281 | When does caressing go too far ? | 2 Corinthians | inmyheart | 52866
"So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come." 2Corinthians 5:16-17 (NIV). "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies." Ephesians 5:25-28 (NIV). Knowing how the enemy wants to pervert the things of God? Is when you begin to question where that fine line is! Loving and lusting are two worlds apart, I hear what you are saying. I was caught up in all of what you are saying. I even justified my actions by reading Song of Songs :) but come on now, I was looking for my fix, I wanted that old nature, just one more time :) Praise God, that old devil is a liar! I have LEARNED that I can do ALL things through Christ :) His good will. In closing, the husband and wife's body belongs to the Lord! "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2 (NIV). I know you know what I'm saying, amen? Just let go and let God! :) God's Grace and Mercy, He loves you! |

283 | Psalm 139 Why I still insecure? | NT general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 52098
Hello lialia1212, I commend you for being open about your situation. I encourage you to continue seeking God for your answers. This is the very reason that God sent His Son Jesus, to be the atonement for our sins and to transform us by the renewing of our minds.(Romans 12:1-2) Your past life holds no value to where God is leading you, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2Corinthians 5:17). God wants you to have faith in him, trusting that He will lead you to your destination, in the completion He already sees you in, "being CONFIDENT of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6). Put your trust in God and His Word. I pray that you seek council from your pastor to help give you the guidance you seek. God bless you my friend, God Loves You! |

284 | What is good works and how are they defi | Matthew | inmyheart | 51878
Matthew 5:16 is saying we should let our works be done so that God is glorified when men see our works, rather than attracting attention to ourselves! What equals good works, walking as Christ, only as you can walk, as stated in Ephesians 2:10. God bless |

285 | Why are we sealed? | Ephesians | inmyheart | 51876
gnikool, Ephesians 1:11, In whom also we have obtained an "inheritance," being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will. Now read verse 12. Verse 13, In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were "sealed" with that holy Spirit of promise. In other words, God deposited into you an "inheritance" and "sealed" that promise "in" you with the Holy Spirit. Have you ever seen a letter sealed with wax and stamped with an insignia, indicating who the sender is? Well the wax is the Holy Spirit and the Insignia is God. The day is coming (soon) when He will withdraw what He deposited :) and that's a guarantee. you can take that to the bank! God bless |

287 | If the house is "worthy"? | Matt 10:13 | inmyheart | 51766
Cheryl What is being spoken of here is; How they were to provide for themselves. They should expect God to meet their needs, without taking undue concern for their own needs; but they should expect that God would normally meet their needs through the inspired hospitality of others. those who do receive these disciples can expect to be blessed ("let your peace come upon it"); but those cities who refuse them can expect to be treated as Gentiles (shake off the dust from your feet), and are in grave danger of judgement. Even though the twelve can expect their needs to be met through the people they minister to, they should never require their needs to be met as "payment". The foundational principle is "Freely you have received, freely give." God's blessings Cheryl |

288 | Where do I go from here? | 2 Pet 3:4 | inmyheart | 51719
Treadway I was born a sinner, raise a sinner, I dutifully went to church when someone married or died. I didn't even know people actually owned a bible, but to read it also, wow! However, I am truly grateful that Jesus came the first time :) All the topics you refer to are relevent to our lives, and so is Living for Him. To know that Christ return is at hand, prompts me to reach out to others, while at the same time God is re-arranging my life, to trust every word that He inspired the writers of the old and new testament to write. To understand that what He says is true, not matter what I think. (Romans 3:4) I said all that because I want to encourage you to continue your study of His word, knowing that with God all things are possible. And the Counselor, Holy Spirit, is able to make known the mystery of His will toward us (Ephesians 1:9). God Loves you, may He bless you as you search the scriptures. |

God's Blessings The Word of God says, "I will never leave you nor will I forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5) "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or and other blemish, but holy and blameless. 291 | WHAT DOES CHPT6 VS 3 MEAN IN GENISIS | Genesis | inmyheart | 51601
Greetings, Genesis 6:3-4, God's response to this great wickedness God "first" promises that His Spirit shall not strive with man forever, this means that there is a "point of no return" in our rejection of God. God will not woo us forever, there's a point where He will say "no more" All the more reason for us to say that today is the day we will respond to Jesus, instead of waiting for another day. We have no promise that God will draw us then! Said that, to say this God also "promises" that "his days will be one hundred and twenty years," not that this is the outside life span of man, but that this is the time left until the flood! God bless you as you study God's word |

