21 | Would a gentle spirit work? | John 12:32 | christian7 | 103884
Aixen7z4: Truly a kind gentle spirit will go a lot further than one that is not. It is my blessing from God to have received a verse in one way only to come to this forum and have it revealed in context. Words have different meanings and when taken into context a verse makes God's message clear and easier to minister. Take the thread in this discussion for and example. There are ways we can take a scripture received from God and run away with it. Jehovah witnesses are famous for this and some other cults also. But I don’t want to get into all that right now. Now even though when we "lift up" the name of Jesus, we are not actually "lifting Him up". To wit, scripture must be taken as a whole. I have misunderstood a lot of scriptures by not taking it in context. You know the preceding verses and following verses. When I came to the Forum it was simply put into context for me. I didn't like it at first as I thought it should remain the way I received it from the Lord. But the bible does teach us to rightly divide the word. As many others that come here with a preconceived view to a certain scripture, when our view is smashed, from being what we thought it was there is an offence taken. Now the question in our pea brain is “am I going to let this person change what the Lord has given me in my spirit"? A red flag automatically goes up because someone is changing what we received as scripture from God. But when we put our flag down and look at what is being said to us is in clear teaching we should rejoice at the new understanding that the Lord has revealed to us. It is my opinion and a proven fact on this forum that when ones view is challenged that the overwriting factor is what scripture really says, in its context, and received as such. When this occurs there is an understanding and all are edified. When this doesn’t happen someone is offended and threads run on and on till they are restricted. Usually it is the latter of the two. The bottom line here is someone is usually trying to make you see it their way and if you don’t then you’re not as smart as you think. It’s my observation that if you are coming here with an agenda or trying to force your opinion to others its best to stay off. Otherwise someone will eventually have you removed. There is room for those who are weak as I am one of the weakest. I have learned very much through this forum and find it a great place to come if and I stress if you are willing to learn. God Bless |

BIBLEguru: I have it listed in my bible as 1061 B.C. Though some one else may have more information on his death. Born 1171 B.C. KJV 1 Samuel 25:1 1. And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran. God Bless |

24 | noah send the dove from the ark | Gen 8:8 | christian7 | 103313
spottake: You will find 2 times the dove went out. Hope this helps. ASV Genesis 8:8-11 8. And he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; 9. but the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him to the ark; for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: and he put forth his hand, and took her, and brought her in unto him into the ark. 10. And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; 11. and the dove came in to him at eventide; and, lo, in her mouth an olive-leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. 25 | What is a covering? | 1 Cor 11:15 | christian7 | 103262

As I enjoy reading through many of your past post and gain much insight from what you have written, time does not allow me to read all or near all of the wonderful things you have written. 26 | What is a covering? | 1 Cor 11:15 | christian7 | 103258
Makarios: It is also my understanding that a great movement of that time in Corinth, was of women shaving thier heads to make a statement that they were rebelling against the authority of men. This being the case, New Born female believers, that were followers of Jesus Christ, were appearing to be in agreement with the women that were going against the teachings of church of God(1Corinthians 1:2 not a denominational statement). Thus verse 5 in 1Corinthians 11 "But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonoreth her head; for it is one and the same thing as if she were shaven." This along with the fact of verse 7. For a man indeed ought not to have his head veiled, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. The woman being the glory of the man, and the women of that day shaving there heads in rebelion against man, was sending a confusing message to the New Believers. God Bless |

27 | Prophetic perfect tense in other verses? | Ps 102:16 | christian7 | 103247
Jehonadab: This is but a few instances to show how the NWT is decieving many. John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Titus 2:13 says, "Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus." John 20:28 says, "And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God." 2Corinthians 11:4 says, "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him." Philippians 2:6 says, "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:" 1John 5:7 says, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." Revelation 1:8. I am reading from the Jehovah's Witness Bible, and it reads, "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says Jehovah God. "What does Alpha and Omega mean?" "How many Alphas and Omegas can you have?" Revelation 22:12-13 "Look I am coming quickly, and the reward I give is with me....I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." Revelation 1:8. I am reading from the Jehovah's Witness Bible, and it reads, "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says Jehovah God. Look at verse sixteen, "I Jesus, sent my angel to bear witness to you people of these things for the congregations. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star." It is Jesus speaking in verse twelve. If there is any doubt go to verse 20 which says, "He that bears witness of these things says, 'Yes; I am coming quickly' Amen come Lord Jesus." So it is clear that the Alpha and the Omega in verse twelve is Jesus. Isaiah 44:6 says, "This is what Jehovah has said, 'The king of Israel and the Repurchaser of him, Jehovah of armies, I am the first and I am the last." How many firsts and lasts can you have? "Who is the first and the last?" turn to Revelation 1:17-18 which says, "Do not be fearful; I am the First and the Last, and the living one; and I became dead but look! I am living forever." Who is speaking here? Obviously, it is Jesus for He died but is now alive, and guess what? He is called the First and the Last. Jesus is God. Jehovah of armies, I am the First and I am the Last." God Bless |

