers being a flame of fire means that they are to be so full of zeal and the anointing of the Spirit that nothing can stand before them (John 2:17). Those in ministry are to have absolute authority and power over all the works of the devil (Matthew 18:18; Mark 16:17-18; Luke 10:19; Luke 24:49; John 14:12-15; Acts 1:4-8; 1 Cor. 4:20; 1 Cor. 12:4-8) and represent God among men, as exemplified by Christ, the apostles and early believers. This is the end. Lots of Scripture to check out I hope this helps. |

56 | Classes of angels | John 19:42 | Asis | 85669
Here is a little information I found in Dake's Annotated Bible. Be a Berean. Just because someone wrote it in a Bible doesn't make it true. Let the Holy Spirit be you teacher. This will probably take two posts. Asis Psalm 104:4 a [angels spirits] The Spirit World The word "spirit" is found 551 times in Scripture. From these references, the 297 times "angel" is found, and from over 20,000 others about God who is a spirit being, we learn all there is to know about the spirit world—all the various kinds of spirit beings that inhabit the unseen material worlds in space and under the earth (Phil. 2:10; Rev. 5:3,13). Ten Kinds of Spirit Beings Besides God: 1. Seraphim (Isaiah 6:1-7) 2. Cherubim (Genesis 3:24; Ezekiel 1:5-28; Ezekiel 8:1-4; Ezekiel 10:1-22) 3. Zoa, or Living Creatures (Rev. 4:6-5:14; Rev. 6:1-8; Rev. 7:11; Rev. 14:3,9-11; Rev. 15:7; Rev. 19:4) 4. Spirit animals shaped like the fleshly ones we have on earth (2 Kings 2:11-12; 2 Kings 6:13-17; Zech. 1:8-11; Zech. 6:1-8; Romans 1:20; 2 Cor. 12:1-4; Rev. 19:11-21) 5. Archangels, or chief angels who rule kingdoms and planets (Col. 1:15-18; 1 Thes. 4:16; Jude 1:9) (1) Michael, one of the chief princes, the prince of Israel (Daniel 10:13,21; Daniel 11:1; Daniel 12:1; 1 Thes. 4:16; Jude 1:9; Rev. 12:7-9) (2) Gabriel, who stands before God (Daniel 8:16-19; Daniel 9:20-23; Daniel 10:8-11:1; Luke 1:19,26) (3) Lucifer, the original ruler of the planet earth and present pseudo-ruler of man's dominion on earth (Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:11-17; Matthew 4:1-11; Luke 10:18; Ephes. 2:2; Rev. 12:7-9). See The Doctrine of Satan. (4) Unnamed princes of Persia and Grecia (Daniel 10:13-11:1; Rev. 11:7; Rev. 17:8) 6. Common angels (see notes below) 7. Demons (see note, §Psalm 106:37) 8. Demon locusts (Rev. 9:1-11) 9. Demon horsemen (Rev. 9:12-21) 10. The inner man, or soul and spirit of human beings (see Spirit). Definition and Usage of "Angel": The word literally means messenger and is used of Christ, angels, and people. 1. Christ, the second Person of the Trinity appeared to men as the messenger of God (1 Cor. 10:4,9; 1 Cor. 11:3). He is called: (1) The angel of God (Genesis 21:17; Genesis 31:11; Exodus 3:2; Judges 6:20; Judges 13:9; Acts 27:23) (2) The angel of the Lord (Genesis 16:7-11; Genesis 22:11,15; Exodus 14:19; Numbers 22:22-35; Judges 2:1,4; Judges 6:11-12,21-22; Judges 13:3-6,13-21; 2 Kings 1:3,15; 2 Kings 19:35; 1 Chron. 21:12-30; Psalm 34:7; Psalm 35:5-6; Isaiah 37:36; Zech. 1:9-19; Zech. 3:1-6; Zech. 12:8; Acts 7:30-38). In all other places where "the angel of the Lord" is found, the term refers to ordinary angels, as in Matthew 1:20,24; Matthew 2:13,19; Matthew 28:2-5; Luke 1:11-38; Luke 2:9-21; Acts 5:19; Acts 8:26; Acts 10:3; Acts 12:7-23. (3) His angel (Genesis 24:7,40; Exodus 23:20; Exodus 33:2; Numbers 20:16; 2 Chron. 32:21; Daniel 3:28; Daniel 6:22) (4) The angel (Genesis 48:16; Eccles. 5:6; Hosea 12:4) (5) Mine angel (Exodus 23:23; Exodus 32:34) (6) Angel of His presence (Isaiah 63:9) (7) Angel (Rev. 8:3-5; Rev. 10:1-11:3) 2. The word angel is used of common angels in Psalm 104:4. 3. It is used of men in Rev. 1:1,20; Rev. 2:1,8,12,18; Rev. 3:1,7,14; Rev. 19:9,10; Rev. 22:6-8,16. In other places it is nearly always clear that common angels who are spirit beings and heavenly creatures are referred to. End of part 1 |

