Bible Question (short): Looking for the verse on simple prayer! |
Question (full): Looking for the verse on simple prayer! I remember hearing of a story in the New Testament. Jesus -I'm not sure it was Jesus- was in the Temple, and a man got up in front and gave a long, flowery prayer obviously intended to show off. Then in the back a man -boy?- cried out something simple such as "God help me for I'm a sinner" or something like that. Jesus pointed at the man in back and stated God surely heard that man's prayer because it was sincere and sent directly to God. I've searched for a couple hours now and can't find the verse. Can anyone help me? TIA! Yours in Christ, Ken |
