21 | when we die where do we go immediately | Bible general Archive 1 | childoftheking | 39656
Hello Pam, I don’t believe your question got the attention it deserved so I will attempt to answer it for you. You answered your first question. We do go directly to be with the Lord but notice the first part of that verse, 2Cor 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord". KJV To be absent from the body: This means that when we die, our spirit leaves the body to be with Jesus. Now when Jesus comes back to rapture the Church, the dead in Christ will rise first. The Spirit of the dead in Christ will rejoin their bodies (The body cannot live without the Spirit. James 2:26) and the mortal body will become an immortal body, an incorruptible body; a spiritual body. Just as Jesus' body laid in the grave for 3 days as his Spirit was in Paradise (he was preaching to the Old Testament Saints.1 Peter 4:6). When he was raised from the grave, his Spirit reentered his body and this is how it will be during the Rapture. Read 1 Corinthians 15 but I will post verses 42 -54 in the Amplified version. 42) “So it is with the resurrection of the dead. [The body] that is sown is perishable and decays, but [the body] that is resurrected is imperishable (immune to decay, immortal). 43) It is sown in dishonor and humiliation; it is raised in honor and glory. It is sown in infirmity and weakness; it is resurrected in strength and endued with power. 44) It is sown a natural (physical) body; it is raised a supernatural (a spiritual) body. [As surely as] there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body. 45) Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit [restoring the dead to life]. 46) But it is not the spiritual life which came first, but the physical and then the spiritual. 47) The first man [was] from out of earth, made of dust (earthly-minded); the second Man [is] the Lord from out of heaven. 48) Now those who are made of the dust are like him who was first made of the dust (earthly-minded); and as is [the Man] from heaven, so also [are those] who are of heaven (heavenly-minded). 49) And just as we have borne the image [of the man] of dust, so shall we and so let us also bear the image [of the Man] of heaven. 50) But I tell you this, brethren, flesh and blood cannot [become partakers of eternal salvation and] inherit or share in the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable (that which is decaying) inherit or share in the imperishable (the immortal). 51) Take notice! I tell you a mystery (a secret truth, an event decreed by the hidden purpose or counsel of God). We shall not all fall asleep [in death], but we shall all be changed (transformed) 52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [in Christ] will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed). 53) For this perishable [part of us] must put on the imperishable [nature], and this mortal [part of us, this nature that is capable of dying] must put on immortality (freedom from death). 54) And when this perishable puts on the imperishable and this that was capable of dying puts on freedom from death, then shall be fulfilled the Scripture that says, Death is swallowed up (utterly vanquished (forever) in and unto victory." Hope this helps. Your brother in Christ, bgg |

22 | when we die where do we go immediately | Bible general Archive 1 | childoftheking | 39913
Pam, There isn't any scripture that supports your theory. Your theory is shot down("...SUPPOSE WE (OUR SPIRITS) DO FALL ASLEEP") right from the beginning. Our Spirits do not sleep. As scripture states, we go to be with the Lord when we're absent from the body. 2 Cor. 5:8 To "sleep" as in (1 Cor. 11:30 you mentioned) and in 1 Thess 4:14 "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him." in the Greek means "to decease", "be dead". It's our bodies that sleep(are dead). bgg P.S. It is much easier to read and understand posts when they are not all CAPS. :-) |

24 | tribulation vs. wrath | NT general Archive 1 | childoftheking | 35593
zach†, I understand what you say about confusion but I'm not going to second guess all I believe in becuase I happen to be wrong about the timing of the rapture. I happen to believe in the "pre trib" rapture. Here's the thing, even if my interpretation of when the Lord is coming back is wrong, I'm still not going to deny my faith. I will still hold fast to the truth that the Lord is coming for his Church. I will still hold fast to the plain truth that Jesus will never leave me nor forsake me. I still know that the Ant-Christ is coming to decieve the world, so I believe I would bury myself deeper into the Word and into Prayer with Jesus. My faith and hope concerning this is not based on "when" the Lord is coming back but that he "is" coming back and this I believe that all Christians can agree and I pray that we all keep that fact close to our hearts. God Bless bgg |

It's amazing how much tripe(putting it mildly) the enemy has come up with over the years to deceive people. May the Word of God open their eyes.... 26 | In the book of Exodus what form did the | Exodus | childoftheking | 36063
Hi Moriah, Exodus 12:23 speaks of the "destroyer". "For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to smite you." In Numbers 33:4 It says that the Lord struck down the firstborn but I think this means that it was the Lord that "ordered" it and an angel did the destroying. Referring back to the plagues on Egypt, in the NASB, Psalms 78:49 says that they were "a band of destroying angels" while the KJV calls them “Evil angels”. Other passages mentioning a destroying angel are in 1Chron 21:12,15 but I’m sure there are more. I don't know the "form" of the destroyer. I presume whatever form an angel is. Hebrews 11:28 in the New Living Translation speaks of the "angel of death". "It was by faith that Moses commanded the people of Israel to keep the Passover and to sprinkle blood on the doorposts so that the angel of death would not kill their firstborn sons." This is the only translation that uses "angel of death". God Bless!! bgg |

