Bible Question:
1) why do you think Paul considered encouraging a gift along with such gifts as serving, teaching and contributing (romans 12:6-8)? 2) what does the term "eternal encouragement" Paul writes about in 2 Thess. 2:16-17 means? |
Bible Answer: goldenc1, Answer for question 2); (16-17) A prayer for the Thessalonians a. Before Paul asks God to do something specific for the Thessalonians, he remembers all God has done for them: loved them, giving them everlasting consolation and good hope by grace i. In our intercession and petition, we do well to remember God's past faithfulness and present blessing; His faithfulness in the past is a promise of His faithfulness for the future b. Paul asks for God to do two things in the Thessalonians: that He would comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work; comfort and continued testimony and work for Jesus are two special needs for believers under pressure. God bless |
