michael03: I preached at a rescue mission while in college. Often there were men who would have taken some Scripture if there was one there to give. Perhaps a rescue mission could use this Scripture. Also put in "free Bibles" in the seqarch engine and there is a place that is glad to take used Biles and make great use out of them. Hope this helps. I have kept most all of my Bibles over the years, as I ahve made notes, and made comments in lost of paddages. Perhaps my children someday will read some of my remarks and see why I believe as I do. 243 | ALL things? | 2 Tim 3:16 | justme | 194111
Miller521: In Romans 8:28 and 29, there is a serious misunderstanding of these verses. Many have sais everything turns out for good. But when real suffering is the result, that's when we ask how can you do this to me Lord? In vers4e 29 we suffer to become more like Jesus. Suffering is never something most of us like, but it is one way to get our attention. Without understanding how verse 28 is connected to verse 29, we question if vers 28 is true. I personally have endured much physical suffering. The suffering I have had has been very unplesant, and at one point about 22 years ago I questioned God about verse 28. I saw no good, and it was not just me suffering, but also our 4 children, and my wife as well. Then one time while I was inprayer Jesus showed me the meaning of suffering in verse 29. I hate to suffer, but I now know the purpose for suffering. The point being God can take the worst situation and still be able to show his love, mercy and grace, and bring us His peace. Not that God has planned bad things, but He has given us free will to sin or obey. Sometime our sin causes suffering. Sometimes others have caused us to suffer. However, the last four verses of Romans 8 proves we are never alone, and NOTHING can keep the Love of Christ away from us! God NEVER draws us to sin, we by our own sinful nature causes us to have many of the proble,s you have listed. See James the first chapter. Blessings. justme |

secondchile: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! Great question! Anyone who is genuinely born again cam serve and take the Lord's supper. Families, ladies prayer groups, husband and wife, even by your self! The bigger question is who can not serve communion? Anyone who is not a genuine Christian. Blessings. justme |

246 | Christians living together outside of ma | 1 Corinthians | justme | 193938
Welcome to the Bible Study Bible Forum PutGodFirst! 1 Corinthians 6:14 to 20, and in Hebrews 13:4 there is a very direct warning about keeping our selves pure for the marriage bed. There are are many things to consider before YOU decide about attending this wedding, it's not a simple answer. I can say as a parent, this is an agonizing decision to make when your adult children have become sexually involved before the marriage. This heart ace has been experienced by so many Christian parents and their Christian adult children. The sin of immorality is accepted as mormal in our world today, the Church is often aware but remains silent as to not offend it's member or family. Have you ever spoke to this man or woman with Scripture to tell them what they were doing was wrong? Often people judge the sinner but never cronfront the person with the Biblical proof that what the person is doing is sin. I wish I could say that the answer to attend the wedding is a simple answer, for me it is not. A Clergy person is at times cronfronted with a couple who are Christians who have been immoral and find there is a baby on the way. Some Clergy will not marry the couple. But, is it better to take the time and give Biblical counseling about marriage, and get the couple off on a repented start together? I think the last option is better. That is not to say the sin is white washed away. Recently I read that about 50 percent of Christian brides are with child on their wedding day! I used to think it might have been the churches fault in not teaching Biblical morals. Now I am more convienced that it has more to do with what the Kids ore taught in school, the TV they watch, music they listen to all say recreational sex is good and fun, and it's ok. One has only to go into Christian homes and look at channels the Cable TV or Direct TV has to understand that Christians are being seduced by inviting such entertainment in their homes. There is not one person that can justify having HBO, Showtime, or these movie channels. They use the name of God in vain, use rotten gutter language, and ever immoral sexual idea is presented as good! I would be willing to bet the majority of Christians have these type of filth in their homes. We live in a world that is sin sick, and we have forgotten what the Lord expects of us, to flea sexual sin. I am sure that you ask the Lord to direct you path you will come to the answer. Perhaps this couple now see they were wrong. However if they flaunted their immorality and are getting married out of it's the right thing to do now that we have enough money, I would no6t attend, and I would sent a note saying why I would not be coming. Hope this helps a little. justme |

247 | Will a device be placed for tracking? | Revelation | justme | 193683
Lukewayne1: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! There is no place in Scripture that speaks even in the remotest way of tracking devices. However there are those who twist Scripture and add personal thoughts and imagination to say all kinds of unscriptual garbage to trick people into buying books. Left Behind is a fine example of Scripture mixed with fiction. The dangerious part is many readers think what said is factual, when the Left behind books are sold in the fiction department of book stores. Be careful not to be taken in by non scriptual make believe. justme |

