201 | Are we do pray to Jesus? - II | Matt 6:9 | Brian.g | 14475
Lionstrong I believe that it is ok to pray to God direct, from when Jesus taught the following prayer: Luke 11 1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples." 2 He said to them, "When you pray, say: "Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. 3 Give us each day our daily bread. 4 Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation." Brian |

202 | Are we do pray to Jesus? - II | Matt 6:9 | Brian.g | 14376
Steve The following supports that you may pray to God through Jesus as an intercessor. While Hebrews and Mathew specifically address intercession, John is directed more towards the fact that Jesus is directing people to God and that He, Jesus, is only the messenger (or intercessor). Heb 7:24 but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. Heb 7:25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Matt 10:32 "Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. Matt 10:33 "But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven John 12:44 And Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me. John 12:45 "He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. John 12:46 "I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. John 12:47 "If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. John 12:48 "He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. John 12:49 "For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. John 12:50 "I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me." |

No, I'm not the person to speak for the Catholic Church. If this information is going to be used for instructional purposes, I have the responsibility to the student, as well as the Church to explain things exactly right. I'm not qualified at this time. Nolan, Hank, Steve Butler, Tim Moran and all others - Who can help DIM finish this project. |

209 | Answer the Question | OT general | Brian.g | 14258
retxar I understand your thoughts, but I think you will agree that one thing lacking in this forum is tolerance of others who don't think exactly the same way the others think. But, I also know that when the list that DIM has asked for help in compiling, everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised at the similiarities. With the knowledge, I think tolerance will grow of other Christians and that will help expand the benefits of this forum. In the name of Christian brotherhood, will you try to answer for one of the denominations? Brian |

Yes, I do understand what you are looking for, but unfortunately, I am not the person who can provide the answer. From your other posting, I sense your frustration. However, all things said and done, this is a fine forum in which, overall, people want to help teach. I am sure someone here will assist you with your question. There are many good Christians here. Give the others a chance to come to your assistance. |

Radioman I have taken the liberty of reading your postings and have found them interesting. However, there is one line from one post which caught my attention: Charis is right, "Fear not, Radioman's bark is worse than his bite :-)" By the way, I agree with you with regard to Timothy. Thanks Brian |

Each denomination has a slightly different interpretation on salvation, why not take advantage of this opportunity and teach what you believe when someone is receptive to listening to you instead of shutting them out.

Nolan You have taken it upon yourself to be a teacher on this forum. A teacher is a leader. Be a leader and teach the word of God. But, teach with the wisdom your students are entitled to. You have much to offer the members of this forum, but offer it with dignity and wisdom. Brian |

219 | who did cain marry? | Gen 1:1 | Brian.g | 14156
The question I put before you is not who did Cain marry. My question was where does it say Adam is the only man God created from dust. The second question was - who is God protecting Cain from by marking Cain. Can you find the answer to these questions. Brian |

220 | who did cain marry? | Gen 1:1 | Brian.g | 14153
I said the Catholic Church called him a heretic for speaking in a manner which the Church did not agree - and the Pope excommunicated him. Do you share similiar infallible one-man decision making power in this forum? Which chapter and verse of Genesis says God made only Adam - don't speak in generalities - be specific. Also, who was God protecting Cain from - be specific - because I can't find an answer. |
