Bible Question:
Idea for a Lesson: First off, I would like to say this is my first post here, since I just joined about a min ago!! So Hello everyone. I am trying to prepare a lesson on Getting out of the "Dead Christian" mode. In other words, people who are christians who have calls on their lives, but basically sit by the wayside. I need a story in the bible, Old or New testament, that would go along good with this lesson. I am going to be touching of Faith quite a bit, cause you cant be talking about overcoming death without mentioning faith!! Thanks, PC |
Bible Answer: Hi Welcome to the forum. The book of James is what you are looking for. James 1 : 22 - 25 22But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. James 2: 14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? And I'm sure there will be a lot of replies or portions in the forum on the topics, if you use the search facility (on the Right) |
