21 | On the baptism subject- TITLES? | Matt 28:19 | borgain | 56683
Hi stebert1 To add to your em ....question. Note the "in the" in the verse. This means under the authority of the name i.e from the Strongs 3686 onoma onoma on’-om-ah 1) name: univ. of proper names 2) the name is used for everything which the name covers, everything the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by mentioning, hearing, remembering, the name, i.e. for one’s rank, authority, interests, pleasure, command, excellences, deeds etc. 3) persons reckoned up by name 4) the cause or reason named: on this account, because he suffers as a Christian, for this reason So when we baptize etc we must do it in the Name and not the Person. I hope this put some more fuel on the fire. Borgain |

22 | XMAS RELIGION OR MAN MADE | Luke 2:13 | borgain | 61669
Hi This is a real problem and if we put some of todays christains next to "non-christains", do we see a difference? They speak the same things, do the same things etc. The christians might visit a "church" more often then the other. Unfortunately some christians, learned to become christians and never met Jesus. Then you might find those way out Christians (that lost it), that don't believe in these holidays, because of 1 Cor 11 : 23 - 26 and other scriptures, (and the conviction by the Holy Spirit) 23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat;[2] this is My body which is broken[3] for you; do this in REMEMBRANCE of Me." 25In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in REMEMBRANCE of Me." 26For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes. And then the "we don't want to lose" our members issue, because that won't look good in our register and finances....... We are whom we serve, we do the same things, speak the same ideas. Borgain |

23 | Can I remarry and be forgiven by god | Luke 7:47 | borgain | 72514
Hi Read Luk 7:36-50 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I believe you can be forgiven, by the repentance of your sin. Which means, to admit it, believe Jesus can/will for give you, and to confess it and ask Him for forgiveness. A repented person will turn 180 degrees around and never do "that" again. You also have to ask your husband and children (because they are also affected by our wrong choices sometimes) for forgiveness. If they don't want to forgive you that's then between God and them (forgive us as we forgive others). And forgive him (your husband), tell him that. And pray pray pray, lest we fall for the temptation that comes our way. 24 | Does God or Jesus hear a sinners prayer? | Luke 18:13 | borgain | 53203
Hi Welcome to the forum. Luke 18:9-14 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, "God, I thank You that I am not like other men--extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.' And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, "God, be merciful to me a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Yes, God do hear a sinners prayer when he repents of his sin and believe that Jesus came to set him/her free and confess it. Jesus came for the lost (Mat 9:13). As easy as ABC A for Admitting he is a sinner, B for Believing that Jesus came to set us free and C for Confessing it. Act 3:19,20 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. Thus a father will always hear to his children. Eph 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. John 9:31 Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. So if a sinner repents God wil hear him. Hope this helps |

25 | What is the right thing to do. | Luke 20:25 | borgain | 49718
Hi Luke 20:23-25 23But He perceived their craftiness, and said to them, "Why do you test Me? 24Show Me a denarius. Whose image and inscription does it have?" They answered and said, "Caesar's." 25And He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." 26 | Is it a sin to run away from home? | John 16:33 | borgain | 46850
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me (Jesus) you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. If we run away from situations in our lives, we have not solved them. We can decide if we are a victim or a conqueror of it. The Bible is clear not to resist man but the devil. To try and teach someone else a lesson by doing something will only have sort lived pleasure/victory. NEVER let feeling run your life. I pray that God will send someone across your path that can pray for you and with you about all your needs. Remember God emergency phone number Jer 33:3 - Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know. |

27 | Where is the Loving God???? | John 16:33 | borgain | 59496
Hi God is a gentleman. If we don't want Him in your schools, goverments, homes, workplace and life's, He will not force Himself in. Things can happen and because of the wall that we build between Him and us, He "can't" help us, because we want to do it first and not alow Him to do it thru us. (Look at the life of Lot) Jesus said, that we will have trouble in the world, and what they have done to Him they will do to those who follow Him. There are to many prosperity preachers, that emphases on the FICTION it will always go well with God's children. Then after a few years people believe it is true, not realizing that it isn't. There also the other side of the coin, testing(growing) of your faith, like Job, Moses, Abraham etc. The natural man does not understand this (and other things), and that is where prayer comes in. (And it is always easier to blame someone else.) Borgain |

28 | Is believing the same as knowing? | Acts 15:11 | borgain | 65701
Hi MarieH The scripture that your daughter might be using or heard about may be the following: 1 John 2:3-5 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. The is a big difference in the words know and believe for me, but because of the one the other happens. If you are married, you believe that your husband is faithfull (when you can not see what he is doing), but you also know him, what he likes and what he doesn't. To believe Heb 11 and as you said He died for us and He lives. Then to know Him means that you talk to Him i.e. have a relationship with Him, you know what He wants. To have a teachable spirit is vey important, if you cut with the sword(Bible) it cuts back aswell. It will not help to argue with your daugter, but pray FOR her and WITH her that she might see the truth throught the Word. 29 | Is it wrong to have pictures of Jesus? | Rom 1:23 | borgain | 27608
According to what I have heard, is in those times the Corinthian prostitutes had long hair and the females short or no hair. Thus as to day Paul was only warning us that symbols can let other people stumble. We have to stop consentrating on the creation and start consentrating on the Creator. Remember what Peter wrote about Pauls letters, it can be twisted by some people and is hard to understand way he said so. And then there is the issue about Samson and the Nazirites. We like to interperate and translate the inspired Word as what will suite us. But to the real reality Titus 3:9 : But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. We need a revivalution(A Revolution plus A Revival) in the church. |

