201 | will the world end soon | Matt 25:13 | glory777 | 17158
Dalprad- Yes, there are certain things in scripture that set off some heated discussion, but it all doesn't matter. These are things that do not affect one's salvation. I myself believe in the pre-trib (the scriptures have been used again and again to justify it, just as mid trib has scripture to justify it) but I do know what will happen in the future, and if I see it coming about, it does not matter where I stand, I will know what is happening and know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I also know that the majority of those who write in to the forum are born again and will have an eternity to say either "you are right" or "you are wrong" and not mind at all because we will be glorifying the Lord together and even now know that we are brothers and sisters in the Lord. So even though there is some "heat" know that there is love with it, but our humanness gets in the way sometimes. God be with you. Debbie |

202 | HOW DID THE WOMAN | Matt 15:21 | glory777 | 17133
dltlshines- I think because she pressed in. First she called out to Him - she a Gentile and He a Jew who was not supposed to associate with Gentiles. Even when He told her His mission was for the Jew first, she still did not give up but asked for whatever He could provide, not knowing that He would provide everything. Debbie |

204 | what does rev6.6 refer to | Rev 6:6 | glory777 | 17036
According to the notes in my bible, "a denarius was the daily wage for a laborer, which ordinarily would buy eight times the amount of wheat and barley as under these conditions. The oil and the wine, symbolic of luxuries, likely means the famine is viewed as limited. It does not depict worldwide rampant starvation." From the Spirit filled Life Bible. Inflation to the max. 205 | Are theregospels about Mary Magdeline? | Mark | glory777 | 17035
freespirit- I think I covered all of these in your other post, and no, the only gospels there are are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Debbie |

206 | Who was Mary Magdeline? | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 17034
Freespirit- Other than the verse you have mentioned, check out Matthew 27:55-61; Luke 8:2-3; and John 20:1-18. I did not read anywhere about her going to live in the desert nor does the gospels mention any names of the devils. She didn't have any events in her life that gave her a bad reputation, but the story tellers in the present have. She is usually mentioned with older women so she must have been an older woman, also. She was a grateful follower of Jesus and nothing more than a good example for us to follow. Do not believe everything you hear, but search out in the scriptures the truth. Peace to you- Debbie |

207 | three factors in Jesus' birth which iden | NT general Archive 1 | glory777 | 16988
Beverly- I went to the site www.messiahreavealed.org and they give you everything you want to know about messianic prophecy. They deal with the facts that Jesus came from a poor family. Hope this helps. Debbie |

208 | who are the sons of god and how can one | Gen 6:4 | glory777 | 16986
calbabs- This is a verse that has some controversy. I believe it to mean, men from the line of Seth, holy men. Very easy to become a son of God. Repent of your sins, acknowledge that Jesus died on the cross for you, believe that He is God and ask Him to be lord of your life. Debbie |

209 | Opinions of J. Falwell on WTC attack. | Rom 3:23 | glory777 | 16983
You are so right. But if we know that the world is going to be destroyed anyway, why do anything? I think the bible says somewhere about "pray for peace in Jerusalem". Why should we follow that when we also know that the only time there will be peace is when the antichrist signs the treaty for peace, which he will eventually break himself. When I heard about the terrorists' action, all I could think was "God have mercy, God forgive us." I do believe the US will turn back to Him, just as the Ninevites repented after Jonah preached to them. But I bet there were Ninevites who said, "The man was a fool. God never was going to do anything anyway".
210 | What is this verse meant to be? | Ps 139:7 | glory777 | 16954
Delaro- This is just a fact of God's omnipresence. He is everywhere. You can't go anywhere where He isn't beside you. You can't run away from Him and you can't hide from Him and He is always there when you need Him and want His closeness. What a comfort. Blessings- Debbie |