28 | Who prayed | Acts 21:4 | christian7 | 103165
mes: The Disciples and thier fammilies. Also look in Acts 20:36. It was common for Paul to pray with everyone before he would leave them. Hope this helps. Acts 21:4. And "FINDING DISCIPLES", we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem. 5. And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed. 29 | Caiaphas's prophecy misinterpreted? | John 11:51 | christian7 | 103160
Nolan: I don't believe that the prophecy was a misinterpretation. I find it to be a fullfilling prophecy. Jesus knowing His hour was at hand had to set things in order for the fullfillment to come to pass. Surely the high priest knew the scriptures and was, as many before hand had been, ready for the One that might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad." It almost seems as if Caiaphas knows what its going to take for this to come to pass as he felt it was expedient. And yes it is very interesting to note that the 'high priest' (Caiaphas) was sentencing the Ultimate High Priest (Hebrews 5:9,10) to death. KJV Isaiah 49:6 6. And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth KJV John 10:16-18 16. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 17. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. KJV Ephesians 2:14-17 14. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15. Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16. And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17. And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. Its my belief that God used Caiaphas in the same way He used Pharaoh. To accomplish His divine plan for us all. God Bless |

30 | Description of jesus written in the BIBL | Rev 1:14 | christian7 | 103156
WilderHD: These are the scriptures that I have found to discribe Jesus. Hope this helps. KJV Isaiah 53:2 2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. KJV Isaiah 52:14 14. As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: KJV Matthew 17:2 2. And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. KJV Daniel 7:9 9. I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. KJV Psalms 104:2 2. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: KJV Revelation 1:14-15 14. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15. And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. KJV Isaiah 50:6 6. I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. God Bless |

35 | Unbelief original sin? | Gen 2:17 | christian7 | 102920
Hank: I would just like to add that unbelief of what God has said, is the beginning of evil and sin. When we fail to believe what God has said to us even today it falls into the catagory of unbelief. The original sin? God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: Gen 3:3,4 when we chose to not believe what God has said, we open the door to evil. I would also like for you to expound on this verse if you would please. It is confusing me a bit. thank you friend. Proverbs 16:4.The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. God Bless |

36 | Where does Satan come from? | Is 14:12 | christian7 | 102912
seeker78: here are some bible verses that may help you as you seek for your answers. KJV Isaiah 14:12-15 12. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13. For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. KJV Ezekiel 28:13-19 13. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the Beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. Keep turning those pages and may God Bless you as you study His word. God Bless |

37 | name/date of 1st church establ in U.S. | Acts 8:1 | christian7 | 102909
harpin4Jesus: We can follow the Church that started in Jerusalem in 33A.D.and spread from there abroad beginning in the book of Acts chapter 8.in 38 A.D. 1. And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. Now the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit fell in the upper room was dated around 33 A.D. This was the start of thousands commiting their lives to Christ Jesus. Acts 8 is dated around 38 A.D. I hope this helps. You will enjoy following the Church from here to where we are today. God Bless |

38 | Just a thought. What's yours? | 1 Cor 11:18 | christian7 | 102837
George: You were forgiven even before you asked. KJV Matthew 6:9-15 9. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11. Give us this day our daily bread. 12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. God Bless |

Hank I just want to thank you for your kindness toward this Forum and myself. To have someone be so kind is an honor. I once heard that salt is made up of two poisons, sodium and cloride. Each by its self is very dangerious. But bring them together and you have something that can make things in life much more pleasing. Jesus said ye are the salt of the earth. I agree God Bless |
