21 | Satan can't read minds | Jeremiah | tremere123@comcast.net | 67065
Ya know, I have heard that before and I cannot find any scripture to back it up but I believe it's true because only God can read our hearts...I feel that Satan can only read our body language...he is a mere fallen angel who, it seems, only has power when God wants to use him to test us like in Job...also Satan and/or the "Sons of Disobedience" are mentioned as being only mindful of worldly things and not of Godly things...which, to me, means Satan or demons are excellent at watching us to see if we are weak or vulnerable...they are excellent at reading us in a human sense, like psychiatrists but not as God can...!
22 | What is the significance of the wheels? | Ezek 10:9 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67055
I have been trying to find a drawing or any artwork depicting Ezekiel's vision and have even tried to draw it myself...may do a painting of it later...as far as the wheels, my only theory, thus far, is that a ring represents forever...it has no beginning and no end...and in Ezekiel's vision it was a wheel within a wheel...if you were to seperate those wheels...place one on top of the other you'd form the number 8 which is a symbol for eternity...but I think what is most important about the wheels is that Ezekiel said that the Spirit of the Creature was in them...also, the rims of the wheels were high and had eyes...maybe the wheels are the eyes of God upon us...There are many places in bible where something is going to and fro and if you have a wheel within a wheel you can, not only, go to and fro but you can also ascend and descend!!...As you can see, I'm still working on this myself! Just thought I'd share my ideas with you!
23 | Does God agree with people suing others? | Matt 5:40 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67726
Personally, I feel that it depends on if the suit is moral or immoral...if you sue McDonalds for spilling hot coffee on your lap or for your child being overweight, how moral are you being by not being acountable for your own actions? On the other hand, if you sue an institution for not allowing you or others to have and/or practice their constitutional rights (say...freedom of religion) then maybe you are taking a stand for liberties that are moral and just and would be in God's good graces for helping or defending His people. I don't know if there is anything specific in the Bible about lawsuits and I do know that God says "Vengence is Mine" So you could make the argument that a lawsuit is a way to get redemption instead of leaving vengence or punishment to God...However, we are also taught to obey man's law...and I believe as God hardened Pharoah's heart to do His Own Will that He will also do work for His Own Will in a court of law!
24 | What does this verse mean? | Matt 6:7 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67064
If your prayers are repitious they are probably insincere...this means be sincere and have a personal relationship with God...speak from your heart don't just recite prayer over and over, make sense!?
25 | Was Jonah really swallowed by a fish? | Matt 12:40 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67742
Is the Bible the Truth? I think you need to figure out if you believe that the Bible is the Truth then ask yourself that question....as for me, I believe God can do anyhing...Think about it!
26 | biblical? not tostudy in anotherchurch | John | tremere123@comcast.net | 67058
Personally, I believe, and the bible says, that our bodies are the temple of God...so I don't think it matters what church you worship God in as long as you do! God will put your brother where He wants to! God loves your brother more than you do so let God do His work and don't worry about it,k?!
27 | Where is Jesus called "...the God"? | John 1:1 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67725
All I can tell you is that Jesus was God in the flesh. This fact is in the Bible and the Bible is True! I recommend that whenever in doubt of the Bible or it's translation to cross-reference with other Bibles...also, never go on just one verse or chapter but gather evidence based on what the Bible says about a subject throughout the whole Book!
28 | Is John 6:66 the answer to 666 riddle? | John 6:66 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67062
Very interesting! I agree with your theory...in Revelation 13:18 it says that the number of the beast is the number of a man and also, in Rev. 21:17 it gives the measurement of a wall as 144 cubits according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel...I figured the cubits to feet are 216 feet...and if you multiply 6 X 6 X 6 you also get 216.....?! So the measurement or number of the beast is the same as the number of an angel and both are the number of a man...meaning we can be one or the other or both!!!
29 | The Father have authority over The Son? | John 13:16 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67735
I agree...in any family, as in nature, there must be order or structure....Jesus said I can do nothing unless it is My Father's will...something along those lines...and in many verses He described how He is nothing without the Father...He said you cannot know the Father unless you know the Son...I look at it this way Jesus is God's fruit...Jesus is God's Work as an example...or Witness...if you believe someone is saved, you believe it because of their works (how they live/what kind of person they are) so therefore you believe they are saved...if we don't believe God's work or testimony...that is (Jesus) we cannot believe in God who did or created the work (Jesus)...Jesus is the light....God's light...as parents our fruit is not only our works but is our children...do we not create who they are and what they become...if a child is a criminal who do you look to punish or question? The parents! So you believe the parents are as good or as bad as their children are...so it is with Jesus and God!
30 | What does the bible say about equality o | Rom 6:23 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67732
I'm pretty sure it's in the New Testament...sorry I can't, at the moment, narrow it down but do note that there is a sin leading to death...a sin that is unforgivable...search this out!
