Bible Question:
When you greive the Holy Spirit does He retreat or does He go to a quiet place in your soul? He never leaves us or if you do blaspham the Holy Spirit then does He leave you? When you turn away from Holy Spirit and your heart becomes hardened then does He leave you? |
Bible Answer: Immediately following salvation, the Spirit of God enters our life and confirms that a new relationship has been established with God. God's Spirit within us produces love, obedience to God and His Word. As long as we are dependent upon God for our strength and obedience to His Word, we experience the grace of a new Christian's "First Love". It is very easy, however, to grieve the Holy Spirit of God and to leave our "First Love". CAN WE LEAVE OUR FIRST LOVE? Revelations 2:2-5, says yes, but God says in Hebrews 13:5 "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." You may grieve, you may harden your heart, but the Holy Spirit will never leave you. He will use all situations to convict you of your sin, to turn your life around, so you will line up your life with the will of God. You ask a great question, I believe that God's is transforming us by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2) Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- His good, pleasing and perfect will. This way, will we not grieve the Holy Spirit :) nor harden our hearts! "But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. God Bless you my friend. |