Brother Parkerson: Welco,e back to the Study Bible Study Forum! The subject of the "Rapture" is one that has several Biblical possibilities. May I suggest a book by Hank Hanergraaff, THE APOCALYPSE CODE. This in my opinion is a book that any serious Biblical reader needs to read and carefully come to understand how some Christian understand the Second coming of Jesus Christ. Blessings justme |

dunedark: It seems like there are trust issues between the two of you. You violated her privacy and doing so you showed didrespect and no trust in her. Why would you do this when you are just a boy friend? If you think she is not worthy of your trust, then your relationship is not worth much. Have you ever come to trust Jesus? John 3:16 is the promise you can trust. I suggest you start with a solid relationship with Jesus Christ. What do you think? justme |

252 | A retrospection on Rev. Falwell | Deut 11:26 | justme | 190343
00123: I wish you had something in the Update User Infor on yourself, it helps to know how to direct our response better. Romans 14:22 cautions us to be wise in what we give our approval to or of. Both Robertson and Falwell have had huge ministries, and impacted politics and Christianity. They both have spoken for large groups of Christians. Being human, they both have made and said some serious mistakes. Both men have served the Lord and accomplished things that most Christians could never do in a lifetime. The truth is everything that happens in our world is in someway connected with sin, be it 911 or any other event that God is not glorified. Robertson and Falwell do not have to answer to the Lord for my life. Onthe same token no one will answer for these two men, with the Lord. I would say that am not in agreement with their mixing politics and their ministries as they did, they both brought light to some issues that might have been kept in the darkness, without their exposing the sin in these situations. Dr. James Dobson seens to have thr responsibility to take the helm, and show light into the darkness of evil at this present time. I seriously believe rather then finding fault with genuine born again Ministers in the public eye, we would be far better spend time praying for our Christian leaders on the front line. Blessings. justme |

253 | Is our pastor a dictator? | 1 Tim 2:15 | justme | 190217
worriedlamb: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! You seem to have some high anxiety about your pastor and his fitness for ministry. Not knowing the complete circunstances, I will give some things to consider. If yous church has had a comunication issue in the past, having one person be responsible to make sure information is directed to the right people is very importanst. People change positions from year to year, and at times it takes several months to notify the sender of the new persons address. Go perhaps all mail going to the Pastor is a good idea. If there are special meetings or seminars he would be able to know far enough time ahead to put them on the church calendar. One church I pastored at had more than 6 different bank accounts and even in different banks. There is no way for the treasurer to keep track of all these accounts and give the congreation an accounting. Sometines these little grougs begin to act as if these little accounts are not under the churches authority, and refuse to be accountable. In the a case where there is a church emergency, for insatnce, the plumbing needs repair right this day, and there is not enough in the general fund, the Elders could barrow from a fund and repay it as it can be done. I hope you see my point. Sometimes the these various funds can have a large amount of money, that gathers for years and comes to a rather large sum. I am reminded at one church I was pastor that I had no raise in 3 years, even though the churches finabces has nearly doubled. However the Missions giving had more than doubled. This can be a very hurtful to the wife of the pastor, and actual cause a pastor to move sooner than he wants, but needs of a family do enter into the picture. Secrect meetings are a tool of satan. There is not a Baptist pastor who has not heard of a pastor going on vacation, and to return to being voted out. This is not only dishonest and cowardly. God does not honnor these secrect meetings. Once burned in a fast dismissal like stated above, one could be protective to prevent being so hatefully discharged as pastor. Scripture has several places to consider before you go any further. Hear are sone verses to read and pray about. 1 Chronicles 16:22, and 1 Timothy 5:17 to 19. I believe the more we think about a problem with or about pastor, we need to spend more time praying for him, then worring about him the sooner we will see the will of the Lord. Remember your pastor is answering to God, and God will deal with him. In Matthew 18, there too is how to deal with anyone in the church which is in sin. Have you gone to your pastor and addressed your concerns? If you feel you can't go by your self, take one other person and speak with him. He just might be able to explain what's behind these requirements and open your mind, or even the opposite. Most hurtful is talking to many others about your concerns, so it becomes gossip. Gossip is evil, do not start it up. You will be sure that your pastor is the man God has called if you follow what I have suggested. I urge you to go slow and tenderly, with respect and love, as God does hold us responsible for not following our Call by God leaders. The best protection is a Pastor Relations Committee. The American Baptist Churches of the USA have all the papers for this committee. This is a safe place wher committee members can dialogue with the pastor over concerns, and the Pastor has a chance to put out fires and air his concerns as well. When this is in plave the length of stay for a pastor is extended by many months of harmony. I would be interested in hearing your reaction to my note to you. justme |

