184 | Why do we have Jesus stuck in a manger? | Col 2:16 | TheFinalSQL | 107717
"Are you reading the Bible as part of your sources? If you are, what version is it?" I read the KJV of the Bible. Very good reponse. I should have phrased my question better. I see the birth of Jesus as a great event. However, it seems we celebrate his birth more than we do his death. We take a pagan holiday and move our celebration of Jesus birthday, January 6th to that day, December 25th. We try to lure pagans to christianity be deceitful means, we take on their customs... to this day we take on their customs and try to make them Christian. Also, I do believe that Jesus did experience sin. Mt 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? He was bearing the sins of the entire world. Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Praise the Lord! |

185 | Were the babes of Sodom righteous? | Gen 18:26 | TheFinalSQL | 107623
Age of accountibility. While I can not say if they were righteous or not the Bible does suggest that there is an age of accountibility: Isa 7:15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. Praise the Lord! Norm |

186 | Trinity Doctrine? | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 107614
How will you baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost while doing this deed in the name of Jesus? Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Mt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Show me one person in the Bible that was baptized as the Trinity doctrine should have us to be baptized. Will I be barred from posting here because I do not believe in the Trinity doctrine? Praise the Lord! Norm |

187 | Why do we have Jesus stuck in a manger? | Col 2:16 | TheFinalSQL | 107592
Why do we have Jesus stuck in a manger? You have introduced a lot of nonbiblical statements in this so called biblical approach. Regardless, we do not benefit from the birth of Jesus. We benefit because he died and shed his blood for us. Mt 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Praise the Lord! Norm |

189 | Info on the day of Jesus' birth | Col 2:16 | TheFinalSQL | 107529
A biblical approach. Assumptions must be made, i.e. normal 9 month pregnancy and the divisions of service began with the first month of the year. Month one in the Hebrew calendar is Abib, Ex 13:4, our March or April depending on the year. Of John the Baptist, father Zarachyrias, division of Abijah, Luke 1:5 Abijah lot is 8, 1 Chron 24:10 Each division served for a month, 1 Chron 27:1 and a few of the following verses. Zaracharias ended his service, Luke 1:23 John the Baptist is conceived in the days after. That puts his conception in the 9th month our November/December Elizabeth is 6 months pregnant at the conception of Jesus, Luke 1:36, this puts the conception of Jesus in May/June The birth of Jesus would then be in Feburary or March, which could either be the first Hebrew month or the last. 190 | Does 1 Cor. 11 apply to us today? | Rom 14:13 | TheFinalSQL | 107526
In that day in that area the women with short hair were prostitutes, or thought of to be prostitutes. I would equate this today with having a budweiser longneck in your hand, telling someone about the goodness of Jesus. Praise the Lord! Norm |

191 | What is God's Son's name? | Phil 2:9 | TheFinalSQL | 107316
Of Phil 2:9 "For this reason..." He already had the name of Jesus. The name he gave him is LORD. Isa 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. Praise the Lord! Norm |

192 | who created satan? other names for him.. | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 107314
God created satan. God created everything. Read Eze 28:11-19. 15 tells us God created him: Eze 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. Satan has been since the beginning: John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Some names, titles, descriptions for satan: Serpent - Genesis 3:1 Anointed cherub that covereth - Ezekiel 28:14 Lucifer, son of the morning - Isaiah 14:12 Dragon, old serpent, Devil - Revelations 20:10 Leviathan - Job 41:1 Praise the Lord! 193 | when will jesus christ return | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 107312
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1Thess 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1Thess 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. "Jesus is not Jehovah, never was never will be. He is Jehovah's Son, Second in all the universe." Please show me in Revelations where Jesus said he is Beta and Omega. As far as I can see he said he is Alpha and Omega: Re 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Re 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. Re 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Re 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Praise the Lord! Norm |

195 | Is Jesus YHWH? | OT general | TheFinalSQL | 107231
They did not know his name: Ex 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. Isa 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. LORD is JEHOVAH Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. Php 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Many think the name God gave here was Jesus. That is incorrect. He already had the name Jesus. According to the scriptures above the name God gave to Jesus is LORD or Jehavoh. Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Is Jesus a Spirit? The answer to that question is yes and no. Ga 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Definately not a Spirit at this time. 2 things make flesh, spirit and blood. Spirit: Joh 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. Jas 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. Blood: Le 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Joh 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. God is a Spirit. Spirit cannot die. Jesus Died. Ro 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. Flesh can die. Spirit cannot. There was no blood in the body of Jesus. What raised Jesus from the dead? Spirit raised him, the Spirit of God. Mt 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. God is in Jesus he is now Spirit, he can not die. That is why he has all power. That is why he is both High Priest and sacrifice: Ac 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Lord (Jehavoh), Christ (Messiah) A look to Revelations shows this chronology: Re 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. "and which was" God never was, God can not die. A mathmatical approach(Transitive Property): If A equals B and if C equals B then A equals C Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. If LORD, Jehavoh equals saviour Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; and Jesus Christ equals Saviour Then LORD equals Jesus Christ Jesus was flesh before the cross and Spirit after the cross: Flesh: Mt 26:11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. Jesus will not always be with us. Only 2 chapters later in Matthew, Spirit: Mt 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. There was no blood in the body. No blood, no life of the flesh. Before you ask, I am not a Jehavoh's Witness, I am Apostolic. Praise the Lord! Norm |

197 | Verse proving the earth is a sphere | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 107172
If it's PI you want. PI you will get. 1Ki 7:23 And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about. PI is the circumference of a circle divided by the diameter. Using the information from the quoted scripture above, that would give a result of 3, 30/10. However, if we delve into the Hebrew words used we find something very interesting, specifically for the word line. If we look this verse up in Strong's Concordance the word line has three numbers: line [06957] (8675) [06961] The number in the middle, 8675 tells about the other 2. Basically, what has happened in such a case is the original writer used an unusual form of the word. Translators kept the unusual form, but also added the usual form of the word. I am glad they did. 06961 or qaveh is the unusual form of the word line. You will find it is used only three times in the Bible. 06957 or qav is the usual form found 21 times. The Hebrews did not have separate characters for numbers and letters. Characters in their langauge represented both numbers and letters. If we take the ratio of the gematriacal value of each form of the word line, qaveh being 111 and qav being 106 111/106 gives the ratio 1.0471698113207547169811320754717 Multiply that by the original ratio from the circumference to diameter, 3 and you get: 3.1415094339622641509433962264151 That is PI correct to 4 decimal places. Praise the Lord! Norm P.S. Here is an online Strong's Concordance I find very useful: http://www.blueletterbible.org/search.html |
