Dear Hoppy I am sure John will get to you in due time... In the mean time, the passage says up in verse 18 that the discourse was about the church at Thyatira... The message about Jezebel was to the entire church at Thyatira and was about a woman named Jezebel in the church who was calling herself a prophetess in that church. She was teaching a false gospel and leading the church members astray and leading them to commit sexual sins and to eat foods sacrificed to idols. These were both part of pagan idol worship practices, to have open sexual encouters of fornication or adultery and to eat food sacrificed to the pagan idol. You need to take the Bible and interpret it literally, it means exactly what it says, there are sometimes symbols or allegories, like when Jesus says I am the door, but this is not one of them. There was a real woman with a real name who was doig real things and the church, the whole church was to take real action, period. There is nothing that you need to reinterpret or re-apply here, it was a message to that particular church about a particulare situation in that church. God's Day to you, Tamara |

continuation, Tamara After they establish that belivers by the blood have access to all covenants from the OT they seek to establish that all believers because they are priests can have the promise granted to Phinehas. I Peter 2:5 You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. While it is true that we are all priests in the priesthood of Christ, and while it is true that we have access to the covenantal promises of faith, and while it is true that believers are granted peace between themselves and God, these Word of Faith preachers take it all a step beyond this. They tie in having access to the convenant of faith by the blood, being in the priesthood and being granted peace between us and God with the concept that believers are to take the covenant granted to Phinehas and speak it out loud in order to release the power of God to speak peace to your ruined health, ruined life, ruined ministry, ruined finances telling you that God will speak peace to your situation if you speak out loud the promises of God and allow God to move on your behalf. The covenant of peace between God and Phinehas was specifically about the other covenant of a perpetual priesthood granted to Phinehas and his descendants and was not about a ruined life, or a ruined health, or ruined finances, or a ruined ministry, it was about God granting peace instead of desctruction and about granting one man and his family a perpetual priesthood and does not apply to other situations or people at all. It is true that God can and will fix ruined things, but not by appropriating the covenant of peace and a priesthood granted only to Phineahas... The next things these Word of Faith preachers say after finishing their excited and flambouyant presentation of this wild illustration is, "God opens doors that no man can close, by His Holy will and sovereign power, He will release the convenants and promises of God into your life by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ by the level of your faith!" This twisting scriptures to fit their twisted theology that your lips as a priest will open up and appropriate any old promise or covenant of God and that by the power of your faith God will act on your behalf and fix any old thing because you are under the blood and God loves His children and has given them many many promises and covenants that apply to them and belong to God. Benny Hinn, T.D. Jakes, Paula White, Joyce Meyers, Peter Popoff, and on and on they are all getting rich and powerfull because people love to hear false teaching that tells them how to get things and fix things and how to have a better life with much less suffering. And it is all false doctrine every bit of it, from the fake healings to the healings by the power of the devil, to the healing oil of the devil, to the green prayer clothes of the evil one, to the fake manna to heal you by the power of the devil, the fake no evil oil, the instantaneous dental work by the power of the devil, the prophecies by the power of Satan about peoples personal doctor's name and diagnoses of illnes without prior knowledge, it is all the work of the devil - here is why, they are doing all these so called Charismatic gifts while preaching a myriad of false doctrines to support what they are doing, and if they are preaching false doctrine and then performing many miracles that are real, then their power is from the devil himself, by their fruits you shall know them, but first check the doctrine, if it is false then so are the miracles a product, although they may be real of the devil and not God. I want you to really start listening to what they are preaching, all these people that you so admire in minstry and start to ask questions in here about what you are hearing and seeing and start getting some real sound doctrine so you can see what is the truth. You are being deceived my dear and it shows, I say this in love for the sake of your soul to pull you back from the brink of spiritual destruction. Learn the truth and keep it. Test every word you hear against the Bible, if you can't find it, I bet you are a fine Bible student, it probably is not there at all, but is a false teaching. God's day to you, Tamara |

