181 | Can I request for cassettes from tithes | OT general | inmyheart | 48510
Sam, Once again thank you for your response. You say nobody gets slapped on the head and jumps out of a wheelchair, then what is the proper way? I'm saying that when Jesus healed the blind man by putting mud on his eyes, well that sounds a little strange to me, how about you? Or when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead by calling out his name, why didn't He simply go in and grab hold of Lazarus? You see these are somethings that I look at. When the Word say that Gods way are Higher than ours, I look at it,that there is somethings we will never understand, so if a person gets slapped on the head :) or gently gets raised from that chair, what difference does it make, God gets the Glory! Now about the money issue, sure I agree, what is money to God anyway! The saints sent money to Paul also, and he didn't have a T.V. program :) Our finances should go to our local church or fellowship, if people want to send their money to God's people on T.V. as an offering of their love then I see no harm thank my friend Sam, May God continue to use you for His Glory! |

191 | Psalm 139 Why I still insecure? | NT general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 52098
Hello lialia1212, I commend you for being open about your situation. I encourage you to continue seeking God for your answers. This is the very reason that God sent His Son Jesus, to be the atonement for our sins and to transform us by the renewing of our minds.(Romans 12:1-2) Your past life holds no value to where God is leading you, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2Corinthians 5:17). God wants you to have faith in him, trusting that He will lead you to your destination, in the completion He already sees you in, "being CONFIDENT of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6). Put your trust in God and His Word. I pray that you seek council from your pastor to help give you the guidance you seek. God bless you my friend, God Loves You! |

194 | When does the Holy Spirit leave you ???? | NT general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 53689
Immediately following salvation, the Spirit of God enters our life and confirms that a new relationship has been established with God. God's Spirit within us produces love, obedience to God and His Word. As long as we are dependent upon God for our strength and obedience to His Word, we experience the grace of a new Christian's "First Love". It is very easy, however, to grieve the Holy Spirit of God and to leave our "First Love". CAN WE LEAVE OUR FIRST LOVE? Revelations 2:2-5, says yes, but God says in Hebrews 13:5 "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." You may grieve, you may harden your heart, but the Holy Spirit will never leave you. He will use all situations to convict you of your sin, to turn your life around, so you will line up your life with the will of God. You ask a great question, I believe that God's is transforming us by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2) Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- His good, pleasing and perfect will. This way, will we not grieve the Holy Spirit :) nor harden our hearts! "But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. God Bless you my friend. |

195 | why did paul considered gifts such as, s | NT general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 60083
goldenc1, Answer for question 1); (6-8) An exhortation to use (and how to use) the gifts God has granted to the individual members of the church a. The difference and distribution of gifts is all due to the grace that is given to us; spiritual gifts are not given on the basis of merit, but rather because of the sovereign choice of God i. This idea is related in the very Greek word for "spiritual gifts" - charismata, a gift of grace, a term apparently coined by Paul to emphasize that the giving of these spiritual gifts was all of grace ii. Spiritual gifts are given at the discretion of the Holy Spirit; as 1 Corinthians 12:11 says, But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. iii. This should be a insurmountable barrier to pride in the exercise spiritual gifts; however man, in the depravity of his heart, finds a way to be proud about spiritual gifts and insists on exalting men for how God has gifted them b. Prophecy must be practiced in proportion to our faith; God may give us something to say to an individual or church body that stretches our faith; if we can't prophecy in faith and trust that God has really spoken to us, we shouldn't do it at all i. We are reminded that prophecy, in the Biblical understanding, isn't necessarily "fore-telling" in a strictly predictive sense; it is more accurately "forth-telling" the heart and mind of God, which may or may not include a predictive aspect ii. This warns us against flippant, "stream of consciousness" prophecy that has no difficulty saying "Thus says the Lord" at the drop of a hat iii. In proportion to our faith actually has "the" before faith; Paul may be cautioning that prophecy must be according to the faith, in accord with the accepted body of doctrine among believers iv. Some take the proportion of faith to be the proportion of the faith of the audience of the prophecy; this has truth also v. Prophecy does not have to be practiced in an ostentatious, "heavy" manner, but it does need to be taken seriously by those who prophecy if it is ever to be taken seriously by those who hear c. Ministry has in view the broader picture of simply serving in practical ways; Paul sees this as important ministry from the Holy Spirit as well d. Teaching has in mind instruction, while exhortation encourages people to practice what they have been taught; both are necessary for a healthy Christian life i. Those who are taught but not exhorted become "fat sheep" who only take in and never live the Christian life; those who are exhorted but not taught become excited and active, but have no depth or understanding to what they are doing, and will burn out quickly or work in wrong ways e. He who gives refers to the one who is a channel through which God provides resources for His body; this is an important spiritual gift which must be exercised with liberality; when someone who is called an gift to be a giver stops giving Iiberally, they will often see their resources dry up - having forgotten why God has blessed them f. He who leads must show diligence; it is easy for leaders to become discouraged and feel like giving up, but they must persevere if they will please God by their leadership g. He who shows mercy must have cheerfulness; it is a difficult thing to not only show mercy, but to be cheerful about it. This reminds us that the gift of showing mercy is a supernatural gift of the Holy Spirit C. A series of brief instructions on living like a Christian with others |

