241 | Why god Did not Speak for 400 years? | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 224057
Hello Pat888, Here's an available online article that may answer your question: Title: The 400 Years between the Old and New Testaments By: Ray C. Stedman Series: Adventuring through the Bible Also, there's a little book by H.A. Ironside "The 400 Silent Years" that addresses this matter. I don't know if it's still in print or not. I hope this can help. BradK |

242 | is it a sin to have sex on your period | 1 Cor 7:3 | BradK | 223991
Hello amour10, There's no scriptural prohibition that would apply to us as believers! (1 Cor. 7:3-5ff) "The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 1 Cor 7:4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 1 Cor 7:5 Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control." 243 | can satan hear my prayers in my mind | Gen 1:1 | BradK | 223934
Hello Linda, There is nothing from scripture to indicate that Satan can read our minds- or by inference - hear our (silent) prayers! I hope this helps, BradK |

244 | Jesus going to Hell | Rev 1:18 | BradK | 223930
Hello droach, There is nothing in scripture that states anything about Jesus going to Hell and taking keys away from Satan! In 1 Pet. 3:19 we're told that "...in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison," but the meaning here is uncertain at best. It says nothing about Hell and is (arguably) one of the most difficult NT passages! However, in Rev. 1:18 we do have, "...and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades." (NASB) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

249 | how could eve aviod satans deception | Gen 3:6 | BradK | 223869
Hello my love..., We don't know! What I can tell you is what's relayed to us according to scripture! They were deceived by the serpent (Gen.3:4, 1 Tim. 2:14). As a result, in Gen. 3:6-7, they fell into sin- "When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings." (NASB) To say anything other than what scripture states, would be conjecture! Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

250 | Heaven or Hell? | Rom 6:23 | BradK | 223852
Hello stephanie, We are all under condemnation and there are no second chances. One either believes in the Lord Jesus or he doesn't! Rom. 1:20 says, we are "...without excuse". Heb. 9:27 tells us, " And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment," Then, John 3:18 tells us, "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." Rom. 6:23 states the consequences, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (NASB) I hope this helps, BradK |

251 | is water-baptism needed for salvation? | Eph 2:8 | BradK | 223819
No, salvation is by grace through faith alone! Titus 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, Titus 3:7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 252 | Did Able give first fruits and not Cane? | Gen 2:17 | BradK | 223805
Hello jimore, Allow me to repost a previous response of mine to the same essential question: (ID#218588) I can give you a couple of reasons stated from scripture: 1. Heb 11:4 tells us, "By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks." (NASB) The corollary- and implication- is that Cain's sacrifice was not "by faith"; 2. In Gen. 3:17 we take note that God cursed the ground because of sin, "...Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it All the days of your life." (NASB) In Gen. 4:3 we're told, "So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the LORD of the fruit of the ground." (NASB) I hope this helps, BradK |

253 | who should pray? | 1 Tim 2:1 | BradK | 223712
Hello Anthony Sr. 1 Tim 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 1 Tim 2:2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 1 Tim 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 1 Tim 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Tim 2:6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time. 1 Tim 2:7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 1 Tim 2:8 Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. I hope this helps, BradK |

255 | age of accountiblity? | Rom 1:19 | BradK | 223686
Hello twbamagal, There is no verse as Scripture does not tell us of an "age of accountability"! However, Rom. 1:19- 20 tells us, "because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse." (NASB) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

259 | Are there generational curses on familie | Rom 3:23 | BradK | 223583
Hello Hood Rat, No, there is no strong Biblical support for the notion of generational curses! This generally comes from a misapplication of Lev. 26 or Deut. 28. The only real "curse" we are all under is called sin (Rom. 3:23). Our Lord Jesus Christ is the only answer! Thank God, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us--for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE"--" (gal. 3:13) BradK |
