NASB | Romans 12:3 ¶ For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 12:3 ¶ For by the grace [of God] given to me I say to everyone of you not to think more highly of himself [and of his importance and ability] than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has apportioned to each a degree of faith [and a purpose designed for service]. |
Bible Question: What does "as God hs allotted to each a measure of faith." mean? |
Bible Answer: He may have given you more faith the Joe Smith down the block...He gave a different amount to each of us of faith amongst other gifts....some can prophecy, some can speak in tongues, some can teach...and some need more help and work then others...I believe the point in telling us this is so that we won't judge those who have less spiritual gifts and, more importantly, not to judge ourselves too harshly with regards to our own shortcomings...because God gave to each of us as He saw fit to...and he will bring up the small and bring low the high...He will create the balance through Judgement! |