196 | why did paul considered gifts such as, s | NT general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 60084
goldenc1, Answer for question 2); (16-17) A prayer for the Thessalonians a. Before Paul asks God to do something specific for the Thessalonians, he remembers all God has done for them: loved them, giving them everlasting consolation and good hope by grace i. In our intercession and petition, we do well to remember God's past faithfulness and present blessing; His faithfulness in the past is a promise of His faithfulness for the future b. Paul asks for God to do two things in the Thessalonians: that He would comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work; comfort and continued testimony and work for Jesus are two special needs for believers under pressure. God bless |

197 | Is baptism a work? | NT general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 66383
It is written, GOD IS NOT THE AUTHOR OF CONFUSION-1 Cor 14:33. There are many religions and traditions that contradict God’s Word. It was the same in the days of Jesus. Do not place your hope in a religion, but place it in the Bible. Do not follow stories that some people tell, which may cause you to err from the truth. Some say that you do not have to be baptized, because the prisoner that hung on the cross next to Jesus was not baptized. We note the command to be baptized, given in Mk 16:16 and Acts 2:38 and others, came after Jesus rose from the dead. The prisoner died before Jesus rose from the grave. How could he have been baptized into the death and resurrection of Jesus, when Jesus had not yet been buried or risen from the dead? He also died before the Holy Ghost was given. It is written: THE HOLY GHOST WAS NOT YET GIVEN-Jn 7:39; ref 20:22. Some say that Paul was not sent to baptize, and this is true; but his followers did the baptizing. Some might say because Mk 16:16 does not repeat the word baptize in the second part of the verse that it means it is not mandatory. Let’s read Mk 16:16-HE THAT BELIEVETH AND IS BAPTIZED SHALL BE SAVED; BUT HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT SHALL BE DAMNED. Some have asked why Jesus did not say, "He that believeth not and is baptized not?" The answer is, because we are baptized into the death and resurrection of Jesus. You cannot be baptized into One in whom you do not believe. Thus, to say HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT, "and is baptized not" would be incorrect. For if you do not believe on Jesus, it is not possible to be baptized into His death and resurrection. Therefore, if a person does not believe, no biblical baptism exists. Some would say that water baptism is symbolic only; thus, it is not necessary. It is far more than symbolic as the Scriptures are showing us. This is why Satan fights so hard against baptism. This is why Satan tries to cause so much confusion about water baptism and is succeeding. Some say that water baptism is not necessary as it is a form of works. Satan is a liar. Do not let him deceive you. Obey God’s Word. God bless - need more info, let me know. Blessed be the Name of our Lord. |

199 | Accountable for every commandment? | NT general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 66425
Greetings Charis, And as you probably know, words have meanings. You stated; "As you probably know, "I think" that every believer should be baptized." I don't want to assume anything, so do you "think" or do you "know" that every believer should be baptized! Because, if you "know" then you know that santification follow salvation. You know that there is no perfect Christian, but through all things God builds our character, to reflect that of Christ. Let me know if you "think" or do you "know", and this is not a play on words, this way I can answer you more direct. Thanks, and God bless |

It is written, Lk 7:29,30-AND ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HEARD HIM, AND THE PUBLICANS, JUSTIFIED GOD (or acknowledged God’s justice, or God’s way was right), BEING BAPTIZED WITH THE BAPTISM OF JOHN. BUT THE PHARISEES AND LAWYERS REJECTED THE COUNSEL OF GOD (or God’s purpose or God’s plan) AGAINST THEMSELVES, BEING NOT BAPTIZED OF HIM. |
