Bible Question: Does the NASB Study Bible promote dispensational theology? |
Bible Answer: tgwin: Every Study Bible I have read has some slant, depending on the group of study note writters who wrote the notes. The NIV study BIble in Genesis 1 stuck in some notes that sure allow for Theolistic Eveloution. one example of bias. All Study Bible have a bias. I have my main Bibles that I use is just pure Scripture and verse reference's. I use word search materials to learn for myself, verse by verse. The study Bibles I do use are conserative, but I look for study Bibles that mainly have to do with historical back ground material. The only exception is the Life Application Study Bible. If you have a leaning to a specfic theological point of understanding then ask your Bible book store for that. Also CBD is a great help on this. Perhaps a study of the Millennium would help you come to your own understanding. One vert excllent book is THE MEANING OF THE MILLENNIUM FOUR VIEWS EDITED BY ROBERT G. CLOUSE. Inter Varsity Press. Make up your own mind not what you have been taught. Darby who really started Dispensational Theology, was just a man who has some questions of his own in his life. the Bible is able to be understood by the common christian, we do not have to take everything that someone has said hookline and sinker. Is the End of Times the most important thing for Christians? Or is it to be a Follower and a witness to share Christ with others? Any church that wants a huge full church, spends lots of time on end of times book of Reveloution. I personally have come to my own conclusion that Jesus Christ and FOLLOWING HIM and obeying is by far more worth my study. |
