Hello fellow brother's and sister's! This is my first post, and my question is this; How important is it to know scripture, ie., book, chapter and verse. I can recall what what is being said in scripture, but not one to remember ch. and verse. I consider myself a good student of the Word, but as I said, not good at remembering verses. Just thought I ask, before interacting with others and get bombarded with, SHOW ME WHERE. Well I wait expecting! God's Grace to All. inmyheart |

7 | Verses for dealing with a childs illness | Bible general Archive 3 | inmyheart | 162330
Greetings, Welcome to this site. There are many verses in the four gospels that relate to healing, but God assures us that He is the Healer. God wants you to trust in Him and not to worry over your daughter. You stated that "God is looking over her" if you believe that then your soul is at rest, rest from worry, anxiety and stress. God's way's are not our ways and the paradox of life is, "if we keep our life, we will lose it, and if we lose our life for his sake, then we will find it." My friend there is strength in prayer, and I will link my faith with yours and pray for your daughters recovery. God bless you and you are really in Good Hands. inmyheart |

9 | Purpose Driven Life? | Bible general Archive 2 | inmyheart | 101409
The Purpose Driven Life answers life's question, What on earth am I here for?. For Forty days the Church breaks down to small cell groups (10-15 people) and studies what God says in the Bible about our purpose of why we are here, such as: Purpose 1: You were planned for God's Pleasure. Purpose 2: You were formed for God's Family. Purpose 3: You were created to become life Christ. Purpose 4: You were shaped for serving God. Purpose 5: You were made for a mission. Most people struggle with three basic issues in life. The first is identity: "Whom am I?" The second is importance: "Do I matter?" The third is impact: "What is my place in life?" The answers to all three questions are found in God's five purposes for you. In the Upper Room, as Jesus was concluding His last day of ministry with His disciples, He washed their feet as an example and said, "now that you know these things, you will be bless if you do them." (John 13:17 NIV) Once you know what God wants you to do, the blessing comes in actually doing it. As we come the the end of our forty-day journey together, now that you know God's purpose for your life, you will be blessed if you "do" them! The cell groups remain together after the forty days studying God's Word. The Testimonies of how a persons life has changed are awesome. Pastor Rick Warren is the Pastor of Saddleback Church in Irvine, Ca. I personally had the pleasure of visiting this Church, and believe me this Church is not about money, it's about JESUS! God bless |

15 | 2 followups, masturbation and 1Cor7:2-5 | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 47633
Greetings to you my friend, I thank God that you are honest and open. I believe that God has set us free from bondage when we accepted Christ into our lives as Savior. I also believe that there are some areas of our lives that we don't easily release to Him because of our pride and denial, however The comforter, Holy Spirit, will begin to convict us of those areas in order for us to mature and lead us to our purpose and destiny (completeness). It could be easier to confess let's say, lying or stealing, and God will work in our lives to turn it around to being honest and giving. Let's not minumize our sin. Sin is sin, in the eyes of another masturbation can seem over whelming, it's still sin, not matter how we look at it. Paul writes in Philippians 3:13-14, "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: FORGETTING what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward "in" Christ Jesus." So what am I really saying? I too was bound to this sinful act, just as I was also was a liar and a thief. It was easier for me to confess the later two because I could easily relate it to others without getting some course reaction as opposed to admitting my sexual sin. It was even hard for me to confess it to The Father, because of my embarrassment. I believe, all in all, I really didn't want to rid this from my life, because after all it did bring me pleasure, and the bible says that pleasure, it's only for a season, God wants to give us life and JOY. 1 Corinthians 11:28, "A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup." This sin (masturbation) held me back and prevented me to from going forward into the works of my calling. Thank God, I turned it over to Him and He gave me the breakthrough to walk on His path. I pray my friend, don't let this act stop you from obtaining what God has prepared for you. The enemy wants to rob you of your blessings. Thank you for reading this. You are the apple of God's eye. What does the Word say? I will never leave you, nor forsake you, what a promise. Your brother and friend. |