292 | why can't a christian dink or dance | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 51476
How about, "because I don't want to" but lets get real here, first of all who are your friends that you speak of? If you are speaking of people of the world well, they will never understand you. The Word says for us not to be drunk with wine, where in is excess; but be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) Dancing only glorifies the flesh, we are to glorify God. David glorified God in dance! On the other hand, WHAT DOES YOUR FRIENDS SAY WHEN YOU ASK THEM WHY YOU DON'T COME TO BIBLE STUDY AND CHURCH Save yourself a lot of headaches and see how close you can get to God and not how close you can get to the world. Choices, it about Choices. God bless you my friend |

293 | What do you do as "saints" when you fall | Hebrews | inmyheart | 51398
Greetings You're going to get a lot of response on this question! Let me start by saying that God is the one who calls us "SAINTS", He is also the one who will "never" leave us nor "forsake" us.(Hebrews 13:5) The Word mentions in Proverbs 24:16, "For "a" just "man" falleth "seven" times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall "fall" into mischief." After reading the scripture that I just wrote, are you a "just" man or a wicked man? We are "in" Christ Jesus and God calls us "RIGHTEOUS". Out of the abundance of the "heart" speaks the mouth (Luke 6:45), you stated that you are realizing just how hard it is to be a Christian, well in our own mind that might be true because we are faced with situations that we are not familiar with, and it may seem hard at the moment, until we get our break through, then we realize that we've beat ourselves up for nothing. I would like for you to read Matthew 11:28-30, Let me quote what Jesus says in verse 30, "For my yoke is "easy" and my burden is light", do you see "hard" in there at all? No you don't and I"m not suggesting that we float through this life expecting no problems or that all of our experiences will be pleasureable. What I am saying to you my friend is that you are in the process of having your minds "renewed" (Romans 12:2) Our Lord is changing us day by day, because we are not able to "Kingdom walk" with our old way of thinking, we need the mind of Christ, and my friend the Word of God declares that you "have" the "mind of Christ" (1Corinthians 2:16)! What do you do when as a "saint" when you fall down? Get back up! Don't let the enemy discourage you! We are not bad people trying to be good, but we are sinners saved by Grace! The problem is not what you fall down for, those are your solutions for the problem, the wrong solutions. The problems lays within in ourselves, and the Lord is doing a work in your life to rid you of those problems (hurts, pains, sufferings, etc.) to bring a closure of those areas that we continue to carry, now that's hard! God has set you free, but He is also making you free (when you come to those situations). Finally beloved, rejoice and be thankful because you are being real about your situation, so many "saints" want to "act" as if there is no problems in there life. Never forget, God called you because you have a purpose and a destiny. He Loves you and He'll take you to your destination. God is the author of your Faith, and He is the Finisher of your Faith (Hebrews 12:2) He sees you in the His completed work in your life. So much so, that God wrote "your" name in THE BOOK OF LIFE. God Bless you my friend, it has been my pleasure to respond to you! |

294 | Holy Spirit evidence of Salvation? | Acts 2:38 | inmyheart | 51360
Mommapbs, Greetings Well I'm back. Let me say I was prepared to answer your question, then I read your post to Robert. Then I read your post as you suggested him to do. Now I have two questions to answer. First of all, refering to your post, 'water baptism unnecessary for conversion', you stated "after his encounter with the Lord, Saul (Paul) was in Damascus for THREE DAYS (ACT 9:9) prior to being (water) baptized!" Was he "unsaved" during this time? My answer is yes, Paul was not yet converted (saved). Act 22:12, Paul notes that it was Ananias, A man with credentials as a good Jew who received him into the faith that is in Christ. Verse 14 Ananias explains the will of the Father. Verse 15 his calling. Verse 16 Paul is baptized that same day! However, is baptism necessary for salvation? Well, your reference is Act 2:38, while baptism with water was the EXPECTED symbol for conversion, it was not an criterion for salvation. We are not addressing the fact whether the Holy Spirit is given AFTER or before baptism, we are addressing receiving the "gift of the Holy Spirit." Act 2:39 is saying, The Promise is to you: then, the "GIFT" of the Holy Spirit will be given to them as it was given to the original group of disciples: and as it will be given to succeeding generations of those who believe. Back to Act 2:38, Peter gives them something to "do" in response to their question. This means that we must "do" something to be saved; we must 'do" something to follow Jesus. It doesn't just "happen." notice I mentioned "do" and not "work". Even in the act of "repent" we must "do" something, e.g. turn our direction around from the way we were going. Act 10:44-48, These God-fearing Gentiles are saved, filled with the Holy Spirit and baptized. There salvation, apparently, each one of these Gentiles responded to the message of Peter with believing faith in their hearts, so that they were actually saved while they listened. The moment of a person's salvation isn't necessarily when they raise a hand or come forward at an evangelistic invitation, it is more likely at the moment they surrender to God and embrace Jesus in the sincerity of their heart. Gentiles had probably been saved in the eight years since Pentecost, but they were saved as they embraced Judaism as well as Christianity, Gentile may have been saved but they were saved as Jews, not Gentiles. In closing, the Gentiles received the Holy Spirit as they did in Acts 10 PRIOR to their water baptism! After their baptism they received the GIFT of the Holy Spirit. What's the difference? God blessings Mommapbs |

