21 | Women Preachers? Yes or No? | NT general Archive 1 | GeorJoy | 94916
Tell me where Christ, Paul or anyone else in Scripture states that a woman (is not) to speak in the church. Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. I cannot say that I personally feel comfortable with a woman as the leader of the church, but I wonder if the Jews didn't feel uncomfortable when they were lead into battle by Deborah. The Law stated in Deu 19:21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. Jesus stated in Mat 5:38 You have heard that it was said, "An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth." Mat 5:39 But I say to you, Do not resist evil. But whoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If you choose to be under the law, so be it. You would be wise to consider though, that you should observe the whole law. And that by the law which you so adamantly cling to, you will be condemned, for the law or the observance thereof has yet to cleanse any of their sins. Personally, I and all (true) believers, (those who have heard and accepted His “WHOLE” Word,) have accepted the fact that the law was imperfect. We have chosen "Grace." Being so adamant concerning the law, perhaps you should consider granting Paul’s wish in Gal 5:17. I like the NIV version in particular where that verse is concerned. “ As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves. George |

Hank, you know as well as I do that this forum could not support a post large enough to thoroughly answer your post, so generally speaking, do you believe that Christ and His "unleavened" word is taught and adheared to in the Church as a whole today? Mine was a strong statement, but ponder it deeply. A simple yes or no will suffice. George |

Let me rephrase my statement. We believers “who are led by the Spirit” are not under the law. Gal 5:18 My apologies. George |

Bless your heart Hank, for I agree nearly completely. I believe though, that we two can agree to almost disagree. There are many Church's and individuals, I am sure you will agree, who profess Christ yet insist on deluting His word with their personal insertions and removals thereof. These are those of whom I speak. I would assume that geography has a lot to do with their numbers. Your Brother in Christ George |

Dear brother, your knowledge has you confused. Forget everything you know about OT Judaism. Read what our Lord said in the NT, then apply only what "He referred to" from your previous learning’s. It is so simple, yet we are so accustomed to complexity that we fail to comprehend the simplicity of such a statement as what Christ said pertaining to divorce. This is where confusion and dissention comes in between Christians. We however, I am sure can agree to disagree. In loving mutuality. George |

28 | what is an Amen Offering? | NT general Archive 1 | GeorJoy | 100656
Hi justme I feel led to send a heart felt, and loving apology your way. You and I have had our disagreements in this forum, but I feel that we have never disagreed on the ultimate answer; we simply disagreed on the method of delivery. There is no doubt in my mind that we are brothers in Christ. You have your way of witnessing, and likewise I, mine. Mine simply happens to offend you. Please forgive me, for my way offends many. I make no apologies for my way of witnessing; only that it offends you. Many times when I realized I was offending others, I could not for the life of me understand why! Only that I was voicing the Word of truth. I did not, and do not take pleasure in offending my brother. However, there was and is something in me that will allow me to be no other way. Ezekiel 33:1-9, particularly verses 8 and 9 best describe the way I am. Exhorting In Christ George |

29 | Just a thought. What's yours? | NT general Archive 1 | GeorJoy | 102598
"this Forum can be addictive" Yes, most assuredly. It can be, and for many like TV and the internet in general, IT IS. I think we will agree that it is better than the latter. Personally, I come here to share my biblical studies, hopefully to teach and just as hopefully, to learn. Church is many things to many people. "For where ther are two or more gathered in my name, ther I am in the midst of them." If I can make one change , plant one seed, convince one soul of a single truth that our Lord has revealed to me, I will have achieved my goal herein. Though even we do not always agree, a dear brother in the forum reciently told me that an exhorter isn't going to win any popularity contests. It put me in mind of the prophets and how they were often ridiculed. Not that I should make a comparison, but I have prayed for the acceptance of 3 particular gifts most earnestly. Toungs; The interpritation thereof; and for the life of me, I do not know why, prophesy... Reciently I learned of the mental pain that scripture says those gifted with the latter will experience. I can't help but to wonder if I have been blessed with the latter of my prayers already, perhaps many years ago, for my heart constantly bleeds for those herein and all who seek but do not see when it is so often right in front of them. This thought was and is a considerable consolation to me, for I most assuredly am not popular herein, but I am what I am, and through my experience herein, I pray to smooth out the rough and jagged edges of this building stone of the church. By the way. I am NON DEMONATIONAL. Scripture is what I believe in. If I sound Penticostal, Baptist Methodist or whatever, it is due to the fact that no matter the denomination, the majority are based on scripture. God Bless George |

30 | Did Adam and Eve go to heaven? | Gen 2:1 | GeorJoy | 93816
Where does scripture state concerning Adam and Eve that “they were not yet mortal?” Or that “They were not able to have children?” Or that “Because of the Fall, we are blessed with physical bodies?” Where does scripture state that the sinful flesh is anything other than a curse, much less a blessing? How do you or anyone else know “what would have been ours had Adam and Eve remained in the garden?” I see a glimmer of a hint that you may be advocating “Grace,” in which case I would tentatively agree with your note, however your note implies more an agreement with the disobedient act of Adam and Eve. Your statement that “When Adam learned what had happened, he wisely chose to partake also therefore being able to obey the command to multiply,” nullifies any thought of wisdom on your part. I dare not imagine where you gleaned such demented views. Most assuredly, they did not originate in scripture. Please. Turn to The Word. George |