211 | Opinions of J. Falwell on WTC attack. | Rom 3:23 | glory777 | 16953
Onnig- You are right that all sin, and that all sin is horrendous in the eyes of God. But if we also care about the fact that we sin and acknowledge that it is wrong and ask the Lord's help in not sinning, we are acknowledging that there is a God whom we love and respect. That is a far cry from where the country has come in the last years. Those who died were no greater sinners than any of us, I agree. And as far as who is deserving of death? Is anyone so "good" that they aren't? As far as II Chronocles 7:14 goes, through believing, I am a son (or daughter) of Abraham. The promises made to him are also made to me, and the advice given to him I am to learn from, also. Or are we to throw the OT out and say it is inapplicable and not meant for us? I still say, we have come from a nation who had it's faith in God, to a nation that honors man above all and whatever satisfies man is OK. Prayer in school is honoring God and we can't do that. Abortion denies that God is the creator. The 10 commandments, although written for the Hebrews, are a good guideline given from God, but we can't post them. Hugging trees is ok and having an "alternate lifestyle" is to be promoted. This is a far cry from the way I was taught when I went to school. But we have become a nation so full of ourselves that at no time will we attribute anything bad that happens as something God would allow. If it was something good, howerver, we would be the first to accept it as being from god because we deserve it. We won't humble ourselves to anyone. Those poor people just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, just as it could have been you or me. But we are left, so we are called to arms to pray and spread the gospel and be about the Lord's business instead of our own. Debbie |

212 | Opinions of J. Falwell on WTC attack. | Rom 3:23 | glory777 | 16856
onnig- First, I believe that God is soveriegn, there is nothing that happens that He is not in control of. I believe everything that happens has a purpose and will eventually bring God glory, maybe not in our day, but someday. God knew what was going to happen and He is going to do something out of this. I do believe God lifted His hand of protection from us and look what happened. However, look at what the result of that is. People praying like never before. People are turning back to God and are not ashamed of speaking His Name. This nation reminds me so much of the OT Jews. They would turn away from God and serve other gods and even give their children to the fire in serving them (kind of remind you of dern day abortion, doesn't it?) but God would continue to call them back. Sometimes it would take catasrophe to get their attention. Yes, the terrorists were the cause of the tragedy, but had we stayed a God-fearing nation would it have ever happened? Who knows. Debbie |

213 | Can I trust this Pastor? | Hebrews | glory777 | 16854
Jensen- I agree with all who have written to answer your question. As you study and learn, you are going to find differences in thinking on some of the small issues, but as you read, you will see there are guidelines to follow and basic principles that are fundamental. I know that I could go to any one of the churches represented by those who contribute knowledgably to this forum and feel comfortable and fed by the Word. Debbie |

214 | Isn't the computer bad? | Revelation | glory777 | 16853

215 | Where was God? | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 16589
prayon- I don't know if I can give a rational explaination even now, and I don't know if anyone can. I am still reeling over this, but how much more are the ones who don't have total faith in the Lord? I do know that God is soveriegn. Nothing happens on this earth that God does not allow and that won't eventually bring Him glory. I know that His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are high above. I know that so many things in the history of this world and in the history of individual lives ended up proving that. On a personal level, Job was devastated, and even the crucifiction of our Lord looked like a victory for Satan. But Job was blessed over and above all that he had originally and Christ was raised from the dead in the ultimate victory. I see everything in the last few years as being in God's plan. So many Christians were upset at Clinton's actions that in the last election there were more people praying than I had ever heard of or seen. Perhaps God put him in office for just that very reason - a choice had to be made - a godly man or a man who chose to follow his own desires. God knew what kind of a man was going to be needed for a time as we have just seen and are still seeing. In the immediate outcome of this tragedy, people of all denominations and faiths are on their knees crying out to God. I have never heard the media use the word "God" so much and so many people admitting that we need God's help. I am looking for a great working in the spiritual life of this country (and in fact the world - so many are crying to Him with us)and many people coming to the Lord because of this. Is spiritual revival worth it? Is living with God for eternity without pain, crying and no more death better than life here on earth (I am not advocating suicide or murder - when our lives here are over is in God's hand's, not ours)? We see things from our human view and in the now, we can't see the eternal view. What I do know, is that this act of war should be a wake up call for all Christians. I don't know if it will be the war that will usher in the antichrist or not, it is possible - that is in God's hands, but if ever a time was that we were called to show our true colors as Christians, now is the time. We were called to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We need to tell unbelievers, not just by our words but by our actions. People of other faiths (Islam included) need to know that Christ died for them, also. We need to show them the Jesus loves them, too, and let our love bring them to Christ. When people are scared, show them that those who are in Christ Jesus have His comfort, strengh and peace so they might wonder at the joy we have and come to know Him. We lost so many lives Tuesday, but the fields right now are whiter than they have ever been. We do not know what the Lord is planning, but we should always be looking up and know that He has a reason and that it will bring Him glory. God bless you - all who are grieving. But praise God, we do have hope! Debbie |

