241 | Who is the Beloved Disciple? | Matt 4:21 | jlpangilinan | 114191
All the desciples were love by Christ: Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. It is John maybe the most (sweet, very close because he young like youngest son to his father) Easton Bible Dictionary Entry on: (3.) THE APOSTLE, brother of James the "Greater" (Mt 4:21; 10:2; He was the disciple whom Jesus loved. In zeal and intensity of character he was a "Boanerges" (Mr 3:17). This spirit once and again broke out (Mt 20:20-24; Mr 10:35-41; Lu 9:49,54). At the betrayal he and Peter follow Christ afar off, while the others betake themselves to hasty flight (Joh 18:15). At the trial he follows Christ into the council chamber, and thence to the praetorium (Joh 18:16,19,28) and to the place of crucifixion (19:26, 27). To him and Peter, Mary first conveys tidings of the resurrection (Joh 20:2), and they are the first to go and see what her strange words mean. After the resurrection he and Peter again return to the Sea of Galilee, where the Lord reveals himself to them (Joh 21:1,7). We find Peter and John frequently after this together (Ac 3:1; 4:13). John remained apparently in Jerusalem as the leader of the church there (Ac 15:6; Ga 2:9). His subsequent history is unrecorded. He was not there, however, at the time of Paul's last visit (Ac 21:15-40). He appears to have retired to Ephesus, but at what time is unknown. The seven churches of Asia were the objects of his special care (Re 1:11). He suffered under persecution, and was banished to Patmos (Re 1:9); whence he again returned to Ephesus, where he died, probably about A.D. 98, having outlived all or nearly all the friends and companions even of his maturer years. There are many interesting traditions regarding John during his residence at Ephesus, but these cannot claim the character of historical truth. God bless, |

242 | Hate your enemy? | Matt 5:1 | jlpangilinan | 74151
It is a commandments to the Israelites to destry thier enemy. De 7:2 And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercey unto them. 243 | Did Christ fulfill the law - yes or no? | Matt 5:17 | jlpangilinan | 22157
Kalos, I read two of your question to Searcher56, and it seems that he/she still would want to answer it directly. Some members also commenting in to it. In my own opinion, Yes! Christ did fulfill the law becuase he said it in that particular verse. And we know that He is not imprudent to say it and yet not fulfilling it. Thank you, Johnny |

244 | Law, Curses, Resurrection, Regeneration | Matt 5:18 | jlpangilinan | 74813
Mt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. He fullfill the law with the differ meaning, for example the sabbath it is punisheable by death under the law of moses if you do work in sabbath. But Christ and His desciples done different works in the day of sabbath: Mr 2:23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. Christ indeed heal in the day of sabbath. It is a very clear example that we please God in sabbath days by doing good deeds. Tithes really is not for Christian, the law of moses indeed is given specifically to them not for you not for your parents. De 5:3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day. So Christ did not gave order to any Christian to gave tithes but love offerings. The laws that given to the Christian was: Mt 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Mt 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. Mt 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Mt 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. When you observed this two commandments there is nothing in the law of moses that you disobey. God bless, |

245 | God's new covenant differ? | Matt 5:22 | jlpangilinan | 74806
It was differ, here are some of the example of Christ commandments Mt 5:21 ¶ Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 21. Easton Mt 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Under the law, (thou shalt not kill" before you condemn in the said sin or crime the person has to commit the actual killing, but under the commandments of christ to those who call raca in his brothers or sisters are committed sin already. Aside from that there has supposed to have three witness before this person can be condemn. De 17:6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. but in the law of Christ you already commit sin in your heart Mt 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. under the law the person has to commit the actual action before can commit sin but in Christ law you already commit sin in your heart when you look with lust towards a woman and vice versa. 246 | Is lusting after wife sin? | Matt 5:28 | jlpangilinan | 23435
Yes! Lusting after wife Sin. Part of two great commamdments is love your nieghboor as you love yourselves, Your wife is considered as your niegboors. God has specific teaching about man and wives: Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Eph 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. Eph 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. When we read those passages, we noticed that it says "love your wife like youself" and LOVE has a different meaning from LUST. Mt 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Man and wife will become one flesh. If you lust your wife mneaning you lust yourself too. How could you offer this kind of Body to Jesus Christ? 1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 19. 1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. "the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" If you the holy ghost which in you how can you lust in yourself? So the answer is very clear. "LUSTING AFTER WIFE IS SIN" I hope it would help. God bless, Johnny |

249 | where is it? | Matt 5:38 | jlpangilinan | 23453
Your question: "Can anyone tell me where in the New testament is says that we should not worry about following the laws in Exodus, like the eye for and eye thing?" I think it is not right if we mentioned that "we should not worry" but the right thing is "We must more aware of the "new commandments that given to us by Jesus Christ. AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH. is considerable came from the teaching of moises which is followed by the people of Israel. It is include also in the law of Moses, other example of that kind of teaching that if you saw anyone do anyhting in the day of sabbath they will stone to death. This kind of law will not anymore justified us: Ac 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. a 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. But this is not mean that we are not worry about the law. Jesus Christ gave us the two Great Commandments that will simplify every law of Moses: Mr 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 30. Mr 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. An example how Jesus Christ taught us of we careful of observing his Two Great Commandments. Joh 8:4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Joh 8:5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 5. Torrey Joh 8:6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. Joh 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 7. Joh 8:8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. Joh 8:9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. The sin committed by that woman is punishsable by death under the law of Moses. How about thou shall not kill it is also included under the ten commandments. If Jesus allows those people to stone that woman to death it is the same thing that He allow those people to disobey the law which is "Thou shall not Kill" law itself will contradict its own laws. But if you study the Two Great commandments there is no commandments will contradict itself. I hope it help. God bless, Johnny |

