281 | What is the meaning of "the order of..." | Heb 1:1 | skccab | 209840
Shalom John, Just that time of year, thinking a lot on the priestly things :-) You're probably right about the Dt. 29:29 - guess I'll just put it on the back burner for now. Maybe it will become clearer some time later... Thanks for the help though... Along with the possiblity of Melchezidek (Hebrew Malki - king Tz'edek - righteouness)being the incarnate Son, how about Shem? They were contemporaries...??? Just something to chew on.... Cheri |

282 | What is the meaning of "the order of..." | Heb 1:1 | skccab | 209838
Doc, Thanks for answering, but there still remains the one question - what was/is the "order of Meschezidek"? Why was our Master compared to him? I can see the similarities and contrasts with the Levitical order, but Melchezidek I don't really see. This is probably one of those questions that I'm just looking at too closely to see the answer for myself... :-) Cheri |

285 | What is the meaning of "the order of..." | Not Specified | skccab | 209823
Shalom y'all, Meta brought this up in one of his posts, but I didn't want him to think I was "picking" on him over it - it just got me to wondering. I've spent the last 10 days trying to figure out the "order of Melchezidek" and the "Levitical order." That is what "the order" is and what does the word "order" pertain to? What I've come up with is this: Levitical order - animal, concurrant, continuous (almost like a 1 Jn. 1:9 prayer but a sacrifice instead) Melchezidek - himself, once (only he never did offer himself so why is it called the Order of Melchedizek?) Still have some work to do....:-) Anyone have something else? I'd be interested to know. Cheri |

290 | Will every man hear the gospel? | Ps 19:1 | skccab | 209761
Kcab, Well, then, thank you kindly. I'm actually glad to be the one who was wrong in this case :-) for it means you were not being deceitful - and that's a very good thing. It is sometimes difficult to properly weigh what someone means when it's just words that we have to deal with. Being in person in the world to come is going to be so much nicer, isn't it? I'm sure we will all find each other and sit in a big circle as we get to know one another! (About a million years after we get there!!) Cheri |

291 | Will every man hear the gospel? | Ps 19:1 | skccab | 209756
Shalom Kcab, Forgiveness isn't an issue, I just stated a point as it appeared to me. It seemed to me you already had taken a position on the subject prior to asking the question. If I was wrong, then YOU forgive ME!! And we'll just start over again. Yes? Yet, my answer does remain the same, just as stjohn told you in a later post - salvation is free, by the Grace of God, if baptism is part of the equation, then the gift of salvation is no longer a gift, nor is it free, we have worked for and earned it. Baptism is an act of obedience to a command of our King, nothing more, nothing less. Cheri |

293 | Will every man hear the gospel? | Ps 19:1 | skccab | 209741
Kcab, I coulodn't tell you the explanation on that. But I do believe that adding baptism to the equation takes away the "free" from salvation by the Grace of God and adds a "works" to it. And asking a question when you already have an answer and an argument for a given position is NOT a good thing. :-) Cheri |

294 | Will every man hear the gospel? | Ps 19:1 | skccab | 209738
Kcab, Salvation and baptism are 2 entirely different things. Baptism is an act of obedience, but not of salvation - you can be saved and never get baptised (you'll be disobedient but saved). The "pew christian" is one who believes that there is a God and who is not Jewish, Muslim, Hindi or any of those other things so by default they consider themselves "christian" but they know next to nothing about Jesus or God or the Holy Spirit. They go to church every week because that's the thing to do, to be seen by the community, etc. They have never accepted the Lord as their personal Lord and Savior. It's sad, but America has many of these people. Hope this helped explain what was confusing you.... Cheri |

Good afternoon sister (It is afternoon for you isn't it?) Ego and pride are definitely what get in the way of so many blessings. And ususally they lead us in the wrong direction anyway. So we just nail them to the cross before we begin posting here and we'll just be blessed and blessed and be a blessing! (It took me a while to figure that one out :-) ). Cheri |

Shalom dear one, You didn't offend me in the least. I am simply one who has been "hurt" by some of the folks here, myself. So I can tell you that they do not intend to do that, hurting is not what they are about. Teaching, edifying, building up and all that is good is what they are about. You will find that some of the strongest, wisest, and most loving people around are right here on SBF, and you will be so blessed to be a part of this godly family. So, like I said before, stick around and grow with us, and don't worry about what has gone on before. Brand new day - tomorrow is. :-) Cheri |

Shalom meta, And shalom means more than just "peace," it means completeness, wholeness, nothing lacking. I pray God's shalom for you. You have come upon a wonderful place to converse God's Word with other people. There are numerous "regulars" here and what's so wonderful about them is that they are truely people who have given the Lord of their time and efforts and they have much to share with the rest of us. There are all kinds of different personalities, but each and everyone of them has the Mind of Messiah working strongly in them. I've learned and most will agree with me that when you come to the door to enter in here, you need to hang your ego and pride outside the door. Here we are all one, equal. Everyone has something to share and everyone has much to learn. Stay around and study the Word with us, Please!! Cheri |
