161 | HELP ME PLEASE...I am not content! | Rom 12:1 | GeorJoy | 102378
Pro 17:10 I will not attempt delivery of your stripes, nor do I see any reproof coming from your dirrection, dear soul; only what presents itself as a lack of scriptural learning; or at the very least, a lack of the application thereof, for you are using the "hunt and peck" method of delivering scripture. You need to consider the bible as "a whole" before attempting deliverance of the Word. 2Ti 2:15 I will not argue with you either. Please consider Ecc 10:12 Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. I will conclude all correspondence with you stating that, herein I have followed the instruction given in Pro 26:5 Lovingly EXHORTING In Christ George |

162 | Open mouth, insert foot | Rom 12:6 | GeorJoy | 99787
Through my biblical studies, I have recently found why I am as I am. In the KJV, Ro:7:6 through 8, Paul lists seven gifts, of which the 4th is “exhortation.” I George AKA GeorJoy, am one who exhorts. Per Merriam Webster; exhortation is defined as follows 1 : an act or instance of exhorting 2 : language intended to incite and encourage. transitive senses : to incite by argument or advice : urge strongly intransitive senses : to give warnings or advice : make urgent appeals –exhorter noun My years have taught me more than a little about human nature. What I have yet to understand where human nature is concerned, is why it is that many, and at times “most” choose to bring out the first of the transitive senses of my gift? At times I catch myself wanting to argue a point on which I have nothing other than hearsay on which to base my argument. 99.875 percent of the time, I can catch myself and shut my mouth before I put my foot in it. Why is it that there are many who would rather put both feet in their mouth and then continue arguing, rather than keep it shut in the first place? Or at the very least, shut up when the realization hits them that they are wrong. One can often see this realization in their expression, but they go on and on. One knows they are not as stupid as they portray… Or are they. Any biblically based thoughts and passages on this matter will be appreciated. George |

I am only beginning in my formal studies. I have barely scratched the surface, yet this one discovery was a pleasing surprise and has truly been an eye opener, for I always considered it (exhortation,) more of a curse than a blessing. Yet, even as I have often stated in this forum, “the Lord gave me my big mouth, then He gave me His word.” There is no doubt that He will now use my big mouth to spread His word. I really don’t feel that it is my calling to be a pastor teacher. Perhaps a teacher, perhaps something else, who other than He knows, but in the end; whatever the Lord intends me to do, I want to be fully prepared to do it as none other could… Makarios, I have read many of your posts. You, among a select few in this forum have won my total respect and admiration. I sincerely appreciate your comments, and I thank God for those such as yourself and all who are Gods gifts to the body. God Bless George |

164 | What is the account we will give? | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89305
Your answer can be found in the parable of the Ten Talents. Mat 25:14 to 30. We will give account for what we do with what we have been given. George |

165 | Judgement or Discernment? | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89340
So true. Thank you EdB. It is refreshing to see that there is at least one who has responded thus far who is "spiritually receptive." Namely yourself. I would add that when people don't like the answer one gives, not only do they accuse you, but they continue to ask till they receive the answer they desire, whis is more often than not, contrary to the word of God. LORD HAVE MERCY on them, and giver of the "desired" answer... For even though they may have recieved instructions contrary to Gods word, THEY WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. But much more so will the giver. " But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.Mat 18:6 George |

166 | Judgement or Discernment? | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89350
I know that our Lord foretold of those of whom you speak. That seeing, they would not see and hearing, they would not hear. My heart is so heavy for them, but they will not listen. Time and time Israel forsook God. Time and time again, they repented. Time and time again, God forgave them. So it is today. But time is not on our side. We, the individual are not as the generations of a Nation. As a flower withers, so do we. As a raging fire through a forest hardens an old tree stump each time it passes, so does the word of God to our heart each time it passes through unaccepted. Thanks EdB George |

167 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89418
This is MEAT and NOT intended for those on milk. Is not sin a "human nature thing?" Does not man create the culture around him? As for those who "will not seek truth for themselves," I have only pity, and would shake the dust from my feet where they are concerned. As for the many who have not; They have not because they ask not; They ask not because of either Stupidity, Lazyness or Ignorance; All of which can be overcome, and none of which will be excusable in the day of judgement. Is it not the adults place to properly train up the children? If one is more concerned with the feelings of others and "Political correctness" than presenting the word in its virgin form, .... All I can say is that one can't please Man AND God. One has to choose to please one or the other. George |

Thanks for your input Hank. So true. So true. ------ Where the Word is concerned, NOT "Doing oneselves an injustice" is just my point. ------ But if one refuses the initiative; other than hearing the originator, he is as likely as not to get a watered down or poluted version. J. Vernon McGee once said that "it is all right for one to graze in others pastures, but one should always give his own milk." I hope we're on the same track. George |