57 | Did Jesus have anxiety? | 1 John 4:18 | Asis | 85405
Good evening mommapbs Anxiety is 1 a : painful or apprehensive uneasiness of mind usually over an impending or anticipated ill b : fearful concern or interest c : a cause of anxiety 2 : an abnormal and overwhelming sense of apprehension and fear often marked by physiological signs (as sweating, tension, and increased pulse), by doubt concerning the reality and nature of the threat, and by self-doubt about one's capacity to cope with it The thing about Jesus that separates Him from us is the way he dealt life. He was without sin not without feelings. He suffered every temptation we suffer, only He never gave in to any temptation. When the trials came He went to God. He didn't read a book or listen to a tape or ask a rabbi, He prayed to GOD. He prayed to the Father three times to take the cup from Him. He was so intense that He sweat blood. Luke 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. [KJV] agonia: a struggle (properly the state), i.e. (figurative) anguish :- agony. But regardless how He felt about what He was going to face He WAS OBEDIENT. Obedient unto death even the death of the cross. The sin of Adam was rebellion, disobedience to God. Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. [KJV] Our restoration by Jesus was obedience to God. By His suffering He learned obedience. Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; [KJV] After asking three times He set His face toward the cross. The stuggle, agony, anguish over. Peace and determination replaced any other thought. HE TRUSTED IN THE LORD! How do we deal with the trials in life which cause us agony? Do we trust in the Lord? Jesus is our model, He has shown us Kingdom behavior. Cast all your cares upon Jesus because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Trust in the LORD with ALL your heart; and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). He will see you through just as He saw Jesus through. |

58 | will we receive persecutions? | Mark 10:30 | Asis | 85342
Jbw The Holy Bible, New International Version Mark 10:24 through Mark 10:31 (NIV) 24The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is (Mark 10:24 Some manuscripts is for those who trust in riches) to enter the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 26The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?” 27Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” 28Peter said to him, “We have left everything to follow you!” 29“I tell you the truth,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life. 31But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” We must take scripture in context, that is look at it in the situation in which it was spoken or written. Jesus has just had a discussion with the rich young ruler who couldn’t give up his riches to follow Jesus. He loved them (his riches) too much. Jesus says money can cause us to take our eyes off God. Then He says man can save no one but with God all things are possible. Then the disciples said, “Hey wait a minute, we gave up everything to follow you. We gave up our jobs I had a fishing boat, he had a great tax collecting business, he was working with his ole man and making good money. What about us, we gave it all up to follow you. What do we get?” Its not about getting. Its about commitment to Jesus. Give it all up (Phil. 3:7 through Phil. 3:9 (NIV) 7But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.) for Him and your reward will be much greater than anything you can attain in this world. He then tells then it doesn’t matter when you choose to follow Him, 30 years ago or a minute ago the reward is the same. I know there are those out there who have a much better handle on the meaning of these scriptures maybe some will respond and give you more points of view. |

59 | Did appearance change with language? | Gen 2:7 | Asis | 85333
Greetings jbw There are no ignorant questions just ignorant answers and this is one of those ignorant answers. By the way, never stop asking questions. Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, . . . [KJV] I heard a preacher once say he couldn't understand why we fight among the races. After all we all have the same mother . . . DIRT. There are five kinds of dirt. Black dirt, yellow dirt, white dirt, brown dirt, and red dirt and five races. Seriously the bible doesn't address these kinds of wonders directly. And actually, I have pondered the same kinds of questions. For instance, did the last Adam look like the first Adam? In the scope of things what matters is our belief that what God says in His word is truth. How is our heart towards God? Do we have a pride issue? Is there anything I love more than Jesus? These are the questions that change lives. Although I still wonder why I take more bags of garbage out to the curb than bags of groceries in from the car. Does anyone know? |

60 | If Gen 1,2 are not true, then what is? | Gen 1:27 | Asis | 85258
Radioman2 "If Genesis chapter 1 and chapter 2 don't tell us the truth, then why should we believe anything else in the Bible?" Isn't that the point. The real discussion is about "Is there absolute truth?" The religion of "science" is trying to explain the workings of God's creation without acknowledging God. Whenever a "new" discovery is made it changes all the "truth" that came before. We even go so far as to explain the realness of the bible by what is called Biblical Archeology. Even though archeology tries to put artifacts into the mold that is already made. The fact is, there is only one ABSOLUTE TRUTH! GOD IS and the Bible is His word. Well maybe two Num. 23:19 (NASB) 19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? |
