181 | Why couldn't astrologers interperet it? | Dan 5:25 | Chusarcik | 80302
Thanks, that information is very interesting. I can't figure out why the locals would not have understood Aramic if they spoke it. I just read the form of Aramic it was written vertically rather than horizontally and this confused the locals. Maybe their current form of Aramic was written horizontally? Maybe information that detailed is just not available to us?

185 | Does this make pretrib rapture unlikely | Dan 7:25 | Chusarcik | 70523
Daniel 7:25 says the saints will be handed over to the anti Christ for a period of time, times and half a time. It looks like that means 3 and 1/2 half years of the 7 year tribulation. Whether it's referring to the first or second 3 and 1/2 years, if the saints are there for the anti Christ to persecute, doesn't this verse rule out a pre tribulation rapture? Also, is there any though on whether this 3 1/2 years is the first or second part of the tribulation? thanks, Chusarcik |

186 | How can we know the saints are only Jews | Dan 7:25 | Chusarcik | 70549
EdB, Thanks for reminding me that Old Testament prophecies were directed to a Jewish audience and for pointing out that it refers to the last 31/2 years. I'm still confused, though about why the verse says "the saints", which I thought in the Bible usually referred to saved people in general. I'm only in the beginning of my study so excuse me if these questions are ignorant, but so far, whenever Israel or the Jews are mentioned it is a term that specifically applies to them, such as the 144,000 sealed Jews in Revelation, etc. If you have any additional comments to help me understand how the term "the saints" in this instance refers to Jews only I would much appreciate it. Thanks, Chusarcik |

187 | Agan,does it mean saints are Christians | Dan 7:25 | Chusarcik | 70574
EdB, But doesn't your second answer indicate it COULD be talking about Christians in general as I first took it to mean rather than the Jews specifically? Thanks again for your comments; They are much appreciated, Chusarcik |

188 | Please expound on your previous comments | Dan 7:25 | Chusarcik | 70576
CDBJ, I am only beginning to study Revelation and Daniel. I am trying not to be influenced by any current opinions about the rapture, but rather form my own opinion by slow and careful study. So far I am finding nothing that proves the Christians will be taken away before Jesus' 2nd coming. I may change my mind by the time I finish the study but this is what I think I've learned so far. This idea is so against the current train of thought I'm afraid to even discuss it with fellow church members for fear I'll be considered a heretic(or a lunatic). You seem to have studied more than me and still see holes in a pre tribulation or mid tribulation rapture so I'd be very interested in what you DO believe concerning the rapture.I would much appreciate what you have to say on the subject. thanks, Chusarcik |

Yes, I agree. I don't have a thesis yet, as I said, I'm only in the beginning of the study and I think it's good for me to seek opinions of others who've studied more to make sure I'm on the right track. Thankyou,Chusarcik.

191 | Are you confirming or correcting me? | Dan 7:25 | Chusarcik | 70610
Emmaus, Thanks for your response. I read the commentary and the verses you suggested concerning the end times. Did you suggest these to say you think the saints in Daniel 7:23 are saved people in general? Just making sure I'm following your train of thought here. Chusarcik |

194 | Why 62 and 7 for total of 69 weeks? | Dan 9:25 | Chusarcik | 83180
In Daniel Chapter 9, 69 weeks of the 70 week prophecy are broken down as 62 weeks and 7 weeks and one week to make up the 70 weeks. I understand the order of events to fulfill the prophecy and understand the last week is the 7 year tribulation but I am confused on why the first 69 weeks are broken down as 62 weeks and 7 weeks. Can anyone answer this? Chusarcik
195 | Why 62 and 7 for total of 69 weeks? | Dan 9:25 | Chusarcik | 83188

196 | clarify why69 weeks stated as62and7weeks | Dan 9:25 | Chusarcik | 83408
I looked at this answer again and I'm still confused about why it would be broken down into 62 weeks and 7 weeks. If it took 49 years to rebuild Jerusalem, wouldn't it be broken down into 49 and 20 weeks? Can anyone clarify this or is it just one of those things Bible scholars don't agree on? thanks, Chusarcik |

199 | Who violent men and what are they doing | Dan 11:14 | Chusarcik | 84062
Daniel 11:14 says violent men of your people wiill try to gain independence from Egypt, but will fail. It says they will exalt themselves in fulfillment of the vision, but they will fail. Can anyone shed some light on who this group of violent ment was and what it meant when they said they will exalt themselves in fulfillment of the vision. What vision? Thanks, Chusarcik
200 | Who are"violent men of your own people? | Dan 11:14 | Chusarcik | 84070
Emmaus, Thanks for your answer. If this group of people was the Ptolemies and Seleucids why are they referred to as "violent men among YOUR OWN people. Daniel is being addressed here and it sounds as though it's talking about a sub group of Daniel's people from Jerusalem? And I still don't understand what vision this group of viloent people is trying to fulfill? My study Bible doesn't have any information on the topic Can you clarify? Chusarcik |