Justme I just finished reading your user info. I admire and applaud your activity. My prayers will be with you and yours concerning your ailment and your ministries. I pray our Lord judges you more mercifully than you have me. By the way, I haven't CALLED Christians or anyone else stupid or lazy herein. I challenge you or anyone else to prove otherwise. If I did, its here with my signature. If not... Well I wouldn't expect an appology. Just a brotherly Thank you would be more than expected. In case it evaded your notice, I only asked the question "Are you stupid?" and "Or are you simply Lazy?" I labeled the post "Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stake," and in my response to MotherSuperior, I corrected the "yous" with "we's. I should wonder why my post would hurt anyone quiet so bad as it has yourself. Your insistance on continuing your arguing is defeating the purpose. With all due respect to you and your thoughts, my answers to your accusations and insinuations will thus be herewith ceased, May God bless, protect, watch over and be with you and yours. Respectfully George |

Thanks for the info Ed I'm just starting to get used to the forum, and I must say, it is more than a little confising. Or perhaps I'm just getting old (which I am proud of, cuz everyone don't have that opporitunity.) Ed, concerning your metting with the room full of pastors; am I so wrong when it makes me seeth with anger when I hear of such atrocious words coming from the mouth someone, in particular a man of God, (I want to say "a (So called) man of God,) one who is intrusted with His living word? Ed "or a reprobate mine." Perhaps you should change your screen name to one a little more discriptive of your gift. Once again, you have touched on one of the points of my original post. For some reason, I hear a little voice within saying that there are those who will read these posts who will say; "Are these guys crazy!? What are they talking about!?" Already there is a spirit of argument herein, who would argue, yet in its arguing it says precisely what it argues against. "Those who see (or read,) but do not see." "Those who hear (or read,) but do not hear." George |

Prasie The Lord! Hank, I'd have to say that this statement proves without a doubt which side of the fine line between judgement and discernment you are on. However, you may now be open to being branded judgemental and degrading the need and usefulness of seminaries. THanks for your comment, and God Bless George |

Thanks Hank Without a doubt, we are headed in the same direction. Some get to their destination by walking, others run, still others may go by bicycle, car, plane or train. (I want a big BUS, so I can take as many with me as I can. I want them on the fenders, the roof and hood.) Though our means may differ, our goal is the same. When Christian paths collide, maturity in Christ will clear the traffic jam. Having originated this post, I have truly learned a lesson. Although I would never intentionally point a finger at anyone (Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. :2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged ,) I often have a hard time conveying the knowledge and messages I have gleaned without stepping on toes and appearing overly authoritative. However, I contend that my authority is the WORD OF GOD. I am not the originator. I am simply a messenger. I will not take from or add to what the originator has sent. And… On top of this thorn, I tend to talk in parables. I once considered these two traits as faults, or thorns. I am no longer sure that they are either. As I quoted somewhere in this thread, I once read, “a parable shows the (spiritual) responsiveness of the hearer.) This saying has helped me greatly. God Bless you and yours George |

Ed I'm a Household Appliance repair Techcition by trade. I have had a business of my own in the Lakeland - Plant City area for nearly 10 years now. I am in the process of closing my business currently and have prospects of servicing the Tampa Bay Area again. With the irons I currently have in the fire, I'm not sure what I will do. Look me up in the phone book. My business is listed under "Appliances" as Professional Appliance Repair in PC and Lkl. I don't have a Tampa add currently, (The costs are devistating,) but I do have big adds in Plant City and Lakeland. Thechically I live in H'boro County, but I have a Polk Co address cuz I'm in an ares that was originally addressed in Polk even though it is in H'bo. If you get my ans mach, leave a msg and I will return your call as promptly as possiable. It's odd but somehow I felt that you were in my area, in more than one aspect. George |

OK... LORD HAVE MERCY! Including my responces to the responders. I have counted 42 responses to my original question. Has anyone noticed that in the end, each of us have said the same thing. Even though we may not realize or admit it? Lets all agree to disagree. In the end, we all seem to agree anyway. I think this thread has come to the end of it's usefulness. Unless I have misread something somewhere, to the person we have all said the same things, only in diverse ways... George |

Ok. I hadn't thought of it that way. And I hadn't read between Eds lines (at least, that's the phrase I like use.) Sort of puts me in mind of the term "Scaired Stupid." Why do such words as stupid and ignorant always put people, even Christians on the defense? Even when such words aren't directed at them? Ignorance is not an excuse, but who is not ignorant to one degree or another concerning one or another matter? Stupidity is a different story though. In my humble opinion, it is one who was born with the handicap or simply loves ignorance. George |
