201 | Have you investigated Gnostic Christiani | Bible general | justme | 240041
Doc. I have never read anyone saying he was a Gnostic. However when I was in seminary we were studying outher reliegions. We went to Unity Village in Missouri. There the speaker tolde us he was a Gnostic. I asked him if he could please explain what a Gnostic was. He was a totally Gnostic. So This is a second time for me. By the way great answer. I an so greatful for Study Bible Forum, asnd the fact there are solid moderators who are there to keep the answers Biblical. I belong to another so called christian forum. There everyone says anything and it may or may not even be in the Bible, there are a lot of opinions, but little real Scriptural true answers. Thanks to Lockman for the NASB, this forum, and thank you Doc. justme |

202 | # of votes to take a letter for a member | Bible general | justme | 239966
GeeBee48: Each Denomination, Church has its own by laws that state how one becomes a member. Even the Apostle's had to draw a straw to see who would replace Judas. Some churches have no membership at all. Calvary Chaple has no membership as such.
203 | Genesis angels creating giants? | Gen 6:2 | justme | 239776
nasus: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. Angels are not male or female, and do not reproduce, therefore they could not have had sexual relations with humans. This is a falsehood repeated over and over the many years. The very best way to leran these things for yoyrself is to begin reading the Bible everyday for yourself. Begin with the New Testament in reading just 3 chapters a day you will read the entire Bible in one year. Blessings justme |

205 | Holman Study Bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 239559
Thanks for your opinion. I have looked at a rather cheap one for 49 dollars, is not really cheap but it looked cheap to me. It's the notes that I have heard that are very good, is that true? My wife thinks we would like the Charles Stanley stydy Bible better. We have about 10 different study Bibles. And we just look for goodies we did not alrady know. Blessings
206 | Holman Study Bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 239488

I am blessed beyond what I deserve. if you would send me your email, and erase this post I would feel more comfortable in sharing what's going on. my email is cedar66@hughes.net Your concern is a blessing, thanks. justme |

207 | Holman Study Bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 239481
Doc" Harper Collins not only bought out Zondervan, but Nelson as well. They may also have bought out others as well. With more Bibles being printed in china and other third world places a good Bible made in the US are mainly genuine leather better bound Bibles. They last longer and that's the ones I get. I am constantly getting information about trials that ask me which covers and pictures I like best. So they are spending time in research. Next time I go near Kansas City I might look at LifeWay and check it out. I have not been in KC in about 6 years, so that won't be soon. I usually go to Lemstone Christian Books in Columbia MO. I go to the VA in Columbia Mo about 100 times a year. Maybe this year will be less as they have put me on some new meds that don't need so much checking up on. justme |

208 | Holman Study Bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 239474
Thanks Doc: They sure have a long list of who's who in the list of people who put it together. I don't buy anything but leather so it was going to be a good investment. I think I will rethink it over. Maybe go ans spend sometime reading some places I generally look to see how they got the wording. I had heard that the Holman was made to stop paying for rights to use other versions. Do you think they saved any money? blessings Doc. |

209 | Holman Study Bible? | Not Specified | justme | 239465
Hi dear Christian friends: I have a perhaps strange question. I am seriously thinking of buying a HOLMAN Study Bible. I am a Southern Baptist. I like the notes that I have seen on line, and it uses the name of God Yahweh. But I have not known anyone who has one and how they like it. I am very solidly a student of my NASB, so the Holman would be in addition to my other Bibles. SO... if you own one tell me what you think about it, please. Thanks, as always. justme |

212 | Mark 10:24 ending change, why? | Mark 10:24 | justme | 239279
Beja: Thank you much. But I wonder how far back those words were included. If added by a scribble that's understandable. But removed by Textual Criticism alone makes no reason for me. I want to go deeper as to when and why. Any suggestions? Thnaks for your help. justmei |

213 | Mark 10:24 ending change, why? | Not Specified | justme | 239276
In Mark 10:24 the NKJ reads at the end of the verse "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the Kingdom of God." After checking a number of more recent translations the later part listed above is no longer there. None of the translations I have had a side note or any explanation for the removal. Was this added by a scribe before the 1611 KJV? I am now looking for other older translations for some hint. Does anyone know FOR SURE why this verse was changed? Please give your source of information. Thanks justme |

215 | what is the church's responsibilities t | Heb 10:25 | justme | 239261
Doc: it's high time for us to go back to the Bible and start from there. Maybe even consider new churches, or find old boarded up churches and start from there. Too many pastors like being king pen and churches like being lazy? I am puzzled at this point. justme |

216 | what is the church's responsibilities t | Heb 10:25 | justme | 239234
Doc: How many times have we heard the "church" meaning those in some kind of paid position, didn't do this or that? I also came to the conclusion by experience, there is no such thing as a part time pastor (bi-vocational). When I see church members who do not get involved, visit, or even make a phone call to see why you were not there last Sunday, I wonder is anyone really Following Christ? One Pastor can't do it all or even come close. |

217 | what is the church's responsibilities t | Heb 10:25 | justme | 239226
Better question is why don't members remember they are the CHURCH? They seem to think the Pastor is the church and he does most of the work. Something is sure backwards here. The Bible says Born Again followers are the CHURCH
218 | Is there water in space? Genesis 1:6 | Genesis | justme | 239225
Genesis chapter 1 gives us much more information about the Holy Spirit hovering over the wathers. Perhaps there is water else where. The US is spending huge amounts of money in space exploration, while so many people have no food for the next day. justme |

219 | Can a woman be a pastor of a church? | NT general | justme | 239141
kburt: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. Many liberal denominations have woman pastors. Biblically my belief is no. Often women are forced into positions because men are not there or men won't face up to the responsibility God gives then. My advice is go very prayerfully on this, or anything else in choosing the right man for a pastor. justme |
