241 | Should people be warned? | NT general | justme | 238356
This last week John Mac Arthur's "STRANGE FIRE" was on . There has been great debate about what he has said. He believes he is warning believers about how the fire in some churches is not God. Is he biblically right to say this?

243 | are there apostles and prophets today | NT general | justme | 238261
Doc: Suffering is what Jesus endured for us, but I feel sure we have no idea what Jesus took upon Himself for us. I believe the physical pain he endured. The unbelievable pain of carring the weight of our sins, we can't grasp at all. We can't imagine what the pain of sins of the whole WORLD, what would that felt like, or to die with? Even the fact that it was impossible for God to turn away from His son, Jesus's pain surely felt like it. How can we more fully grasp what the pain and cost of our sins really took for Christ to prove how much Jesus Christ loves us. Each of us are the "one lost sheep" Jesus has gone after. One at a time Jesus has sought and went looking for each of us, one at a time. So awesome and most likely we can not even grasp His love. I can'treally grasp what real LOVE is. Do we really suffer? I think not, ONLY JESUS KNOWS WHAT IT IS TO REALLY SUFFER. Blessings. |

245 | are there apostles and prophets today | NT general | justme | 238235
Doc: We are in total agreement. Respect for Elders and yes, professors, which I considered a honnor to be under their teaching. A true Elder person in the Lord Jesus Christ is getting to be seldom found in todays culture. Getting to know youuand seeing how yo communicate and instruct the way of the LORD is a special blessing as well. Our dear brother Hank was indeed an Elder. Blessings to you Doc. |

246 | what does the bible say about by racial | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 238228
We know Moses had a racially mixed marraige. Today racially mixed marriages are more acceptable than in decades past. There will forever be people who have recail hatered. Even in christians there are people with bias. Jesus gave us the command to love no matter what the race, male or female, or anything that divides us. A admireable radio, TV speaker ends his talk with "Now go serve your King." I love that. |

247 | are there apostles and prophets today | NT general | justme | 238227
Apsottles had to be a person witness to Jesus Christ and His ministry. Paul was personally anointed by those who had direct contact with Jesus and Paul spent three years being taught by the Holy Spirit. A Prophet that for saw the furture and preditcte Scripture was ended with Paul. Today there are so-called prophets and apostles, most generally those who accept experiences over Scripture. Revelation 22:19 is very clear about adding and taking away from the Word of God. Sadly too often man wants to elevate himself to high positions that were only for those who served at a specific place, and time in God's history. I see to many want the title of Rev. or Dr. I personally an content by Jesus calling me His child, or friend. I believe calling my Pastor "Pastor" No one is really reverend. Seeking a title brings a huge responsibility, and I surely do not deserve anything more than "servant". |

248 | Is NASB study bible dispensational? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 238203
tgwin: Every Study Bible I have read has some slant, depending on the group of study note writters who wrote the notes. The NIV study BIble in Genesis 1 stuck in some notes that sure allow for Theolistic Eveloution. one example of bias. All Study Bible have a bias. I have my main Bibles that I use is just pure Scripture and verse reference's. I use word search materials to learn for myself, verse by verse. The study Bibles I do use are conserative, but I look for study Bibles that mainly have to do with historical back ground material. The only exception is the Life Application Study Bible. If you have a leaning to a specfic theological point of understanding then ask your Bible book store for that. Also CBD is a great help on this. Perhaps a study of the Millennium would help you come to your own understanding. One vert excllent book is THE MEANING OF THE MILLENNIUM FOUR VIEWS EDITED BY ROBERT G. CLOUSE. Inter Varsity Press. Make up your own mind not what you have been taught. Darby who really started Dispensational Theology, was just a man who has some questions of his own in his life. the Bible is able to be understood by the common christian, we do not have to take everything that someone has said hookline and sinker. Is the End of Times the most important thing for Christians? Or is it to be a Follower and a witness to share Christ with others? Any church that wants a huge full church, spends lots of time on end of times book of Reveloution. I personally have come to my own conclusion that Jesus Christ and FOLLOWING HIM and obeying is by far more worth my study. |

