24 | Who created evil? | Gen 3:1 | Ngop | 92199
Brother Radioman2, Thank you. I had a wrong approach that is why I can't understand. This is what made it clear" "It is helpful, I think, to understand that sin is not itself a thing created. Sin is neither substance, being, spirit, nor matter. So it is technically not proper to think of sin as something that was created. Sin is simply a want of moral perfection in a fallen creature." I have read the posts under "evil" as suggested by Searcher56. I think most of those asking questions have the same approach of looking at sin the way I did. Please correct me if I am wrong. If Eve did make the right choice, there was no sin consequently no evil. The wrong choice remains in the serpent's mouth, never to become a sin. And the same goes to Lucifer when he made the wrong choice. Funny, I thought I knew the Bible. God Bless Ngop |

25 | Who created evil? | Gen 3:1 | Ngop | 92081
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?" Did God made a mistake in creating the serpent? Does evil exists even before creation? If not, who put evil thought to the serpent? When did Lucifer fall from grace? Was it before or after the creation of earth ? Ngop |

27 | Biblical basis : Mind, body, spirit? | Matt 22:37 | Ngop | 92078
Hi Tim. Thanks for the reply. These are the ones bothering me: 1. People say, as a man, we are composed of mind, body and soul. Is this biblical? 2. What is soul, what is spirit, what is mind. When a person dies, which goes to hell or heaven? 3. In Gen. 2 : 7 " Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. What is this "breath of life"? Is it Spirit or Soul,or Life or Mind? If it is one of the above, then man is composed of only two things i.e. body and spirit or soul or life or mind? Thanks in advance, Tim God bless, Ngop |

28 | homosexual activity acceptance by church | Lev 20:13 | Ngop | 92075
What the Bible says about homosexuality is very clear. It is not even debatable. "Leviticus 20:13 'If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death." It is actually the same as Adultery. We all know it is a sin but still lots of people practice it. The difference between the two is the latter is a common practice that is why not many people put too much attention to it anymore. But surely, God sees everything and is hurting. Ngop |

29 | What is happening here? | 1 John 3:9 | Ngop | 91985
Brother Radioman2, You got it right. I was referring to the abusive, irresponsible postings coming out lately. It is very ironic. We call ourselves Christians and yet our forum has this exchange. Like what you said, there is nothing we can do. Well, as usual, we just have to pray for the return of the forum back to a more Christian like attitude. Your brother in Christ, Ngop |

30 | What does "being a homosexual" mean? | 1 John 3:9 | Ngop | 91904
Brother Radioman2, You said "No, it is not possible for a homosexual to carry out God's will". I believe what you meant was because of the committed homosexual sins, a person will not be able to carry out God's will. My point is aren't all sins, homosexual or not make a person not able to carry out God's will? Will this make all of us not possible to be Christians? Like what you did, I have to put this note, my intention is pure i.e. to gain knowledge and have a healthy exchange of ideas and definitely not to attack or insult or ridicule anybody. I used to get into this forum on and off without any fear. I wish I am just being paranoid. If I am not, can't you and other senior members of this forum do something about what is happening. God Bless, Ngop |

33 | brother john | 1 Cor 3:16 | Ngop | 91033
Brother Hank, I fully agree with the latter part of your note. A Christian should do good to bear witness of his faith. And of course not to be a stumbling rock to fellow believers. But aren't all these depend on the state of mind. The present ongoing campaign against smoking is indeed making smoking a stumbling rock and a speck of sawdust in a smoker's eye. A making of a culture is in progress i.e. smoking is bad. I fully agree but is it only smoking? Mcdonalds, Coke, body piercing, diet pills, libido pills, the list goes on. So one will ask, where will this stop? Where are we going to set the line between community acceptance and sin? Missing a Mass on the day of Mother Mary's Ascension used to be a sin when I was a Catholic. It is a day of obligation for the Catholic community. It is not a sin to me anymore. My real opinion on this matter is God gave us freedom but because of our desire to make this world better, we tend to create rules to restrict ourselves from doing bad things. In the end, we become prisoners of our own doing. God Bless Ngop |

34 | brother john | 1 Cor 3:16 | Ngop | 91019
Let me quote "Some do say that "we are left with our own understanding and interpretation of the Word." If it is truly by the Holy Spirit, it is not "our" interpretation. It is that of the Holy Spirit." I say " it is still "my" interpretation but guided by the Holy Spirit as I have the choice of accepting or rejecting the guidance provided to me. And it is called " Freewill "". This forum where different interpretations come around proves that the Holy Spirit respects our Freewill. God Bless Ngop |

35 | brother john | 1 Cor 3:16 | Ngop | 90903
Brother George, I think you are generalizing too much. I never heard of anybody addicted to shopping. If ever there is somebody who shops daily, I believe it is more of a hobby than addiction. And if a person can do such a hobby, I would say the person is well blessed. Your support verse :" If we sin willfully after that we received the knowledge of truth... " is the essence of the discussion! What is the truth? Is smoking a sin? To you, it is yes, But is it the truth? We all know, smoking was never mentioned in the Bible. And because of that, we are left with our own understanding and interpretation of the Word as guided by the Holy Spirit God Bless, Ngop |

36 | where does sickness come from | Bible general Archive 1 | Ngop | 81317
Biblehappy, Greetings! Sickness is part of sufferings. And there are three kinds of sufferings. First is what your fiance was referring to. Romans 8:13. The suffering brought about by a wrong choice ( abuse of freewill ) e.g If one does not eat, then one gets sick. Second is the suffering you were referring to. 1 Peter 4:12-19. This is normally called the " Cross ". To suffer for others. e.g. The missionaries who suffer while serving and spreading the Gospel to the ends of earth. And the third is God's will. 1 Peter 6-7. This suffering is part of God's big plan for us. i.e. Children getting minor infections to build up their natural resistance they will need when they grow up and at the same time strengthening their parents faith. I pray that this helps. In Christ Jesus, Ngop |

38 | Not by works or Partly by works? | Rom 6:3 | Ngop | 80736
Brother Sniper, Why did Jesus has to suffer and die in the cross for us if we can save ourselves through our own work? Or if we can really "assist" Jesus in our salvation, maybe the thorns on His head should be minus one, or the nail on His left hand be taken out , or maybe He should have been crucified with His clothes on to diminish a little bit the shame? In Christ Jesus Ngop |

39 | Inspired by the Holy Spirit | 2 Tim 3:16 | Ngop | 80735
Greetings, If we say the Scripture was written thru the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, can we assume that the other writings of the same author ( i.e. John, Peter , Paul etc ) which were not included in the Bible not inspired by the Holy Spirit? In Christ Jesus Ngop |

40 | Bible lied? | Matt 13:55 | Ngop | 80332
Emmaus, This issue has been debated for centuries and never been resolved. I agree with you that to continue will be futile. But the sharing was very educational though. Please disregard my previous note regarding this issue. I sent it before I read your 3-part explanation. If I may ask, are you a Catholic Priest? God bless, Ngop |