28 | Is good magic evil and a sin too? | Lev 19:31 | childoftheking | 38715
Hello Jane, God does not approve of anything to do with spells of any sort. Deut 18:10 "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 "For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD; and because of these detestable things the LORD your God will drive them out before you." Leviticus 20:6 'As for the person who turns to mediums and to spiritists, to play the harlot after them, I will also set My face against that person and will cut him off from among his people" Stay clear of any of that junk as it's straight from the Devil. May God guide your way bgg |

29 | what is the importance of fasting? | Neh 1:4 | childoftheking | 38995
Hi Jayanth, Can you explain what you mean by "what i mean is that if you deprive any thing that the flesh wants then it is a fast by itself" Can you give an example. Strongs Concordance: Fast-- Abstaining from food. "Moreover when ye FAST, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to FAST. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou FASTEST, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; that thou appear not unto men to FAST, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly." 30 | What is to be radiant? | Ps 34:5 | childoftheking | 38821
Greetings Jesse, "were raidant" radiant is from the Hebrew word 'nahar' which means to sparkle, i.e. (figuratively) be cheerful; hence (from the sheen of a running stream) to flow, i.e. (figuratively) assemble:--flow (together), be lightened, expressing joy Isaiah 60:4 "Lift up your eyes round about and see; They all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from afar, And your daughters will be carried in the arms" 5 "Then you will see and be radiant, And your heart will thrill and rejoice; Because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you,The wealth of the nations will come to you." Psalm 36:9 "For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. Many besides David have looked unto God by faith and prayer, and have been lightened by it, It has wonderfully revived and comforted them;" witness Hannah, who, when she had prayed, went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad" MH You could probably use it in the way that a pregnant woman can "look radiant". 31 | are there husband, wife responsibilities | Matthew | childoftheking | 36944
Hi Wakiio, The Bible has all the answers of how we're to live while on this earth. First and foremost, we are to submit ourselves to the Lord. Proverbs 31:10 "An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels" Proverbs 12:4 "A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones." 1 Peter 3 1) IN LIKE manner, you married women, be submissive to your own husbands [subordinate yourselves as being secondary to and dependent on them, and adapt yourselves to them], so that even if any do not obey the Word [of God], they may be won over not by discussion but by the [godly] lives of their wives, 2) When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him--to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband]. 3) Let not yours be the [merely] external adorning with [elaborate] interweaving and knotting of the hair, the wearing of jewelry, or changes of clothes; 4) But let it be the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which [is not anxious or wrought up, but] is very precious in the sight of God. 5) For it was thus that the pious women of old who hoped in God were [accustomed] to beautify themselves and were submissive to their husbands [adapting themselves to them as themselves secondary and dependent upon them]. 6) It was thus that Sarah obeyed Abraham [following his guidance and acknowledging his headship over her by] calling him lord (master, leader, authority). And you are now her true daughters if you do right and let nothing terrify you [not giving way to hysterical fears or letting anxieties unnerve you]. 7) In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God's unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.] Amplified version Read 1 Corinthians Chapter 7, Chapter 11: 1-16 Ephesians 5 Colossians 3 starting in verse 18 Porverbs 31 starting in verse 10 Love in Christ bgg |

32 | But Satan is our enemy, so how? | Matthew | childoftheking | 39019
The enemies, the ones that persecute us that Jesus was talking about in Matthew 5:44 are humans. Romans 12: 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. 17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. 19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord. 20 "BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." 1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." 1 John3:8 "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Peace in Jesus bgg |

36 | more info. on baptism, what way we shoul | Matt 28:19 | childoftheking | 40329
Hello Jenna, The above words in the verse came straight from our Lord Jesus. For your sis n law to say that to be baptized in this fashion isn't right (I'm reading between the lines here) is not correct. This is the way Jesus commanded it be done. Other places in the Bible say in the name of The Lord (acts 10:48), or in the name of the Lord Jesus (acts 19:5), or in the name of Jesus Christ (acts 2:38). Some think that even though Peter said to be baptized in the name of Jesus that he actually did in fact baptize the way Jesus commanded them to do, "INTO the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." Or in other words, that Peter was saying to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ whereby meaning; "the way Jesus commanded it to be done". Personally, I believe that what Jesus said in the above verse is the way to baptize. Love in Christ bgg |