Dear chessshores, This is another Word of Faith teaching that has absolutely no basis in scripture at all. Joyce Meyers and Benny Hinn and other Word of Faith teachers like T.D. Jakes and Paula White use this phrase all the time, but you won't be able to find it in the scripture because it is not there. This is another example of the Word of Faith teachers and preachers taking scripture and twisting it to mean what they say it means taking it out of context away from the author's original intent. Here is an example of how Joyce Meyers and Paula White, for example twist the scriptures to say what they want them to say. They start out with one verse and then misapply it to a next verse making a connection that does not exist. Here is an example; Ephesians 2:12,13 remember that your were at that time separate from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. This is the first thing they try to establish; that we were once strangers to the covenants of promise, but now by the blood of Jesus we have access to the covenants. This is where they start off, with the truth, but then they veer off from where they start and take another scripture that is about covenantal promises made to specific situations and specific groups of people and mis-apply them for today by reinterpreting them to fit their twisted theology. Here is what I mean; Numbers 25:12 Therefore say, 'Behold, I give My covenant of peace; and it shall be for him and his descendants after him a covenant of a perpetual priesthood, because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the sons of Israel.' The second thing these Word of Faith preachers try to establish is that once a person has been granted access to the covenants of promise that they can access all of the OT convenants. covenants that are not about the covenant of Abraham about faith, but all the other covenants given to Moses, to Noah and the smaller covenants given to individuals, as the covenants given to Israel and persons in Israel. This is a specific covenant promised to a specific person, Phinehas the son of Eleazar, made by God, and it does not apply to all peoples at all times that they shall receive this specfic peace offered to one priest who made atonement for the sins of Israel. more to come, Tamara |

Dear Tim, I am intrigued... Pray tell, which recources.. Like an idiot I glanced at the concordance and did not look closely enough to see that there was more than the most prominent number for wine... If you were using another resource, pray do tell what it was, I love to collect and use new Bible tools in my endeavor to be learning more. I haven't had the time until today but I am definitely going to go to your stats and spend the time to learn a few new things... God Bless, Tamara |

Oh Yeah geez louise... My Pastor is another one... My Pastor made me go take Greek, said, you are ready go do it... My school has a couple prerequisites, had to take Greek Foundations 1,2, before taking NT Greek, haven't taken the NT yet... That stuff is no joke, believe me the demons come out when you go to learn this stuff, they do not want anyone to learn the truth! I am terrible at it though, it is very, very difficult to learn to read a language in different letters... I am in awe of folks that have deicated their lives to learning the original languages, it makes a great big difference when it comes to expository preaching and teaching, sure does... I told my Pastor about this site in the hopes he might find the time while on vacation this summer to teach on line, there is another gem set in pure gold, God blessed our church while we were searching for a pastor. I was glad and surprised when Pastor Moran put his title in his stats and his email too... I Timothy 3:16,17 God Bless the hat lady... |

I heartily agree Lionheart! Do you have the scriptureanalyzer4all? It has the original language word order for Greek and English with lexical components... You probably know of the esword and www.esword.net and have that. But do you have the legitimate modules for it that are not on their home page site? If you want, email me at whatdoyoubelieve@hotmail.com and I will send you three links... Oh wanna laugh? I rushed out the house this morning after leaving you a note saying I was late for first Sunday... Stupid git, went flying down the street in a white hat and suit for communion and was the only one wearing white in church!... OH MY Gosh, I was wilting all through service pondering seriously about externals............. Then it was time to usher and I felt stupid in white because the other usher was wearing black and had to remind myself I was serving the Lord, not there for a fashion show. Laugh out Loud.................... God Bless, the hat lady |

Whatever you want to do about curtailing a discussion is fine, I won't bother to answer you then about it then... You ain't too interested in a rebuttal I can tell. I appreciate your insight, how's that? I do have to disagree with you though, I think it is important to have free discourse about Biblical concepts, doctrines and so on based on the scriptures and our intrepretation of them. But I respect your right to cut short any further discourse just the same.. Maybe next time if you don't want think it is profitable to discuss something further you could refrain form asking questions while at the same time saying let's let it go (we understand what a rhetorical question is..., but asking one and then saying let's not get into it may have an unintended barb in it somewhere). God bless, Tamara |

