AMPLIFIED 2015 | Luke 18:13 "But the tax collector, standing at a distance, would not even raise his eyes toward heaven, but was striking his chest [in humility and repentance], saying, 'God, be merciful and gracious to me, the [especially wicked] sinner [that I am]!' |
Bible Question: Can anyone tell me where in the Bible I could find (Does God hear a sinners prayer or Does Jesus mediate this sinners prayer to God for us once we except christ? |
Bible Answer: Hi Welcome to the forum. Luke 18:9-14 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, "God, I thank You that I am not like other men--extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.' And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, "God, be merciful to me a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Yes, God do hear a sinners prayer when he repents of his sin and believe that Jesus came to set him/her free and confess it. Jesus came for the lost (Mat 9:13). As easy as ABC A for Admitting he is a sinner, B for Believing that Jesus came to set us free and C for Confessing it. Act 3:19,20 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. Thus a father will always hear to his children. Eph 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. John 9:31 Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. So if a sinner repents God wil hear him. Hope this helps |