216 | and a jezebel spirit..? | Rev 2:20 | glory777 | 16542
Blessings, Cate- Also note that Ahab gave up his authority of being the leader to Jezebel. In many marriages of today, the Jezebel spirit is alive and strong, with the woman doing and using everything in her power to take over the male leadership role. This is totally going against the will of God, as Jezebel did then. Debbie |

217 | Did you forgive the Tuesday terrorists? | Matt 6:14 | glory777 | 16375
Steve- God may love them, but I don't. I love the families of those who are mourning their loss. I love the firemen and policemen who are risking their lives for any victims that may still be alive, even though the odds are getting slimmer and slimmer. I will pray for them that they see before too late that Jesus is Lord and will accept Him as such, but I cannot love them. Until those that are murderers and worse are not covered by the blood of Jesus, God sees their sins, and, I don't believe, is too pleased with them, either. He may love them and mourn over them, but He will not tolerate sin, which is what Jesus' sacrifice was about. I want to see the ones who did this executed so they will not do this to any others. I want the ones who were behind the ones who did this executed so they can not sponsor any more of this terrorism. If old women could join the armed forces, I would volunteer, because I have nothing to lose and everything to gain, and in the process, could leave this world in a better situation. No scripture, no quotes, but the history of these terrorists shows there is no remorse and, they know just what they are doing. Debbie |

218 | Let unite in prayer believers in Christ! | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 16089
Father God- I ask you to bring healing to the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones in this horrendous situation. Bring healing to our nation as a whole and help it to realize that we can do nothing without you. Father, let this tragedy not cause the people of this nation to overreact. Give us all the wisdom to know that it was a fanatical faction that caused this, and not all of mid-eastern descent or of a faith other than Christian were responsible. And Father, we come to your knowing that the time of Jesus' return draws ever nearer. Give us the boldness and the willingness to follow your leading in bringing people to You. As a country who has drawn away, we are in as much need of evangelism as any country in this world. Give us hearts for the lost. I pray this in the precious Name of Jesus. Debbie |

To all- I would beseech you in the Name of Jesus to abstain from going to this web site. We are to keep our hearts and minds pure. This site was obviously created by a person who is very sick. By going to it, we are only encouraging the person who authored it. May the God of all that is holy guard your minds and hearts. Debbie |

220 | Should we call gov;t leaders' sin sin? | Luke 3:19 | glory777 | 15690
Welcome koinekid- I'm not positive on this, but I don't believe the general public had a voice in who led the government at that time. And yet, even then, Jesus gave us the words to give unto Caesar the things that are Caeser's and Paul restated that by telling us in Romans to pay taxes and obey the government (Roman 13:7). However, when the government gives us an order that is in direct opposition to what the Word of God tells us (Acts 5:27-29), we have a mandate to disobey. In our country, our government is chosen by the people. If after prayerful reveiw of the candidates and I believe seeing how their character and actions line up with God's Word, it is our responsibility to act with the freedom given to us and the wisdom given to us to vote for the one whom we believe will bring this country more in line with the guidelines God has set up. If an official is not doing what Jesus would do, we also are within our rights to tell it like it is. But we also have been told to pray for our leaders. God does appoint them,(I believe God put Clinton in office, just as much as Bush) and they will serve God's purpose for being there. Clinton's exploits caused this nation to ask itself "does character count?" and I don't know of an election where more people got down on their knees and prayed for God's will to be done. This past president caused people to eveluate where their allegiances are. And I would dare to say, no other president has had so many people praying for him to act in God's wisdom as G.W.Bush. This got a little off the subject, but I also look at John the Baptist who pointed out that one of the government officials (Luke 3:18)had acted immorally. Of course, he was also imprisoned for it and lost his head. It is a good thing that doesn't happen in this country, right? Debbie |
