21 | Why is there suffering? | Job | Rom831 | 28872
Because of the fall. God created a perfect world that became a broken one through the original sin. Remembering how much simpler and how much closer to perfection Adam and Eve were, look at how the suffering increased in there lives and how the world changed in Genesis 3:16-19. The further we get from perfection, the more sin there is in the world, the more suffering there is. This will cumulate with the events of Revelation. Nasty indeed! But all will be set right afterwards, when we are finally with Jesus. Bless...ArtS |

22 | Explain million year old dinosaurs. | Job | Rom831 | 28884
If it was millions of years, please then explain how death did not enter the world until Adam sinned (RO 5:12) yet animals would have had to die in those millions of years. And heve you actually read about behemouth? Tail like a cedar, bones of bronze and iron, not even the raging Jordan can move him, no one can capture him, his nose cannot be pierced by a barb, you cant spear him, capture him for trade, he is so fierce no one dare rouse him, has an outer armor, fierce teeth, has scales that cannot be seperated, fire from his mouth, smoke from his nose, When he raises himself up the mighty fear, sword nor spear can beat him, iron is like straw to him, bronze as rotten wood, the sea like a jar of ointment, he makes an enormous wake in water as he walks, etc. A hippo??? hehe Bless...ArtS |

23 | Is NASB the "most literal" in Ps. 2:12? | Ps 2:12 | Rom831 | 28806
There is a good chart of literal verses paraphrase versions at http://www.zondervanbibles.com/translations.htm . The NASB is very literal, but not totally. The Interlinear is well above it in the chart. Bless...ArtS |

25 | matthew 12-43 | Matthew | Rom831 | 29341
It is talking about when a demon is driven out, that it will try to reenter the host. In fact, it will go out and gather other spirits to try to possess the person as well. When these spirits return, if they find the "house", which is the person, "swept out and tidy", these spirits will again, "move in." But if they return, and the person is instead filled with the Holy Spirit, they won't be able "to move in." Bless...ArtS |

26 | Who are these people thatJesus condemns? | Matt 7:22 | Rom831 | 28951
Did you ever see the movie "A Leap of Faith" with Steve Martin. He plays a scam artist who goes to towns setting up revivals and preaching. The female costar calls him on it and he replies, something like "What's the difference as long as I get the job done?" I think this is what Jesus is referring to. Many people claim to be Christians, claim to love and accpt Jesus, but only do so outwardly, not in their hearts. An athiest can speak the words "I believe in Jesus", but that doesn't mean they do. It is also possible to believe in a false Jesus. I have heard those who claim to believe in Jesus but don't believe He was raised, or don't believe He was the Son of God, or perfect, etc. These people believe in something they call Jesus, but its not Him. 27 | Questions about blessing others | Matt 10:13 | Rom831 | 28808
When do you bless and when is it time to remove your blessing? I am new here. I usually post on another board that has really been over run. One individule in particular, I feel, is either evil or has an evil spirit. As he constantly mocks for the rape and murder of my daughter (yes I know its just to get to me, bu evil that comes out the mouth comes from the heart). As you can see below, I always sign my posts with a quick "bless". My question is based on these two passages: Luke 6:28 "bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." Matthew 10: 13 "If the house is worthy, give it your blessing of peace. But if it is not worthy, take back your blessing of peace. 14 "Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet." So, WWJD??? Continue to offer prayers and blessings for him, or remove the blessing and dust my feet? Bless...ArtS P.S. Usually my only reply to him is a cut and paste as to his heart and why I won't converse with him. But even with the cut and paste, my question still remains... |

28 | Questions about blessing others - take 2 | Matt 10:13 | Rom831 | 28963
When do you bless and when is it time to remove your blessing? I am new here and trying this a 2nd time. I usually post on another board that has really been over run. One individule in particular, I feel, is either evil or has an evil spirit. As he constantly mocks for the rape and murder of my daughter (yes I know its just to get to me, bu evil that comes out the mouth comes from the heart). The reason this is my 2nd attempt is he followed me here and flooded my 1st attempt to get it disabled... As you can see below, I always sign my posts with a quick "bless". My question is based on these two passages: Luke 6:28 "bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." Matthew 10: 13 "If the house is worthy, give it your blessing of peace. 29 | Questions about blessing others - take 2 | Matt 10:13 | Rom831 | 28966
Thanks for the reply. Maybe I should have clarified a little better. Nothing has happened to my daughter. He just thinks its funny to talk about it happening. Trying to get me to lash out. Anyway... I understand what you are saying, but what then is menat buy the Mat 10:13 verse that if they are unworthy, to take back your blessing and brush their dust off your sandals? That's from Jesus Himself... Bless...ArtS |

