41 | Rom 7:9 What's it mean? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 51903
Charis Trust me, I don't have the time nor do I have to explain to anyone, this is my responsiblity, how I responded. I will repeat myself one last time, it's unfortunate that there is a disagreement between family members, but I am not the one to address this to. If there is a situation of abuse here it should be brought to the attention of this forum. Whatever is being said on this thread, that you speak of, doesn't sound uplifting to me. God bless |

47 | Is oral sex among a married couple a sin | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 55616
Grace and Peace, For everything that is Holy, Righteous and Pure the devil has put an opposite effect. If you were to ask the marijuana users why they smoke it, one of their reasons that they always use is, because God created every herb yelding plant for man's use, now is that ridiculous or what. And for someone, such as yourself, begins to ask: Where in the Bible (book, chapter, verse) is oral sex PLAINLY prohibited?, this is dumbfounded. You mention that you neither defend nor attack the practice of oral sex, well, I'm not insulting your understanding, but obviously you never practice this act prior to knowing our Lord, or you wouldn't be making that statement. I believe that satan has twisted the minds of belivers to say, "as long as both spouses agree, it's permissable," this is a lie from the pit of hell. This is not an love act, it is purely demonic, it is nothing but lust. My friend, I thank God you don't know more than you do of this topic. We are men of God proclaiming the good news of the gospel, that Jesus came into the world to save sinners. "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people." Eph. 5:1-2 (NIV) "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself." Eph.5:25-28 (NIV). Thank you for taking the time to review this post. I stand on God's truth, and not the schemes of the devil. God's blessings |

48 | Is oral sex among a married couple a sin | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 56089
Kalos, Thank you for not calling me a Pharisee, and you better not ever call me one either :) I'm not building fences around fences. This sex act is not natural (this I know from past experience), the things that go through one's mind is anything but holy. Anyone who has been delivered from this will tell you the same thing I am. However, not to make an issue out of this topic, let's not forget the one's who are struggling with sex issues in their lives. Grace to you also, continue to be a blessing |

49 | new man old looks | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 56298
Hello to you too, That's an awesome ministry, however I personally don't know anyone involved with this ministry. I have spent six years, in and out, in the county jail system. Tattoo's that cover most of the body, is from the prison system. tattoo's ususally tell a story, of prison life or the gang they belong to and etc. It doesn't matter what background a person comes from, we all need Jesus as Lord and Savior. When that happens our lives change. 2Corinthians5:17-18 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! v.18, All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:"(NIV) This person whom you speak of, God's purpose for his life was not for him to set in prison or cover his body with tattoo's, I'm sure his family suffers too. His life is now fulfilled and God will take him to the destiny that He has prepared for him. "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. [But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead]." Philippians 3:12-13 (NIV) Another good scripture to share with this brother is Jeremiah 29:11. I want to thank you for taking the time to reach out to the forgotten ones behind prison walls. I'm sure he is looking at your life as an example of what God can do! God bless you real good |

51 | cult by what definition? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 57546
EdB, Greetings, and thank you for responding. I was actually posting, only, to In the Andes. I also support the movement that you or any others may reject. With so many views and beliefs on topics such as; Baptism, Holy Spirit(Ghost), Rapture(pre-mid-post), etc., a person must make a stand. But the bottom line is that the evidence of God in a persons life is...LOVE! For an example, you may agree or disagree on my views, and vise-versa, but I not going to be, and I don't expect anyone else to be critical. However, my main reason, if you must know, was to point out what the last paragraph, and particularly the last sentence of the article, which states, "If you desire to have life and peace, stay with the Word of God and stay away from those who make it their life's work to critcize others." Once again, thanks for responding. God bless |

Hank, God's Grace and Peace. I rejoice with you that God has a purpose and destiny for your life, and God is not through with the purpose that He has called you to fulfill! Prayers have touch the Throne of God on your behalf, and what was meant for the bad, God is now turning for the good. Romans 8:28. May God not continue to heal you, but that He is touching and healing your family as well. Rest up my friend, and may you have strength as an eagle. God Bless |

EdB, I said that I support the movement that you and others reject. I'm not "caught up" into anything that you write of. I'm not following a Jim Jones movement. You write that "you must present the truth," I know the truth as Jesus answered in John 14:6. If you know anyone who is caught up in what you described in your post, by all means, do reachout to them. Thank you for your concern and for you reply. God bless |