249 | once sasved always saved? | Luke 23:43 | justme | 238202
Michale123: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. Often what is ment by this statement is how little can I do and still be assured I will make it to heaven, or how much sin can I keep doing and still be saved. Both statements are very dangerious. Believers who are seeking to OBEY and FOLLOW don'y even ask such a question. When we FOLLOW Jesus we have ASSURANCE. Christ Jesus gives us peace and love that fills the void that makes us wonder is once we are saved are we always saved. It is ture this has been debated over the hundred of years, but the HONEST truth is it's a nul and void question that a genuine born again FOLLOWER of Jesus does not even have to think about. 1 Jonn 1 the complete chapter deals with the problem of when we sin. Psalm 37 is where david was dealing with his sin. If David committed adultery, killed the womans husband, and hid his sin, lied, and confessed his sin, and God forgave him, do you think God can't forgive us as well? John 10 Jesus says a genuine FOLLOWER can not be taken away from His keeping us safe in His hand. The Holy Spirit lives in us as a proof positive we are HIS forever. Now either The HOLY WORD of GOD is true and we can TREUST the LORDs ability to keep HIS WORD and KEEP UD or the BIBLE is not true. I assure you it;s true. Yes we are sinners, big sinners, but GOD is so much bigger and JESUS Christ shed blood has saved us ! Now lets re state the statement. Genuine FOLLOWERS of Jesus Christ are saved forever, by GODs ability and love. The ability for us to save our self is impossible, ONLY GOD SAVES US AND KEEPS US ETERNALLY. Only Jesu saves us, we show our faith by FOLLOWING and OBEYING by the faith He gives us. |

250 | Wife supports sinfull son | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 238201
hsamot: I am fairly sure this situation is just the tip of the iceburg. There is clearly a division between you and your wife, and most likely the issue with this son is not the only problem between the two of you. My first question is are you both followers of Jesus Christ? Are regular involved in a church together? Do you each have a time of reading Scripture and pray? Do you ever pray together? Were your children brought up in church? Is this son your son, or her son from another marraige? this may seem like a lot of private questions, but any pastor or Chrostian marraige counselor worth a sprinkle of salt would ask these same qwuestions. After being a pastor I have heard things like this before. I wonder how your budget is set up, iy sounds like what you make is yours and what is hers is hers. Other wise you two whouls be coming to a choice as if and how th help your wayward son. He is clearly not comitted to being failtful, and supporting his family. This is hard for you both to deal with this sonful son. I suggest you first seek God and ask Him to give you wisdom. Perhaps seeking advice from your pastor, or a Christian marriage Counselor. I would read the book of James. and ask your wife to do the same. Pray for your son, but no longer keep aid going to him unless you both agree, until your pastor or counselor gives you a clear direction you both agree God has directed you both to do. You son needs to find Jesus Christ and follow Him. Go with God. |

251 | IS SAME SEX MARRIAGE ALLOWED? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 238147
Marriage is defined by The Holy Father as between a Man and a Woman. The only thing you have when two people of the same sex join themselves together sexually is homosexua;ity. That is completely against what God intends, thus a sin. Sex outside of marriage is always a sin. |

252 | New culture, and a new welcome? | Not Specified | justme | 237909
Today men and women have tattoo's of all kinds, in highly visible places, and some with sexual overtones, and some naked pictures. The words are sometime's raw in meaning. A number of folks are not christians, and are coming to find about God. No one would turn away those seeking Jesus, or those who just came on just wnating to see what a church is all about. What should we say or do, beyond saying welcome to the House of God? |

Resurrection Sunday is celebrated all over the world. The GOOD NEWS that Jesus Christ rose from the dead is celebrated around the world. This Holy Day gives us a great opportunity to renew our commitment to share Jesus Christ with others who don't know Him. More than ever before those who don't Jesus Christ, are openly standing against Christianity. Pray for those who stand against Jesus Christ. Pray for other Christians that we, or they, might have the power of the HOLY SPIRIT to witness, and take advantage of opportunity when we can. May God Belss each ogyou. justme. PLEASE LEAVE THIS UP ALL DAY SUNDAY. |

257 | Can you continue to sin an go to heaven? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 236537
Hellow again brtother. I guess by your post you are a non-denominational church member. Recently in a different christian forum this subject went on for a very long time. It turned out there were some very strong false statements made about denominations. Granted there are some denominations you could hardly call religious say nothing about christian. But there are some non-denominations that are equally as bad. Unity is one such church group that comes to mind. So it would be nice not to toss darts at denominations, I happen to belong to a Southern Baptist Church which supports the Southern Baptist Denomination. I have also belonged to the Conserative Baptist as well.By the same token there are some solid Independant, non denomination churches as well one being Calvary Chapel which we went to for several years. The more important issue being how are we sharing Christ and are we descipling those who have made a choice to follow Jesus. Blessings. justme |
