142 | Is Jesus the Almighty? | John 3:16 | TheFinalSQL | 112338
"Are you saying that you do not believed that there is Father and the Holy Spirit?" No, I am saying exactly what I wrote. Doctine means teaching. The trinity doctrine is teaching that I do not believe in. Jesus only, meaning Jesus is the only one that can save you. Yes, I see Jesus crying out to God on the cross, they are not one and the same.(then) That does not mean I have to believe in the trinity doctrine. Praise the Lord! Norm Praise the Lord! Norm |

We do not have a mistaken view of the trinity. We do not believe in the trinity. That is not to say we do not believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. It is the trinity doctrine we do not believe in. Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Praise the Lord! Norm |

146 | Is Jesus the Almighty? | John 3:16 | TheFinalSQL | 112233
Time does not stand still. Just because there were separate beings then, does not mean that there are now. Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. If you want to continue that there are three beings then the Father and the Holy Spirit have no power because it was all given to Jesus. What name does the Holy Spirit come in? Jesus, John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Who is the father of Jesus? Holy Spirit, Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Then there is the subject question no one has answered is Jesus the Almighty? Praise the Lord! Norm |

147 | Is Jesus the Almighty? | John 3:16 | TheFinalSQL | 112227
I believe in God and the Holy Spirit. I do not believe in the trinity doctrine. The trinity doctrine is a man made teaching that is not found in the bible. No one in the bible is baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are all baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, hence where the term Jesus only comes from. Meaning Jesus only can save you. Look at John 3:16 as the subject verse for this thread. Who does it say to believe in? Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Praise the Lord! Norm |

148 | Is Jesus the Almighty? | John 3:16 | TheFinalSQL | 112207
Can anyone except God call himself the Almighty? The following verse is in red in the NASB. Jesus said it: Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." I do not believe in the trinity doctrine. I believe in Jesus only. Praise the Lord! Norm |

149 | Can God die? | John 3:16 | TheFinalSQL | 112160
"Would you say that Jesus was sinless His entire life on earth?" Yes, Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Do you believe in the virgin birth of Jesus? Yes, Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. This is the point at which I believe Jesus is God: Philippians 2:8-9 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Just a bit of background of myself. I grew up in a Trinity church, the doctrine is definately not foreign to me. Later I began attending a Friends church, a subset, if you will, of the Quakers. This is in my younger life, from birth until age 18. I never really felt anything of God in these churches and once I started going to college I quit going altogether unless my mom asked me and it was a special occasion. In my mind I deemed the church experience nothing more than a social gathering. Fast forward six years. My neighbor across the street asked if I would attend church with her. I said I would. I would like to say she was nice enough to ask so I was nice enough to go, and have said that, but looking back I refused to go with others when they asked. So I am not sure why I went. Upon entering this church I sat down in Sunday School, and before anyone really said anything to me I thought to myself "I am home" My entire life changed to say the least. THANK YOU JESUS!!! Now I am Apostolic, I do my best to follow the Apostles Doctrine, Acts 2:42 7 times he says, I like that: Psalms 66:1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Psalms 81:1 Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. Psalms 95:1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Psalms 95:2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. Psalms 98:4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Psalms 98:6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King. Psalms 100:1 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. --- Psalms 150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD. Praise the Lord! Norm |

150 | Can God die? | John 3:16 | TheFinalSQL | 112153
Can God die? John 4:24 God is a Spirit... Thomas calls Jesus God after the cross. Before the cross Jesus tells the Apostles he will not always be with them. (Mt 26:11) God is always with us is he not? After the cross he will always be with them (Mt 28:20) The Word was there in the beginning, Jesus was not. The Word was made Jesus (John 1:14) The Word is God. God manifested himself in his son. But after the cross God exhalted Jesus by entering that dead body and raising it from the dead. Praise the Lord! Norm |

151 | Is not Jesus the Almighty? | John 3:16 | TheFinalSQL | 112149
Is not Jesus the Almighty? Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. This verse is Jesus speaking and he says he is the Almighty. Tara, if you want to speak of Jesus prior to the cross, I agree with you. Jesus was not born God. Mary is not the mother of God and can not give birth to God. Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Jesus Christ exhalted, after the cross, is God. God gave Jesus his name, Jehovah, notice this verse in Philippians 2.9, its starts with Wherefore, meaning because of the prior verse. He already had the name Jesus from birth, he was given the name above every name Jehovah because of Phl 2.8 Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Praise the Lord! Norm |

152 | Does God Say No For Greater Good? | Heb 2:14 | TheFinalSQL | 111809
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. Praise the Lord! Norm |

Here are a few scriptures that may assist you: Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Jer 23:6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Zec 6:12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD Praise the Lord! 155 | What does Scripture mean by no works? | John 3:5 | TheFinalSQL | 111408
I seen what you wrote in other posts in this thread. I like how you worded it. Water baptism alone, does not save us. If it did, we could save our selves or throw somebody in the water and they would be saved. How would you answer Peter's question (Acts 10:47) Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Praise the Lord! Norm |

156 | What does Scripture mean by no works? | John 3:5 | TheFinalSQL | 111346
I also appreciate the dupe as I was about to answer the other until I noticed that it is addressd to Colin. First of all by works the scripture is refering to works of the law: Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Water baptism is not a work of the law. It was established by Peter. Lets look at this in chronological order. You can read the entire section of this scripture but here is the most important: Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Notice Jesus says will give, a future event. This brings two questions: When did Jesus give the keys? What did Peter bind and loose on earth? Keys given: Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, The keys are an understanding of the scriptures, which at the time was the Old Testament. Now to find what was loosed and what was bound we have to look at the teaching of the Apostles. The first four gospels are the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. The book of Acts is the life and ministry of the Apostles and it is here we find their teaching. Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. As of Acts 2:42 the teaching or doctrine is given. We are told they continued stedfastly in the doctrine of the Apostles, thus, whatever they taught can be found in the previous verses. In these preceeding verses we see Peter preaching, starting with: Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: And ending with: Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Then came acknowledge to the first step of salvation: Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this,... You have to hear the Word Continuing Acts 2:37 ...they were pricked in their heart,... Step 2, Conviction/Faith/Belief ...and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Now, Peter binds on earth: Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent,... Step 3: Repent, turn from your ways to Gods ways ...and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,... Step 4a is the doctrine of baptisms (See Hebrew 6:1,2) consisting of two parts. The order of the two parts is irrelevant. If you want your sins remitted you must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. ...and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Step 4b Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. John 3:8 tells us everyone born of the Spirit will make a sound. I've seen many arguments that water and spirit are the same, or everywhere water is mentioned it's some metaphor or something for spirit. I do not know why so many fight the water. All we have to do is look at the inclusion of the Gentiles to see water and spirit are not one in the same: Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. At this time they had not been baptized in the water. Why is the order different than the day of Pentecost?(Acts 2) Because the Jews NEVER would have baptized the Gentiles in the water. God had to show teh Jews he was including the Gentiles in the plan of salvation. Look at their reaction: Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. How did they know they received this most precious gift? Ac 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, If the water and spirit are the same then they would be done. But they are not: Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Acts 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Whether anyone likes it or not, that is what Peter bound on earth. Peter did this with the authority Jesus gave him and with full knowledge of the scriptures. Thank you Jesus! Praise the Lord! Norm |

Have you spoke in tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance? This is not the gift of tongues. Please let me repeat that, this is not the gift of tongues.