16 | is masterbation a sin explain thxs | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 47758
ChristLifer2001, excuse me, I do not mean to interrup, and I know you mentioned that you do not want to enter into a debate, and with that in mind I would only like to express my view on this subject to you. Thank you for understanding. In your reference to Romans 12:1, you left the last part out (an important part), which states that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God. "Which" is your resonable service. The next verse is just as important, v.2, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Do you agree that the world will tolerate just about anything and everything? How about masterbation? Again, will you agree that we are to renew our minds, that is to change our thoughts from how the world thinks to having a mind of Christ? Paul writes in Phillipians 4:8, "Finally, brethern, whatsoever "things are", true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, "think" on these things." As for me, I just don't see or comprehend masturbation in there! I believe masturbation is a sexual sin, it is not a natural act. Been there and done that, while in this act of masturbation, my mind was filled with lust, to the point of justifing it as natural. I believe, in my own opinion, masturbation is idolatry. Let me end with this commentary on the first commandment; The idea behind "no other gods before Me" is not that it is permissible to have other gods, as long as they line up behind the true God; the idea is that there are to be "no" other gods before the sight of the true God in our life. "Before Me" is literally, "to My face" i. This means God demands to be more than "added" to our live. We don't just add Jesus to the life we already have, we must give Him all our lives. Failure to obey this commandement is called "idolatry, we are to flee idolatry (1Corinthians 10:14); those whose life is marked by habitual idolatry will not inherit the kingdom of God (1Corinthians 6:9-10, Ephesians 5:5, Revelation 21:8, 22:15), which marks our old life instead of the new (1Peter 4:3), and we are not to associate with those who call themselves Christians who are idolaters (1Corinthians 5:11). This why I believe that "in" the renewing process of our minds God is bringing us "out" of our walking in the world and into Kingdom walking. Once again thank you for your time. I can't wait to see Him! God bless as you get understanding. |

Hello again, I will not enter into a debate with you, as I mentioned in my last post. However you are leaning towards defending your stand, and that's alright. Yes I have looked at another person with lust in my heart, but I wasn't "masturbating in my mind," I was committing adultery! You have misunderstood what I was trying to relate to you. Yes sin is sin, and no I'm not attempting to rate sin. I'm saying masturbation IS sin. When I accepted Jesus into my heart, God remembered my sins no more. However, the born-again experience not only raised me to a higher standard of living, but God also is renewing my mind to that standard (Romans 12:1-2). IN this process I'm making adjustments in my life as I look into the mirror (The Word of God) of God. As I line myself up with His Word, God is putting closure to those areas of my life that doesn't belong there. Make sense so far? Yes "in" Christ we sin less because there is no condemnation to those who are "in" Him, we wil never be perfect because of our sin nature, but we sin less because God reveals to us what sin is, I might add that a sinner knows when he is sinning, so I now don't practice sin because of it's concequences, following me so far? Some people are able to get a hold of God's life changing plan for their life because they are able to committ 100 percent of their lives to Him. Not me, I had a tough time in doing that, why? Well, I was raised in a dysfunctional family. I wasn't able to reveal my problems without being put down and feeling foolish. So I held everything in. When I came to God, I had many issues and I was too embarrassed, because I felt in my puny mind that He too would reject me because after all I was still practicing my sex sin and feeling guilty about it. Maybe you had a functional family (guessing here) and you may be more open than myself, and you don't see it as a promblem, but read (please) Ephesians 4:17-25. Now through the five fold ministry, Eph. 4:11, God is perfecting His saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Why? Eph.4:13 says "Till we ALL come in the UNITY of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:" I preach Christ to sinners and when led bulid up my brother who may be expierencing the same hard ship I may have gone through. Thamk you again for taking the time to read this post. We both have a purpose and a destiny and may God have all the Glory. God bless you ChristLifer2001 |

Revelation 22:21, we start and finish with grace. In v.20 "surely I come quickly" well what can I say, that's good also. The last verse of the Old Testament contains a curse: "Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse. (Malachi 4:6). The last words of the New Testament speak of "Grace".