54 | Feel so lonely and down over this burden | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 59126
Please do not focus on people, they will only let you down, not willinly, but they will. Put your trust in the Lord. Sounds like God is doing a work in your son's life. Its time to let go and let God. Drugs and alcohol is not the problem, that is only the solution, the wrong solution to your son's problem. The problem is within, God is drawing it out. Romans 8:28 says that all things happen for the good, begin to look for the good that will come out of this. Continue to pray for your son, and forgive those who have misunderstand you. God Loves you, and will see you through each step of the way. "For we walk by faith and not by sight" 2Cor.5:7. God Bless you! |

Thank you for your kind response! God is the Producer of our life, also the Provider. He wants us to know Him intimately, not only as our deliverer, but the One who Delivers. I come in agreement with you, that you and YOUR household will serve the Lord. God is well able to touch someone in jail, I know, God touched my life two years ago today in a jail cell :) God has not let me down since. He won't let your son down either. Let me hear a praise report from you in the near future, ok? God bless you my friend. God really loves you! |

56 | does God reconcile broken marriages? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 59613
ewokmomma, I found this is my files. I'm not sure from what source it comes from, but this answeres your question. God bless you my friend as the Holy Spirit continues to lead you. ))))))))) * ((((((((((( First of all, the divine standard for marriage is lifelong commitment to one's spouse, and nothing else. Even though divorce was permitted in some cases under the Old Testament economy, Christ made it plain that this was not God's ideal. When He was asked this very question, "He answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." (Matthew 19:4-6). This seems very comprehensive and conclusive, yet He immediately followed up this statement with the following apparent exception: "Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery" (Matthew 19:9; see also Matthew 5:31, 32). It does seem from this statement that the discovery of extramarital unchastity on the part of one' spouse is here given as a possible grounds for divorce. God does place a high value on faithfulness, on the part of both bride and bridegroom, as a basis for a happy and lasting marriage. Fornication is condemned as a sin in both Old and New Testaments. In this day of widespread sexual license, however, this provision might well become a rather common ground for divorce, even among Christians. It does, indeed, dilute the principle of "one flesh" used by God to describe a true marriage. "What? Know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? For two, saith He, shall be one flesh . . . Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body: but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body" (I Corinthians 6:16, 18). This passage, incidentally, suggests that a woman who submits to extramarital sex becomes, in God's sight, a harlot, whether she yields her body for money or some other reason that she sees as profitable to herself. On the other hand, it is noteworthy that Jesus, evidently on a different occasion, did not give fornication as an excuse for divorce. "Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery" (Luke 16:18). If there is any doubt, this also applies to wives. "And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery" (Mark 10:12). Since the lord would not contradict Himself, we should conclude that, while there may be some situations in which extramarital sex would create such problems in a marriage that divorce would be better than continuing in an unhealthy or even dangerous relationship, in general it would be better to forgive earlier indiscretions (if accompanied by repentance and present faithfulness) rather than to break up what might otherwise still be a good marriage. In both cases, however, Christ warned that remarriage after divorce amounts to adultery, a sin which is explicitly forbidden by God's seventh Commandment. Both divorce and remarriage, therefore, are extremely serious steps, and both violate the divine principle of permanent union and faithfulness in marriage. But this is not the whole story. "The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy . . . For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust" (Psalm 103:8, 14). "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins" (I John 1:9). This promise is specifically for Christians, and includes even the sin of adultery, if there is genuine repentance. The Lord made this very clear in His dealing with the woman who "was taken in adultery, in the very act" (John 8:4). He reminded her accusers that they also were sinners and had no warrant to punish her. Then He told the woman: "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more" (John 8:11). He in no way condoned her sin, but He did forgive her sin, when she gave evidence of godly sorrow and determination not to sin again in this way. Under such conditions, His followers would do well to follow His example. At least in this particular context, He put no further conditions on her freedom, either to return to her husband if he would have her, or to marry another if she were already divorced. |

58 | divorce negates marriage? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 59757
ewokmomma, Please re-read the last paragraph to my post that I sent you. My friend, if I might add, Forgiveness is the beginnig of healing to anyone who has been offended in any situation. Luke 23:34, speaks of this forgiveness. If only I had known the consequences of my sins in the past, I would not have done them, but by the transforming of the renewing of my mind, day by day, I'm able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will.(Romans 12:2) May God continue to lead you to your destination. God bless. |

60 | repentance first then reconcile | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 59873
ewokmomma, To your question, yes. That is what Jesus is saying. We can't have a relationship with God without first repenting, through our Lord Jesus, we can't serve God with our old nature. We can't have a marital relationship when there is a division, only when the two are one, will the marriage succeed. What makes a good marriage, is two forgiving hearts. However, God has called us to live in peace; But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace.(NKJV) May I suggest that you get council from your pastor. Your situation is not impossible, always look to God for your answer. God loves you! |