So, you are saying that transgression is not sin. Ok, I now know where you'r coming from. One question though. Is it because you, or he whom you follow was there in the garden that you consider yourself so inlightened? The only "non mortal" in the garden that was ever mentioned in scripture, other than The Living God Himself, was the serpent. Your words most assuredly are not from God. gbennett76, I don't know who you are following, but if they are not teaching and preaching from scripture, they are lieing to you. If you want to believe such lies as you have quoted, there is nothing I or anyone else can say to change your mind. If you want truth, I would strongly suggest you turn to a "BIBLE BELIEVING CHURGH" and start emercing yourself in the LIVING WATER provided by the Holy Scriptures before it is too late and you are given up to a reprobate mind. Reprobate per Mr. W 1 : to condemn strongly as unworthy, unacceptable, or evil 2 : to foreordain to damnation 3 : to refuse to accept : REJECT Your ignorance portrayed by your babblings thus far depicts only a light covering your of mind. It will only get heavier if you continue. If you are in the least concerned with the ultimate condition of your imMORTAL Soul, I would strongly suggest you consider adhearing to the following. 2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2Ti 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.) May the One and Only True God Have mercy on those who are sucked in by those who spout such profane and vain babblings as this note is in response to. George |

IT IS NOT HIS WILL THAT ANYONE SHOULD PERRISH. (GNB) Jer 18:5 Then the LORD said to me, 6 "Don't I have the right to do with you people of Israel what the potter did with the clay? You are in my hands just like clay in the potter's hands. Isa 29:16 They turn everything upside down. Which is more important, the potter or the clay? Can something you have made say, "You didn't make me"? Or can it say, "You don't know what you are doing"? YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO ASK. Isa 45:9 Does a clay pot dare argue with its maker, a pot that is like all the others? Does the clay ask the potter what he is doing? Does the pot complain that its maker has no skill? However, finding the answer you desire may more be a little difficult. I reciently read in a good commentary, the clossest thing I have ever seen to being a good answer to your question. The only problem is that I can't remember what topic I was researching or which commentary ity was. I think it may have been predestination that I was researching. This topic concerns me as much as yours does you. In actuality, they are one in the same. HERE IS YOUR ANSWER... Whether or not you can or will accept it is up to you. GOD KNEW BEFORE HE CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH THAT YOU AND I WOULD BE RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, DOING JUST WHAT WE ARE DOING AT THIS VERY MOMENT. LIKEWISE HE KNEW WHAT YOUR DECISION AND MINE WOULD BE AS TO THE ACCEPTANCE OF HIS SON AND HIS WORD. DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DECISION IS GOING TO BE? If you don't. I would suggest you figure it out. For no one can do it for you... I pray you will understand what has been given me to give you. If you don't, perhaps your time is not yet. Don't let it worry you. Continue your search. Continue to pray. Continue to ask. For our Lord has appointed a time for EVERYTHING. Even ones salvation. IT IS NOT HIS WILL THAT ANYONE SHOULD PERRISH. Praise His loving name! George |

He wasn't attacking you. He was discribing "Man" in general. All the answers ARE in The book. If one sincerely desires them, they will find them. If one is looking for what they will accept as an answer, they will likely not find it. George |

Searching333, Keep on Searching. You are Gods Word proven and come to life. Ask and ye SHALL recieve, "Seek and ye SHALL FIND." I learned early in life that the only dumb question is the one that was not asked. To date, I don't get all my answers either. I often have to simply "go on faith." And, that AIN'T ALWAYS SO SIMPLE. Yet it IS so simple! I complicate my life by not accepting that simple fact... I once read that "if understanding came b4 acceptance, there would be very little that we would accept." Ponder that. Once one has accepted that fact, he has entered the doorway to wisdom and understanding. It is funny though, that if my question is a sincere one, eventually the Lord gives me the answer. Sometimes it's the next time I turn on the radio. Others it is through hard work and study, which gives me a hollow satisfaction, still it is satisfaction. I am most satisfied when He "proves" to me that He knows and provides for me. Am I silly, foolish, lazy, or just just overjoyed that He has even the slightest interest in one such as myself??? I pondered your question in the form of "pre-destination" for 30 years or more. I only reciently ran across the answer. And I wasn't even looking for it! God bless George |

And there are those of which wouldn't know the truth if it hit them in the face. Others whose time is not yet. This is no cause for disagreement. I see no mystery in what was said. My response was biblically correct. If it is not ones time, let him disagree. That does not make it untrue. George |

38 | Why would God do that? | Gen 2:7 | GeorJoy | 89772
You are correct. "Hell was not originally created for man." So says the word. It was intended for Satan and his rebellious angelic followers. Which would you consider worse; a rebellious angel, or an individual who continues to rebell by not accepting the word of the King, (and, or) the fact that He sent his ONLY Son to pay the price for our evil deeds? We are all siners! Anyone who says he is not, is a LIAR AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM! He only decieves himself. We are saved by the GRACE of God, and that is by nothing we have in any way earned. For ALL HAVE SINED AND COME SHORT OF THR GLORY OF GOD. In this complicated environment in which we live, some simply can not comprehend the utter simplicity of salvation. What difference does it make what one believes? NONE!!!! As long as one believes in what I just stated; knows and admits in his heart that he is desirving of death and eternal damnation and confess', and asks for forgiveness; he or she "IS SAVED." However, as some would have you to think, this is not all there is to it .... Christian life is not as easy as one might hope. It was never said that it would be. It was said though that the old man would be passed away and all things would become new. "BY THE RENEWING OF THE MIND." This is not something that just happens! One must Live the Life once saved. Read Pauls letter to the Galations. Then read it a second time. It's a short book. He had preached the Gospel to them, but there were those who wanted to add to that Gospel. Find out what he said about those who wanted to add to what he had said. George |

Acts 5:4 is totally out of context with what my question. Key words in your note; "when left to themselves" So says scripture, but yours is more a statement than an answer. To lie, when good or a lack of evil will result, or not to lie? What of what "might" have happened to the infant Moses were it not for the lies of the midwives? And they were thereafter blessed! There is a biblical answer "which the Spirit will have provided." Geo |