255 | Are miracle healing prayers answered | Matt 18:1 | justme | 190189
oneluke: Welcome to the Study Bible forum! I can say with the strongest authority yes! I have long thought miracle healing was not for today. However in June 2004, I had a large blood clot go from my right leg and brake up into a bunch of clots and go directly into both lungs. My primary Care Doctor and the head Radailogist with 32 years on the job, tole me and my wife there was nothing they could do. We were told to go home and put my affairs in order asap. I was told to not be left alone, and if I should have a clot move to my heart I would never make it, and this is what they exped to happen. My life was ending soon, and I was a dead man walking. I called my pastor and asked him to come to our home. As a pastor, I have anointed people with oil and prayed for them several times in my ministry. My wife and the pastor put the oil on my head, we prayed not to be healed, but that I would be in the center of the Lords will. James 5:13 to 16 is the Scripture I believe states it very clearly. The rest of the story is 39 days later the clots that filled both lungs were gone. I survived the clots, with no pain or bleeding, and everyone said they had never ever seen such a genuine "miracle" The head of the Xray department at the hospital gave us thye CAT Scans of when the clots were in my lungs and the one 30 days later and the reports. My wife and have presented this with christian frends and a group. Several Nurse's ahve seen the CAT Scans and have been amazed, and have never seen such a thing. I do not thing the healings on TV are genuine or even how God heals today. Mircales are unusual, and are able to be validated! I do not believe in demanding or bargining with God is possible. I do believe with all my heart that we need to prya all the time to be in the center of His will. Them we know with no doubts that we are where God wants us to be. No matter how God answers our prayer we are right in the will of God. I do believe it is right to ask if it is His will to heal or take a suffering person home. The clear point is our will must be His will. When thinking about this, it takes a lot of faith to trust that God knows what His will for us is. I hope this helps and is clear enough to understand. justme |

257 | Why did Jesus have to... | Rom 5:8 | justme | 189197
invisibledragon: Welcome to the Bible Study Forum. Your question is one which we hear from God seekers, would that be your quest? In John 3:16 there it clearly gives the reason, "for God so loved the world He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perrish, but have life everlasting." Jesus willingly became our prise for our sine. By His blood shed on the cross Jesus paid the price for our sins. If we choose to follow Jesus and make Him Lord of our life, we will not suffer hell for our sins, but will be saved by the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are not forced to believe this , or follow Jesus. That choice is for each of us to make. Have you made a choice yet? justme |

259 | Should I leave my church? | Luke 18:8 | justme | 189023
thenoel2: I can really relate to your situation. One of my fiest ministries was as Minister of Visitation and Sunday School. The growth was doing very well, and I could see areas that just did not seem right to my spirit. The pastor was avery determined man and he was always on the go. He was dynamic preacher! However, my spirit was unsetteled. I prayed and read Scripture, and my spirit grew even more concerned. Little things brthered me, the pastor was always too busy to pray together, and he failed to say anything encouraging about the churches growth. I knew in my soul something was out of place and with no doubt after seberal weeks I felt I needed to move on. I resigned and went back to North Phoenix baptist Church, with open arms me my family was welcomed back, where we had started from. About tow weeks later the pastors wife came to our door and told us the pastor had been in an adulterous relationship with an un married young woman. My wife and me, listened to this wife with three children tell of this very sad sinful situation. We was very sad, but the reason for our overwhelming unsettledness became all to clear. It takes a huge step of faith to step out with only the beliefe that the Lord is leading, even without solid proof as to why you feel led to move. This was my first ministry, as a paid staff person. I was deeply wounded, bbut not like his family was, they were torn so very deeply. This is not an unique experience as we often read about pastors who did not protect their selves and put up boundries to stop any such thing from happening to them. I have made it a hard and fast ruel not to counsel any woman alone. This may seen rather old fashion, but I assure it is well worth my witness for Christ. In Psalm 1, the first part of that chapter is a perfect guide for not only pastors but for everyone who carries the name of "Christian". Only you can tell what the Lord has upon your spirit, and only you can make the step of faith the lord wants you to do. Perhaps it's to stay? Pray and look for direction from the WORD. Blessings. justme |

rich: Jesus refered to "Holy Father" in John 17:11. I often start my prayer in this way. I have lived long enough to have heard people call out "hepl me God." It's not really "Biblical" but I am sure the Father heard it. What do you think about my first response? How about the second? justme |