30 | Questions about blessing others - take 2 | Matt 10:13 | Rom831 | 28968
Eh, he's just clakning his gong. In the end, that's all evil can do. Besides, he is friends with another poster there and I know that guy is from Amsterdam. So I'm not sure this one is even in the US. As far as the verses, I'm still not sure. Its going to take more praying on I guess. Yes, Jesus was speaking to the disciples, but so was He many times and His truth is still, and always will be true. And anyone who spreads His word, is also His disciple. So He is speaking to us too. Much to contimplate... Bless...ArtS |

31 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30129
Look at the Prodigal son. He was a son, turned his back on his father (God) and became lost. He then returned to his father (God) and was again found. He was a child of the father, knew him and was his. He then willfully turned his back, took his inheritance and left. But he finally returned. So he was Alive, then dead, then alive. Luke 15:24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.' And they began to celebrate. Some will say he wasn't saved to begin with, but he WAS a son, not a stranger. And the verse says when he returned, he was alive "again" which means he was alive before. But we see in between, he WAS dead. There are other verses about causing believers to stumble, about churches becoming dead and needing to awake again, about casting those out who fall away until they return. But this to me is the most clear cut. Bless...ArtS |

32 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30304
First, just using common sense, the two brothers were equal, both with an inheritance coming from the father, the father representing God. So the son who left, was a child of God, not a child of Satan. Second, the verse reads "and has come to life again". "Again" means he was alive before. Then, when he tuned is back on God, he became dead. Then, when he came back to God, he was alive "again". Bless...ArtS |

33 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30305
To your points: 1) makes no sense. How can you intrepret this as anything but salvation. The one immediately before talks about a sinner repenting and receiving salvation. The parable itself speaks of a man taking his inheritance from God and squanders it on earth (and isn't our inheritance salvation?). The next one goes on to show what happens when you choose to waste what God gives you, saying you cannot serve these earthly desires and God. In the parable, the son was alive, dead, then alive again. He had an inheritance that was his, from God. Only saved people have this. 2) Is it possible for us to restore him? No. Is it possible for him to restore himself? no. Is it possible for God to restore him? Matt 19:26 And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Wit God, ALL things are possible. 3) Parables are he words of Jesus. That's good enough for me. 4) It doesn't say he stopped being a son, it says he became lost and dead. Either this happened when he turned from God, or Jesus left something out. I tend to believe He didn't. When did he regain his salvation? When he returned to God (we see this by the celebration that occurred as we are told in the parable prior to it would take place when someone is saved). Bless...ArtS |

34 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30313
How does that make sense? The "father" told the grumbling son tat he had always been with Him. Is this true about the pharasies? Seems to me Jesus spoke of them harshly as vipers and such. Doesn't sound like someone who has always been near and dear to God. Bless...ArtS |

35 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30314
Honestly, I know very little about Calvin and honestly don't have much desire to find out. I have not derived my belifes from him or any other preacher. Just based on making what I see to be to only conclusion possible based on the entire Bible. I had a friend on another board that would get a kick out of you calling my ideas Calvanistic though. He thinks I'm as armenian as they come. Me? I don't do labels. Bless...ArtS |

36 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30315
But the son previously had life, the was dead, and was alive again. So it wasn't just someone lost then found. And it doens't make sense that it was Jews/Gentiles because He doesn't use any of His comon analogies for them. Also, neither case fits the gentiles. They weren't always saved, neither were they saved, lost, and saved. And why would it be the Jews? What point would He have been trying to make? They were God's chosen, lost, then came back? No need for a parable there, that's not a lesson, just history. I agree there are other places to prove this as well. I just cant see any other reasonable or useful intrepretation of this passage. Bless...artS |

37 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30330
Oh, I have been called lots of things too. But the only one I claim is "Christian". (Ok, I actually like "follower of the way" too - Acts 22:4-NIV)
38 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30341
But see, the difference is that you are misrepresenting the point of the parable. That parable talks about ask and you shall recieve, knock and the door will be open. It is made clear that if we do this, God WILL respond. So your generalization goes against that parable. The one I brought up does no such thing. You are simply ignoring part of what Jesus said in order to maintain your belife. Bless...ArtS |

39 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30347
It fits in the EXACT way the other two parables fit in. All three speak about saving the lost - the coin, the sheep, the son. You are picking on this one parable and ignoring the other two that address the same thing. They are all talking about saving the lost. This one just talks about that were saved, the lost then saved "again". Hebrews is easy. Can that person renew themselves? No. Can we renew them? No. Can God? Yes: Matt 19:26 And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Look at those verses again though. It says in the case of those who HAVE BEEN partakers of the Holy Spirit and THEN have fallen away. It clearly says they CAN fall away. And no, we can't get them back, only God can. Bless...ArtS |