31 | Can we pray Romans 10:1 on the USA | Rom 10:1 | borgain | 66281
Hi Seneca Yes. 1 Tim 2: 3-5 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, We had prayer meetings on Wednesday nights and some nights we went into the streets and started praying for the people whoe lived in a street or blocks. It was usually collective. Then the following months we could not keep up with all the visitors (from these streets/blocks) that wanted to know more. Some accepted Christ. Jesus died for every one, we can not be selective, to whom we want to proclaim the good new. What is impossible for us is possible for God. Borgain |

Hi 1 Cor 11:23-26 23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 25In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This is the way Paul reminded the Corinthians and us to remember Jesus, and what He has done for us. Borgain |

33 | inmorality also if the couple will marry | Eph 5:31 | borgain | 63826
Hi fle Sex is the act of marriage. It is the seal of the covenant between husband and wife. They are then one after the act. Asking the question shows me the Holy Spirit, has already spoken to you in your heart(s) about it. Sex resembles our relationship with Christ. You can not ask Christ into our life without becoming saved. (A marriage certificate is only a legal document on earth.) Some other scripture Ex 22:16-17 Deut 20 Borgain |

34 | next step..? | Eph 5:31 | borgain | 63874
Hi I see a can of worms were opened, if you read some of the other posts. :-) With my first response to you, I tried to paint a picture of how important the act of sex is. Thus if you had sex with 10 different people you have married and divorced them all. If the reason for these persons were not marriage, but lust, then they have to repent - it sin. If the reason was marriage (which include the knowledge of what marriage is) and they seperate (divorce) and get another partner, and do the same thing again. They are busy with adultery. (Mat 5:27,28,32) The same as you can not become one with Christ and the world, that is adultery. Lets look at Jesus and the samaritan woman in John 4:16-18. 16Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here." 17The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have well said, "I have no husband,' 18for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly." You can have a sexual relationship and think it is marriage but it is not. So the next step to take for these believers is to take stock and see why it(sex) happened the first time, and take it from there. If it was because of lust etc. then repent, Jesus will forgive them and THEN let them consider what was done and set it right. Marriage is the union of two people thru God, and they can only come closer to each other thru Him and not of becuase of any commen things in their lifes. Thru marriage new life comes as we are "married" to Christ we become born again, the seed was planted, a new person is born and the cord attached to the old life is broken. (Resembles birth of a baby) So, they have to take stock and pray together, so that the Holy Spirit will reveal to them why it happen, what to do next. And as we become born again, tell it to the world thru as ceremony. In Christ Borgain (Some people went thru all the right steps, but still the word marriage is only a word and legal document) No one can throw stones, unless they are sinless, Jesus didn't even considered to judge that women brought to Him and the Jews, but only told her sin no more. |

35 | inmorality also if the couple will marry | Eph 5:31 | borgain | 63875
Hi teragram123 You wrote - No wonder our nation is in such a mess... the divorce rate among Christians now out ranks that of the unbelievers. If you are a Christian, how can you give such ungodly advise? This is not advise it is something so many people do with out knowing what they do. It looks like the Holy Spirit is the judge here. Sleeping around as an unbeliever or believer is the same thing. Look at Jesus and the samaritan woman in John 4:16-18. 16Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here." 17The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have well said, "I have no husband,' 18for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly." 36 | next step..? | Eph 5:31 | borgain | 63898
Hi Q: Waiting for the ceremony It is also important to remember what nearly happend to Abram, when he tried for his reasons NOT to reveal to the Egiptians that Sarai was his wife. (Gen 12:10-20) We can not hide behind something, thinking that the Lord does not see our real intensions. As baptism is an "outward witness" of what happened inside, the same needs to happen in this case. The following scriptures talks about divorce and will hopefully answer your other question. Mal 2:16 For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one's garment with violence," Says the LORD of hosts. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously." Mat 19 1 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, that He departed from Galilee and came to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. 2And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there. 3The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?" 4And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made[1] them at the beginning "made them male and female,'[2] 5and said, "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?[3] 6So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate." 7They said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?" 8He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but FROM THE BEGINNING it was NOT so. 9And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality,[4] and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery." 10His disciples said to Him, "If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to marry." This is a very difficult issue, and the best is to pray about it, and for them. Hope this helps. Borgain |

37 | CAN WOMEN BE CHURCH LEADERS?? | 1 Tim 2:12 | borgain | 36243
Yes. Don't let man tell you what to do but the Holy Spirit. It is not about status but to be a servant. God uses anybody that's willing and available. If you look at the normal workings at/in a church some women are in the praise and worship team and LEADS the people into praise and worship (and are not quiet at all). There are also a lot of women as 'Sunday school' teachers, teaching boys and girls. Then there are the sisters unions, etc. where they are leaders. |

38 | Story to go with lesson | James 1:22 | borgain | 51470
Hi Welcome to the forum. The book of James is what you are looking for. James 1 : 22 - 25 22But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. James 2: 14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? And I'm sure there will be a lot of replies or portions in the forum on the topics, if you use the search facility (on the Right) |
