105 | Laying on the hands on head | James 5:14 | christian7 | 55827
eagle11...Is any sick among you?let him call for the elders of the church;and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord(James 5:14)...Heb 6:2 of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.eagle...there is a doctrine for laying on of hands...it starts all the way back in the OT...used for different things...Promotion and Exaltation as in (Num 27:18)and the Lord said unto Moses,Take Joshua the son of Nun,a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hamd upon him...(Duet 34:9)and Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom;for Moses had laid his hands upon him...we find it used for gifting in the NT and for healing...(Tim 4:14)Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by proghecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery...(Luke 4:40)Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto Him;and He laid His hands on every one of them, and healed them...(Luke 13:13)And He laid His hands on her:and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God...(Acts 6:6)Whom they set before the apostles:and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them....as you can see eagle11 it is all through the scriptures...and for different things...I wondered also because alot of time those that have been in church for a long time don't realize that the newbees don't understand whats going on...I even have seen some who did not know why they were laying hands on people they just saw someone else doing it...hope this helps you some...God Bless
106 | Remarriage Continual Adultery? | 1 John 1:8 | christian7 | 96019
dat....I would first like to say that others on this forum may be able to help you more on this but I feel that it is important that you know something. Sin is an act of doing something. You nor I can continually do something. If it were stealing for an example, we could steal something but we can't continually steal. We are under a period of Grace. God forgives us when we ask and turn away from what we are doing wrong in our lives. If you have already remarried you can't undo that. You just have to start from where you are. Lets take your question. To say that the Lord won't forgive you for making a mistake in getting a divorce to someone is a lie. God still forgives. Then you went and married someone else and His word says that Matthew 5:32.But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. Now God is Truth and to do this is commiting Adultery. So you married again. The sin is committed. Now whats done is done and you can't act like it didn't happen, or go back and change anything. Now to divorce again would be going back to where you started to begin with. This is where Grace steps in. We all make mistakes and God is ready to forgive us when we come to Him with a sincere heart and confess our sin. Once we do that He cleanses us from all unrighteousness. The enemy tries to tell you that your domed for hell, but Jesus says come unto me. You have to recieve your forgiveness from the Lord and move on. God understands everything and knows you personally and will in no wise cast out those that come to Him. You just have to trust His word. The answer to your Question is NO! God is the Judge of who gets into heaven. You would just have to refuse Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to miss heaven. 1 John 1:8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Matthew12:31. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. Acts13:38. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 39. And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Ephesians 1:7. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; God Bless |

107 | What commandments to keep? | 1 John 2:4 | christian7 | 53679
If you love God...you will want to know Him...if you know him you will know His commandments...God gave them to us so we would know what he commands us not to do THOU SHALT NOT...If we say we know God and keep not his commandments we are liars and the truth is not in us...we should try our best to keep all of Gods commandments to show others that we are in Him and that He is in us...you wont offend anyone by keeping the 10 commandments and Love thy neighbor as thyself...by doing this you show that you Love God...for by keeping the Word the love of God is perfected in us...now someone might debate my answer but now this one thing...if I do my best to keep His commandments, it really does please Him and shows His word abides in me...God Bless

109 | How can Caiaphas see Jesus' return? | Rev 1:7 | christian7 | 102597
Dear Listener: According to scripture all shall see Him coming in the clouds. Jesus was prophesying of what the high priest had read in Daniel 7:13. I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. This was telling the high priest that He was the Christ, God in the flesh and to call yourself God was blasphemy. Unless of course that you are God and Jesus is. KJV Matthew 24:30 30. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. KJV Mark 13:24-26 24. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25. And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 26. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. KJV Revelation 1:7 7. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I hope this helps some. If not I will try to explain in more depth. God Bless |