295 | Holy Spirit evidence of Salvation? | Acts 2:38 | inmyheart | 51295
Mommapbs, Blessings you my friend, I pray that all is well with you and your family. I happened to log on to check a certain post and I came across yours. I'm however on my way out to a meeting and I don't have the time to respond to you, but I will when I get back, OK! However let me say that you present a very good question or maybe even a good statement, and it is well worth the time to see what God's Word say's (not opinions) about the Holy Spirit. Looking forward to reponding to your question. I encourage you to keep on with your work in the Lord. God Bless |

Hello, Don't beat yourself up! Why do you want to keep on carrying that old luggage around? You probably got your heart broken, right? Let God heal you and get on with your life! You may very well have a person that God wants to bless your life with. On the other hand, you may not be ready for a relationship...meaning if you have to ask, your not ready! You don't say if you want to get married? if so, then get some guidance in that area, if not...you know what Paul says in 1Corinthians 7:7 :) God bless you, you'll be alright, Jesus is the author and finisher of your faith, Hebrews 12:2 |

298 | When will my husband find me? | Ps 37:4 | inmyheart | 50549
Hello, Quit hidding! :) but seriously, don't you think God is able to add to your life? Have you read, the first shall be last and the last shall be first (Mat.20:16), or whosoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it (Mat.10:39). In short, don't be so anxious for your life, if you add to your life first on you own behalf, you may very well come up last. And if you lose your life for His sake you may very well find what He wants in your life :) God bless you my friend |

299 | What do i say to someone about drinking | Galatians | inmyheart | 50541
Hello Annointed, It doesn't matter who you might be ministering to, friends or strangers, 1Corinthians 1:18 says, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." Your friend is twisting the Word of God for her favor, not knowing the truth that lays within. 1John 4:4-5 says, "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them." in other words my friend, your friend, no matter how close she may be towards you, is spiritually dead. What do you tell her about drinking? NOTHING! Drinking is not her problem, the problem lays within, she is a sinner. She needs to know that God loves her and wants to guide her in life, the true way, the only way, through Christ. Her purpose in this life was not to drink, but to fullfill the calling that God has on her life. One last comment, yes Jesus turned the water into wine, but notice what Jesus said to the Samaritian woman in John 4:7-9. And in verse 10 Jesus answered her, "if you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you LIVING WATER." You see, no wine spoken of here! You will never prove to her that she shouldn't drink, she needs to taste for herself, how good God is. May Our Lord continue to bless you in your reaching out. "A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." Proverbs 11:25 |

300 | Why Didn't Paul and Jesus Baptize? | 1 Cor 1:17 | inmyheart | 50414
Hello Tim, This commentary is from Blue Letter Bible, which articualtes much better than I can explain; 1Corinthians 1:14-17, Paul is grateful he did not happen to baptize more in Corinth and thereby add more fuel to the partisan debate a. For Paul, preaching was more importnt than baptizing, though not opposed to it. b. "While therefore it is unscriptual to make baptism essential to salvation or a certain means of regeneration, it is nevertheless a dangerous act of disobedience to undervalue or neglect it." (Hodge) c. How did Paul preach? Not with the wisdon of words ("cleverness of speaking) d. Paul came speaking plainly, without any attempt to dazzle with eloquence or intellect; this may have been a change of his previous approach in Atherns (Acts 17:16-34 i. It's had to say if Paul was disappointed with the results in Athens or not. ii. Remember also that Paul was in Athens a day or two; he stayed in Corinth for a year and a half. Jesus baptized in the Holy spirit. |
