27 | What are urim and thummim? | Ex 28:30 | christian7 | 95338
biblesearcher... This is all I could find on thummim and I have heard different views as to what would occur when the Urim and Thummim were used but I would only conclude that whatever it was exactly I know not. I know it helped the Priest in making deccisions from the Lord. I am sure some of the others here in the forum could probably help you more on this. Text: perfection (LXX., "truth;" Vulg., "veritas"), Ex.28:30; Deut.33:8; Judg.1:1;20:18; 1 Sam.14:3,18; 23:9; 2 Sam.21:1. What the "Urim and Thummim" were cannot be determined with any certainty. All we certainly know is that they were a certain divinely-given means by which God imparted, through the high priest, direction and counsel to Israel when these were needed. The method by which this was done can be only a matter of mere conjecture. They were apparently material objects, quite distinct from the breastplate, but something added to it after all the stones had been set in it, something in addition to the breastplate and its jewels. They may have been, as some suppose, two small images, like the teraphim (comp. Judg. 17:5; 18:14, 17, 20; Hos. 3:4), which were kept in the bag of the breastplate, by which, in some unknown way, the high priest could give forth his divinely imparted decision when consulted. They were probably lost at the destruction of the temple by Nebuchadnezzar. They were never seen after the return from captivity. Easton's Bible Dictionary. God Bless |

29 | What happened to the USA??? | Deut 12:8 | christian7 | 96377
Darcy I would say that we are still the most blessed country in the world. We have freedom to go to the House of God which Jesus called the house of prayer each and everytime the doors are opened. We lift up our Lord and Savior and pray for our country and its leaders. They feed my children at school a healthy lunch and teach them reading, writing, and arithmetic. I have a great job that the Lord gave me wich allows me to keep a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, and food on the table. I don't even have to walk to work for I also have a car. I have the right to bear arms and the right to freedom of speach without some dictator having me killed for it. The USA like the rest of the world is coming to a judgement day. The real question is...How will I stand on that day? KJV Ephesians 5:11-12 11. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. God Bless |

31 | "Strong and courageous, its meaning! | Josh 1:6 | christian7 | 52326
in the world we live in lovejoy..... with all the ways we can turn....the LORD wants us to stay true to His ways....this takes strength and courage...stength to say no when everybodyelse is doing it(even though its wrong)confident to know that even though somethings may seem harmless to do ...that if God says not to do it there is some reason behind it...the enemy has a way of trying to get us off to the left or to the right(verse 7)and God knows that so HE wants us to be strong for Him...courage to stand up for whats right when others say its ok just do it...courage to let your friends know that something that they are doing is not right...its not easy to be a leader, following is simple...making choices for God that others will follow takes alot of strength and courage but the LORD says that when we do this that we will be both prosperous and have good success...May our Lord Jesus Christ give you all the strength and courage that you need to do His will in your life Lovejoy...God Bless
32 | Nazirite ... immaculate conception??? | Judg 13:5 | christian7 | 104915
joel k: Samson was the only Nazarite/Nazirite concieved as such and I can find no other. You state that Samuel and John were also but I dont find where you see "Nazirite" around their names. Speaking of John the Baptist. Luke1:15. For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. This verse doesn't include that a rasor shall not come upon His head, as does the verse pertaining to Samuel and Samson. And in Judges 13:15 She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe. We find that it is Samson's mother not eating anything unclean or drinking from the vine. 1 Samuel 1:11. And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no rasor come upon his head. Matthew 2:23. And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene. Not a Nazirite. Which whould be someone of whom you speak as one that takes a vow. Hope this helps God Bless |

oneness holy..... The people were rebeling against God. They seen how the other nations were and they were God's people set apart to be different. But wanted to be like the rest of the world. According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee. KJV Exodus 16:8 8. And Moses said, This shall be, when the Lord shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the Lord heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord. KJV 1 Samuel 8:22 22. And the Lord said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city. God Bless |

35 | 1 Samuel 26 enemy without help | 1 Sam 26:8 | christian7 | 98373
oneness holy If I understand the question right...Abishai wanted to kill Saul and David would not let him. KJV 1 Samuel 26:8-10 8. Then said Abishai to David, God hath delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear even to the earth at once, and I will not smite him the second time. 9. And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the Lord's anointed, and be guiltless? 10. 39 | God didn't make anything the same | Job 38:22 | christian7 | 104135
jgreen: The bible is not specific about every snowflake being different. although it does mention snow in various ways. In Uz, KJV Job 6:16 16. Which are blackish by reason of the ice, and wherein the snow is hid: KJV Job 9:30 30. If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean; KJV Job 37:6 6. For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength. -On Mount Lebanon, KJV Jeremiah 18:14 14. Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which cometh from the rock of the field? or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken? FIGURATIVE: -Of purity, KJV Psalms 51:7 7. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. KJV Isaiah 1:18 18. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. KJV Lamentations 4:7 7. Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire: snow snow, precipitation formed by the sublimation of water vapor into solid crystals at temperatures below freezing. Sublimation resulting in the formation of snow takes place about a dust particle, as in the formation of raindrops. Snowflakes form symmetrical (hexagonal) crystals, sometimes matted together if they descend through air warmer than that of the cloud in which they originated. Apparently, no two snow crystals are alike; they differ from each other in size, lacy structure, and surface markings. hope this is of some help to you. God Bless |

40 | Angels go forth | Psalm | christian7 | 53550
Grace hi...psalms 91:11 says that He shall give his angels charge over you,to keep you in all your ways...I am not saying not to pray for protection like when you go on a trip or something but know this that when God says He gives the angels charge over us in all our ways I just have to believe his word...as far as Zech 1 I dont see where it shows that an angel will not work for you until you speak the word of God or a prayer for an angel to do something for you...Now I didn't hear the message you did but I am sure that thus say the Lord...He shall give his angels charge over you in all you ways...God Bless