37 | Tell me about Mark. 11:20-24 | Mark | childoftheking | 38814
Hi Friendley, This passage is a parallel to Matthew 21:18-22 You have to go back to verse 11 to get Jesus' mind set. He went into the temple and "looked around at everything". Were the money changers there at that time? I don't know, maybe. On his way back to Jerusalem Jesus cursed the fig tree because it had no fruit. This is kind of a parallel to how the scribes and Pharisee’s present the outward appearance of Godliness but have nothing of God in their hearts, they bear no fruit. Likewise the Fig tree appeared to have fruit but was bearing leaves only and usually when there are leaves, there are figs. Then notice next that Jesus went into the Temple and drove out the money changers. Mark 12 Jesus points out the widow throwing in her two mites. Matthew 23 Jesus is speaking Woes unto the Scribes and Pharisees and how they “devour widows houses.” Matthew 24 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. This I belive is symbolic to the fig tree in that the fig tree was dried up by it's roots and Jesus is going to do the same thing with the system that the Scribes and Pharisees hold. Utter destruction is what "not one stone upon another" signifies. The other message from the fig tree is that if we have Faith in God, we can move mountains in our life. A mountain is representative of any insurmountable problem we might have in life. We don’t need to go around any mountains but we can move them as long as we have faith in God. Jesus says in verse 24, “"Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.” The main thing in that verse is “believe that you have received them”, which means you must believe the moment you pray for something that it will be done. Look at it in the Amplified Version 23Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. 24For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. However, you can’t stop at that verse. You have to read further to verses 25 and 26. We must not hold back forgiveness to anyone. If we Love Jesus, we must keep the Lords commandments (John 14:15). We must Love on another (John 16:17). We must abide in Jesus and have his Word abide in us (John 15:7). We are to “bear fruit”, fruit that is lasting [that it may remain, abide], John 15:16), then we will be granted what we ask as long as we believe. Love in Jesus bgg |

39 | Question not answered..... any help? | Mark 16:16 | childoftheking | 39908
Luke, Your question has been answered. As you well know, you posted your question on a Bible Study Forum. The first "rule" if you will is to support our answers with scripture and besides that, it’s the word of God that you have to hear in order for you to have something to “think about”. Your answer is in the Bible and in the verses that Kalos supplied in his post. If you have heard the Gospel as you say, then you know why we are all condemned if we do not believe on Jesus. There is only one Gospel. As Christians, we believe that every word written in the Bible is inspired by God. There are no assumptions here. God did create man, created with brains and the power to think and choose. Seeing as how man chose to disobey God from the beginning; God, being a God of Love, sacrificed His only Son and is giving us a choice as to whether or not we want to spend eternity with Him or spend it in the Lake of fire. The choice He gives us is whether or not to believe that Jesus is the son of God, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, shed His blood for the remission of our sins, and after 3 days rose triumphantly from the grave and is now sitting at the right hand of the throne of God. It’s as simple as that. As many times as you hear the word of our Lord Jesus, God is giving you the opportunity to use that brain, and heart and thinking power to either believe in the Lord Jesus or not. Christianity is not “following the crowd”, nor is it a religion. You want proof? How about Israel? It's just a little place. You think it hasn't been conquered by now because it's some Military Powerhouse? How about the existence of the universe? The big bang theory doesn’t prove it. How about the miracle of birth, the complexity of the human body? Darwin’s theory of evolution? I don’t think so. You have heard of the doubting Thomas? John 20:29 "Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed." I pray that you step out in Faith and believe in our Lord Jesus. I pray that you call upon Jesus and be saved. Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” bgg |

40 | Why Apostles asked for increased faith? | Luke 17:5 | childoftheking | 37891
Why did they ask for their Faith to be increased? In Luke 15 Jesus talks about finding a lost sheep, a lost coin, a lost son. In Luke 16 Jesus talks about the unrighteous Steward and “the Rich man and Lazarus.” Now in Luke 17 Jesus says: 1 He said to His disciples, "It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come! 2 It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble. 3 "Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 "And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, 'I repent,' forgive him." 5 The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!" They saw Jesus cast our Demons, Heal the sick, make the Blind to see, make the lame walk. They saw Jesus calm the wind and the seas, walk on water, feed the multitude with 5 loaves and 2 fish. Jesus told Peter he needed to forgive his brother not 7 times, but 70 times 7. Jesus brought back the dead, and yet not at any time after any of those instances did they ask for their faith to be increased. So why after telling them to forgive their brother 7 times if he repent do they ask for their faith to be increased? Could it be a particular sin Jesus is talking about here? In the Prodigal son, the one brother was crying because his father was throwing a party for the brother that was found who stole much from the father. The Unrighteous steward was commended after “squandering possessions” from the rich man for his shrewd business dealings. Then there was the rich man who wouldn’t give Lazarus the crumbs off his table. It seems that Jesus had a “wealth” or “finance” lesson going on here starting in Chapter 15. Could it be that Jesus was talking about if your Brother steal from you, in a financial sense? Blessings in Christ bgg |
