221 | Jesus is God? | Matt 3:17 | Praise Be To God | 132737
How about the whole Bible? Is this person a Jehovah's Witness? That is a sign of a false religion, when they don't acknowledge Jesus as God. They argue with every scripture you will quote to them, showing how it has been altered or added later, or something is wrong with it. Try the scripture where God is speaking after Jesus is baptized, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17) Janae |

223 | Is the rapture biblically supported? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Praise Be To God | 132441
Hi, Kalos. Thank you for posting this information about the Second Coming of Christ. The way I was taught is, the Rapture is the Second Coming of Christ, and what is spoken of in Revelation 19 is actually the Third Coming of Christ. Here is why. In I Corinthians 15:52, the Bible states, "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed," and I Thessalonians 4:17 (which is posted above in its entirety) says, we shall "meet the Lord in the air." These verses are talking about the Rapture, which will be the second time Christ comes to earth, to gather His elect. What Revelation 19:11-16 is talking about is Christ coming in all his glory, with the armies of heaven, to smite the nations and rule with a rod of iron. Everyone will know that Christ has come! Everyone will see Him coming. Whereas, in the Rapture, only the Believers will know He has come, and we must be looking for his soon return. However, after learning yesterday that there are two schools of thought on this subject, I am going to study for myself and ask God to show me what is right. I will get back to you on my findings. Meanwhile, I appreciate any more information you can post which would shed light on this, apparently, very divisive subject, for I want to read everything I can about it, with an open mind. Thank you, And God bless you, Janae. |

224 | Is the rapture biblically supported? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Praise Be To God | 132345
Hi, Mark. Thanks for your input. I wrote a very long reply to you, but it doesn't seem to be here now, so I will start again. I do intend to contact you via e-mail to get your study notes on this subject, if you don't mind. That would be a wonderful help to me. My mind has been blown today because I have always been taught that all prophecies have been fulfilled and that Christ's return is imminent. I guess I have led a "sheltered" Christian life, because I don't know many Christians other than those who attend my church, and we get the same teaching, of course. Until today, I did not even know there was another view as to when the Rapture would occur! And, I want to thank you for pointing out that the "falling away" of 2 Thessalonians 2:3 would mean the Rapture, since, as you so rightly say, the church has always experienced spiritual falling away. That does make great sense. Your e-mail was very comforting to me. Thank you. God Bless you ALWAYS! Love in Christ Jesus, Janae. P.S. I looked at your profile, and could not determine how to contact you. |

225 | Is the rapture biblically supported? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Praise Be To God | 132301
Kalos, I just wanted you to know that I no longer attend the church where I was taught imminence. In my new church, the pastor has not taught on it since I have been there, so I don't know what he believes in this regard. I intend to ask him this Sunday. I moved to a different area, so it was needful that I change churches after 11-1/2 years of being in the church where I was saved. The pastor of my old church retired after 44-1/2 years, and I thought every word he spoke was true. He was my mentor. But I should have investigated for myself and not just taken his word for it. He always told us to do just that. I am glad that I found this board, where ideas and statements are backed up by God's Word, and I will not make statements in the future unless I have the scripture to prove it. Thanks for listening. Blessings to you, Janae. |

226 | Is the rapture biblically supported? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Praise Be To God | 132297
Kalos, Regarding 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4: You've got me there. I can't argue with that. It is very plainly talking about the Rapture. I have been taught imminence for the entirety of my salvation experience (13 years) and now I must study this thoroughly and pray and ask God to show me what is right. Thank you, Kalos, for your very wise counsel. You are right about the evidence. I just took my pastor's word for it that all prophecies have been fulfilled. But you have shown me what God's Word says, and I agree with you about the two prophecies which have not yet been fulfilled. Blessings to you, Janae. Blesssings to you, Janae |

Kalos, I forgot to give you my scripture for my previous note: I Corinthians 15:51-53. Thank you. Blessings. Janae |