I think the feather ruffling is all me actually, maybe if I had left out the word ain't it wouldn't have seemed sarcastic, which was not the intent. The intent was resignation to your request and I think I was being sassy because I love to study a subject and just get to chewin on it. Seems like you guys have chewed up sooooo much stuff in here that its all good to you to stop jawing about a thing, I understand. I have not been around long enough in here or out there to have discussed any subject add nauseum to be ready to drop and go, every darn thing is sooooooo interesting to me.... That is what happens to new jacks. I will try to take note though of when Sola Scriputa cannot be applied to straighten something out... Soorrrrrrryyyyyyyyy Back, God bless, the hat lady |

Say thanks Pastor Moran! So, Question, does the word wine that Paul uses in I Corinthians 11 refer to fermented or unfermented wine and do you believe based on the context of that part of his letter that the Corinthians were dying early because of getting drunk at the supper, or was that becuase they did not examine themselves? Dear Lionheart, I have been reading Colossians now for a few days and am wondering if you took my reply the first time to read when I said OK to mean I was offended, or being short with you. That was not the intent, I was trying to let it go Lionheart, not be short tempered. 1)keep seeking that which is above. still doing this. 2)put aside all anger, malice, wrath, abusive speech, slander. was never angry just disapointed and dismayed and did not use abusive speech nor slander anyone. 3)put on compassion, kindess, humility, gentleness, patience, bearing with one another, forgive one another. I did stumble a bit there, but examined myself and tried to the best of my ability to come around to the right veiw of things with all of your help. Why am I seen as not having come around yet? Open to further instruction from you on this... 4)whatever you do, do your work heartily giving thanks to God, fearing the Lord. this is why I am here and continue to participate. Is there somethig you see that I am doing that I need to be corrected about? I am open, feel free to be specific please... I sent something to John as he felt it necessary to enlighten me for the second or third time about what he calls speculation. I replied that all areas of Bible study are ultimatel about Christ and the final message of the Bible. I am interested in all the various facets of how that message progressed, the players and the stage, the authors intent, their audiences, how they differently treat the same subject, as well as every thing that the Bible has to say about all of its aspects and information. There is no part of what the Bible says about anything that is not profitable to study. You said yourself that II Timothy 2:15 was a very important point. It takes every aspect of exegesis to do that, the critical forms; redaction, literary, textual, grammatical and others are all part of the process. Not everything is self explanatory without using the different parts to arrive at a clear picture of seemingly differing accounts, use of words, or scriptures. If we have moved beyond the elementary things then the central message qualifies as an elementay thing as is laying on of hands and some very complicated areas of theological study that Hebrews mentions in that scripture. Some of the things mentioned there are being milk are pretty deep. I think according to the qualifications, we are all somewhere in between milk and meat. We see washings laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, repentance of dead works, eternal judgments. Two of those things are not simple doctrines or teachings. After receiving some messages that something should be dropped, to one of which I replied, I can see that you are not interested in a rebuttal, which is a straight forward observation and not an attack, or an insult or slander, others have chosen to discuss the original matter some more and do not agree with that view, that it should be dropped. I think as I tried to point out to John that there is room for diversity in the body of Christ and that people view things from their own theological lens. I don't think subject matter itself, as long as it is about something in the Bible, is necessarily frivolous material. And I don't think that we should all just be requried to view an aspect of studying a subject according the the rules of exegesis as speculation. There are others here who would agree on this. I am more than willing to stop exploring a matter with someone who does not see the point, that does not mean there is no point, just that there is not one to them. I think it is fair to say that my shorter replies left you all wondering if I was harboring ill will, I was only trying to drop it, not insult. Forgive me won't you? God Bless, the hat lady |
