2781 | The question stands | James 2:10 | srbaegon | 19226
That still begs the question I posed to Searcher (who was more than kind in changing his user name, even though he didn't have to): If Christ fulfilled the Law, why do we teach one another to keep the "Moral Law"? Steve |

2782 | Why keep the Moral Law? | James 2:10 | srbaegon | 19217
I agree with your answer. Therefore, if Christ has fulfilled the Law (Matt 5:17), why do we insist on taking one aspect (moral), remove it from the rest, artificially systematize it using the 10 commandments (the whole Law is moral, not just the 10), and teach that it must continue to be kept? 2784 | Moral, Ceremonial, and Civil law | James 2:10 | srbaegon | 19182
Thank you for responding. I asked a poor question. It should have been: Where is the _Biblical_ definition of what constitutes the Moral, Ceremonial, and Civil Law? Where in Scripture can I go to see that the Law was viewed by prophet or apostle as divided into multiple types or sections. Steve |

You still have not proved YHWH is unpronounceable. All you have proven is that the pronunciation appears to be unknown currently. I already knew that. Did I misunderstand you? Did you mean to say that YHWH is currently unpronounceable, or that it has always been unpronounceable? Steve |

2787 | Definition of Moral, Ceremonial, Civil | James 2:10 | srbaegon | 18933
Where is the definition of what constitutes the Moral, Ceremonial, and Civil Law? From my study of the Scriptures, they are kept or failed together. Steve |

Do a search on 1 Sam 28:7 to find a previous discussion on this. Hope it helps. Steve |

2789 | Lionstrong, this is not universalism. | Eph 3:6 | srbaegon | 18930
I had not heard of your interpretation of Rom 5:10. I'm not sure I agree, but it's something to think about. And it would certainly clear the debate. Your other points I agree with. :-) Steve |

2790 | day of worship ?????/ saturday sabbath | Matt 5:17 | srbaegon | 18929
God never changes. True. The Law will not pass until all is fulfilled. Also true. What I am saying (as are others) is that Christ fulfilled the Law. And why is this such an issue? Paul constantly constantly told Gentiles they were not under obligation to the Law. Why should they start keeping it after salvation? This is the crux of Galatians. Steve |

OK, you are not a pantheist, but now you sound like a modalist (one who believes there is one God who works in three modes--Father, Son, Spirit). Jesus did not say He was the Father. Jesus said He was God. There is a difference which the Lord Jesus made time and again, even in the verse you quoted (John 14:9). And why do you say God's name is unpronounceable? Ignorance does not equal inability. Because one does not know how, does not mean one cannot do it. Steve |

2792 | Only seal and horse in same verse Rev6:5 | Bible general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 18913
The "governmental perfection" in the number 12 comes from two sources: 1) Israel as God's earthly people is based on 12 tribes; and 2) The church as God's heavenly people is based on 12 apostles whose names are written on the 12 foundation stones of New Jerusalem (Rev 21:14). Before you ask, "Is Judas Iscariot one that is written, and if not, who is instead?" Let me tell you Scripture does not say. I think Judas was replaced by Paul, but I could be wrong. He might have been replaced by Matthias. Steve |

2793 | When did the day of worship change? | Acts | srbaegon | 18896
No, you have not been rude or vague. Just incorrect. As has been stated before, there ARE verses that tell us the Sabbaths are no longer required to be kept. Steve |

2794 | matthew 5 :3 | Matt 3:5 | srbaegon | 18823
I think Luke 18:13 gives a good answer: "But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner!'" The tax colloector realized there was nothing good in himself and acknowledged it before God. There was no pretext of a righteousness derived from the Law as the Pharisees had. He sought God's righteousness (see Phil 3:9). Steve |

2795 | Any changes? | 1 Corinthians | srbaegon | 18819
If I may be allowed to enter the conversation... The responses would be pretty much the same, and I would add: Praise God for a desire to do the right thing until the wedding. Wonderful! Steve |

2796 | Rebaptism Okay? | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 18818
Scripture does not say anything about rebaptism. My only question would be: Why does she want to? Steve |

2797 | When did the day of worship change? | Acts | srbaegon | 18815
So you are saying the early church was wrong in what they did. I find it odd, then, that God would correct Ananias and Sapphira so stringently, and yet let this matter go unchecked even from the day of Pentecost. Steve |

I think I understand the disagreement between us. I say that "to make them fly" refers to God's desire to loose the bound souls that they might flee. You say the same phrase refers to the those who are doing the capturing. Would you give me a book title or website or something else to corroborate your interpretation? Steve |