228 | Is the rapture biblically supported? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Praise Be To God | 132292
Kalos, I checked out the information on the web site as you have suggested, and I want to tell you that scripture which they attribute to the rapture is actually talking about when Jesus Christ comes back to earth in all His power and glory with the Saints of God (who heretofore have been with Him, enjoying the Marriage Supper of the Lamb) to rule and reign upon this earth. It is not talking about the rapture. The rapture takes place quietly, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. When Christ comes back in all His glory, all the world will see and know that it is He, and we will be with Him. Blessings to you, Janae Whitlock |

229 | Is the rapture biblically supported? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Praise Be To God | 132287
All prophecies have been fulfilled which need to be fulfilled before the return of Christ; therefore, his return is imminent.
230 | Is the rapture biblically supported? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Praise Be To God | 132205
It does appear that Rev. 7:9 is talking about the Bride of Christ, the Saints who were raptured, and not just those who are saved during The Great Tribulation: " . . . a great multitude which no man could number, of all nations and kindreds and people, and tongues . . . But, I have been taught that we are going to miss The Great Tribulation--that we are going to be raptured BEFORE The Great Tribulation.
231 | Is the rapture biblically supported? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Praise Be To God | 132199
No, it is not. However, the Rapture could occur at any moment, and we should live each hour as if Jesus is coming this very day and hour, and not look to a future event to occur first.
232 | Is the rapture biblically supported? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Praise Be To God | 132175
Dearest Tim, I am very glad to hear you say this! Can you please show me which Scripture(s) point(s) to 3-1/2 years into Daniel's 70th week? I would be very interested to learn this. Thank you. May God bless you always! Janae Whitlock |

233 | Is the rapture biblically supported? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Praise Be To God | 132167
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. The above is talking about the rapture, do you agree? It states that only the Father knows the day and hour. Therefore, how can you say that the church will be raptured 3-1/2 years into Daniel's 70th week? |

234 | 2 CORITHIANS 10 VS3-4-5 | Eph 6:13 | Praise Be To God | 132162
It is talking about spiritual warfare. Every day, in prayer, I "bind" my mind to the mind of Christ, so that I will bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. And I "loose" imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. It is all part of putting on the armor of God.
235 | Armor of God- How to apply in daily life | Eph 6:13 | Praise Be To God | 132160
As part of my daily devotion, I make a declaration to Jesus Christ and pray a prayer to put on the armor of God.
236 | Annointing | Matt 6:17 | Praise Be To God | 132088
The anointing comes from the Holy Spirit. At my church, we pray that God would anoint the words spoken by our pastor in his Sunday morning message; the anointing is God's stamp of approval on something. People often pray that their ministry would be anointed; that their words would be anointed, etc. We also ask God to anoint our musicians for the Sunday morning service--every note sung or played--and that they would take us into the Holy of Holies through their music. I sing solos in church and when the anointing comes upon my songs, people's hearts are touched--people cry and praise God, lifting their hands to Him. We should all desire the anointing.
237 | Integrity | Num 12:7 | Praise Be To God | 132037
Greetings, Country Girl. Thank you for your great response. Yes, I had thought of Enoch--another very good example of integrity. As you so rightly say, there are plenty of good candidates from God's Word. Job is a very good example, and there is even scripture to back it up. But, we have overlooked the obvious. The greatest example of integrity in the Bible is Jesus Christ.
238 | Integrity | Num 12:7 | Praise Be To God | 132001
Hello, Aaron. It is nice to meet you. Although, as you say, there are many good choices, I have decided that I think Job is the greatest example of integrity. We even have scriptures to back it up. Thanks to Kalos. So, in my mind, it's not Joseph; and it's not Daniel; not Moses, nor King David. Yes, decidely, it is Job. Thank you for participating. Praise be to God! Janae |

It's got to be Job. We even have the scriptures to prove it. Thanks, Kalos.