250 | why are sins equal but people are not | Matt 6:9 | jlpangilinan | 20179
When bad stuff happens to people it is not "God's Will" but God sometimes allows evil. So I think it is wrong that if there is something bad happened to people we said "God's will". For example: when Adam and Eve fall to temptation it is not God's will but God's allows it because person has free will to do what he want to do. Also when Lucifer become "Opposer" or Satan do you think it is God's will I think it is not God's will otherwise it is the God himself created the Devil. The will of of God is always good, that Jesus Christ taught us to pray. Our father, which include "Your kingdom come Your will be done in earth as it was in Heaven. Mt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Mt 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Mt 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. Mt 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Mt 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. If the will of God is not always good Jesus Christ would never taught us to pray our father. Now if there is something bad to people, it because of Devil who want people to become like him. If we remember this devil who try to put Jesus into temptation offered the Kingdoms of this world. Do you think satan can offer this world to Jesus if he (satan) is not the king of this world. Because as of now the kingdom of the father is still not come yet, that why we keep praying thy Kingdom come thy will be done in earth as it was in Heaven. Johnny |

251 | Kingdom of heaven/kingdom of God? | Matt 6:9 | jlpangilinan | 34885
They are the same: Christ mention that His Father is in Heaven: Mt 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Mt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Mt 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Kingdom of God (Mt 6:33; Mr 1:14-15; Lu 4:43) "kingdom of Christ" (Mt 13:41; 20:21) "kingdom of Christ and of God" (Eph 5:5) "kingdom of David" (Mr 11:10) "the kingdom" (Mt 8:12; 13:19) "kingdom of heaven" (Mt 3:2; 4:17; 13:41), all denote the same thing under different aspects, viz.: (1) Christ's mediatorial authority, or his rule on the earth; (2) the blessings and advantages of all kinds that flow from this rule; (3) the subjects of this kingdom taken collectively, or the Church. |

252 | No limit on what faith can do? | Matt 6:10 | jlpangilinan | 83345
That is true that we will not make improper request becaus ewe have faith. I would like you think about this passages regarding limitless of being have faith. Mt 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. The apostle commanded to cleanse leapers heal the sick but paul (cannot) heal the problem of timothy stomach. 1Ti 5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. Why paul not just ask God to heal the stomach of Timothy. God bless, |

253 | Can the church forgive sin? | Matt 6:12 | jlpangilinan | 33166
When Jesus Christ taught us to pray, I think it is very clear that only God can forgive our sins: Mt 6:9 ¶ After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Mt 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Mt 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. Mt 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Chirch is subject unto Christ He is the head of Church so it is Him can forgive our sins: Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. |

254 | How does forgiving affect me? | Matt 6:14 | jlpangilinan | 83512
It will affect not only your soul but even your salvation. Mt 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Mt 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. God bless, |

255 | What lesson of birds and flowers? | Matt 6:26 | jlpangilinan | 113850
Jesus want us to focus on heavenly things and would no be worried to much about eartly things such food garments etc. Jesus want us to have faith, if God feed the birds, God care for us more than the birds. Mt 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Today people concern is to earn money business position in the politics, they are to worried about the things that this world can offered but not worried about eternal life. Mt 6:19 ¶ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: Mt 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: Mt 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. If we serve God we must have faith that He will care for more than anything that He created, more than the birds or any fows of heaven. He will not leave us until the end of time. Mt 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. God bless, |

257 | Matt 7:1-2 ESV | Matt 7:4 | jlpangilinan | 102903
Christ in that verse that you quoted tried to explain to us not to be hypocryte by judging people but not looking in ourselves: Mt 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? We can judge, specially if the reason is to correct them and bring them back to right path: Joh 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. But how we can do a righteous judgement? Mt 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? God bless, |

258 | Matt 7:1-2 ESV | Matt 7:4 | jlpangilinan | 103016
I am talking of a rigteous judgement, that before we judge make sure we are doing right in our lives and not as a hypocryte. If my brother and sister falls into drugs I will bring them to rehab to make sure somebody will take care of them. If they dont I will bring to the prison. 1Co 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 1Co 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 1Co 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. If I am a drug addict before, is that what you mean? If I am a drug addict before but now as a renewed person, I will not condem those people, what I said is I will bring them to rehab to remove the drugs from thier body, if they dont then I will bring them to prison they can maybe kill or get killed if I allow them to continue using drugs. God bless, |

259 | Conversation With God? | Matt 7:16 | jlpangilinan | 83373
Hank, Here in the Philippines many preachers claim that they have conversation with God using the word "God revealed to me" or "God has a message to me" sound God communicate with them directly. Some of them do pronouncement of the second coming of Christ. Bang Ik Ha a young guy from Korea and had his mionistries here in the Philippines made his pronuoncement that God told him that Christ will come on October 10, 1992 and thanks God, it is not true the word of Christ was remained the true by saying that but the Father the one knew of His second coming. I think God communicate with me through my prayers, and through the things that I see as a proof of his guidance for me. Christ always remeind us to pray so I think it is the best way of communicating God: Mt 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. God bless, |