31 | Is the Old Testament obsolete? | Rom 7:12 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67712
I look at it this way...we were given the 10 commandments in the Old Testament. In the New Testament their was an "addendum" made called the New Covenant (Jesus)...an addendum is an "addition to"...it does not erase the original but rather adds to it...when Jesus says "I give you a new commandment..." he means something new to us not something to replace the old...and, really, what would it mean if you only obeyed the commandements in the New Testament but broke the Old Testament commandments...you would love your neighbor as yourself then making it okay to kill a man!?? I think we need and were given both the Old and New Testaments for a reason...also, God didn't have the 10 commandments written in sand...they were carved in stone by God Himself...usually when we say "carved in stone" we mean forever! I think God meant forever as well!
32 | Is God's will prosperity/healing always? | Rom 8:28 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67717
Consider that as a Christian, you are God's servant...actually, Christian or not...we are all God's servant...but if you proclaim Jesus Christ you are enlisted into God's Army...so one can only imagine that God would want you to be as strong as you can be...not so much in prosperity or health in a man's sense but prosperity and health in a spiritual sense...you are His soldier afterall...there is scripture to support this!
33 | "to each a measure of faith" Means?? | Rom 12:3 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67740
He may have given you more faith the Joe Smith down the block...He gave a different amount to each of us of faith amongst other gifts....some can prophecy, some can speak in tongues, some can teach...and some need more help and work then others...I believe the point in telling us this is so that we won't judge those who have less spiritual gifts and, more importantly, not to judge ourselves too harshly with regards to our own shortcomings...because God gave to each of us as He saw fit to...and he will bring up the small and bring low the high...He will create the balance through Judgement!
34 | god owes us salvation by our works? | Eph 2:10 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67731
Can I just say that God does not "owe" anything to anybody rather it is through His Grace and Mercy that we have breath! Also, works without faith is dead and faith without works is dead...search the Scriptures on that, k!?
35 | No one should have to steal a Bible | Eph 5:5 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67711
I'm not sure I truly understand how you got "stealing the bible" out of that verse...but it seems to me that this is referring to people who will fall away from their walk with God or from righteousness and that the person who caused them to stumble whether by lies or trickery or whatever is in big trouble! I was always taught that a Bible is always given freely...and we know from Scripture that the Word is written in our hearts by God. I do know that some believe that in Tribulation or one of those end periods that the world will have no scripture or that it will be taken away, banished so-to-speak...and that only those who studied or can remember will be able to lead others...but I myself am undecided on that theory...so far!
36 | Mercy can only go so far... right? | Eph 5:5 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67716
The Bible should not have to be stolen and, in my understanding and experience, is meant to be given freely amoungst us...I'm sure we all agree that God has made it clear that it's a sin to steal but...in my opinion, God is probably more angry at those who sell the Bible for profit and at anyone who has not given a Bible freely to one in need then to someone who, for whatever reason, felt the need to steal the Word of God....furthermore, it seems like God would prefer that a person get into the Word by whatever means possible than to not at all...although, I do not condone stealing, I would find it hard to judge a person or condemn them for taking what God has already freely given to us all from the beginning!
37 | 1 Corinthians 2 | 1 Thess 5:23 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67727
It is not the spirit or soul that DOES anything for us rather it is God who gives the spirit and is Maker of the Spirit that gives us Eternal life if we so choose to accept the Gift...just as you were given a body of flesh, you were also given life (spirit/soul) It is hard to describe a spirit or soul just as it is hard to describe God...all we know from Scripture is that God gave us life and God is the Judge of whether or not we inherit eternal Life...As a visual, I imagine God as this huge Spiritual Entity (like a ball of light) that breathed a part of Himself...a smidgen, a whisper of Himself into our fleshly bodies (vessels) so that we can say as He does "I am"...without a spirit would you know that "you are"? Does a cat know that it is? Sure, but not on our level...does a plant? Probably not but because it has no spirit...This requires much thinking and searching but is an intriguing topic...Hope I didn't confuse you more!
38 | What are the qualification for an elder | Titus 1:5 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67733
I think that an elder is someone who is either older than you (usually older is wiser but not always) or someone in authority or someone more versed in the Bible...I consider anyone who is wiser than me whether spiritually or earthly to be an elder of mine...but search the Scripture about the order of things...meaning who comes first the elder or the younger and why or how that happens...just stay humble always no matter how old or young you are!
39 | What are the qualification for an elder | Titus 1:5 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67734
Authority by wisdom whether through age or searched out knowledge! Your mother, your father, anyone older (but not older yet dumber) than you, those in authority like cops, judges, government, pastors, priests, teachers....but remember that discernment is necessary to know which elders to follow and which to not follow...even the Antichrist will come as an authority figure and look at the elders like the Saduccees and Pharasies in the Bible who led many astray...It doesn't matter how old or young you are spirually or worldly just pray for discernment!
40 | JESUS GREW IN WISDOM | Heb 5:8 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67061
I think that basically means he grew up in the human sense...yes he was God incarnate...he had to grow because he was in the flesh...I don't think he became to know who he was until he asked Mary why she was looking for him...He said don't you know I'm doing my Father's work?...something to that effect...anyway, I think, as a child and up till then he was just a child in His own mind...remember He is our example...we are all Sons of God...and are to grow in wisdom and stature, right?!
