Hello Grace and Truth, Continue as long as you can but it as you have already found out, it is an uphill battle. The forum has had all they could take of me so my time is up. You will probably be next, if it hasn't already happened. The ones in the forum say they are trying to search the truth and find the truth and want to follow the truth but they don't want to hear the truth. Good luck with your fight and keep up the good work for God and His word. Raven |

164 | The sinless sacrifice; He is holy | Heb 7:27 | RAVEN | 35701
I am not sure of the question you are asking but I will give you briefly what information I know about the two versions. The NKJV is derived from the 1611 authorized version. It was written to bridge the gap with the changes of the English language. I have a KNJV and from the preface it also seems that time was also spent reviewing some of the manuscripts of the Septuagint (Greek)of the Old Testament and the Latin Vulgate as well as manuscripts from the Dead Sea Caves. I know even less about the NASB because I do not own one though I would like to. The NASB has taken the research one step further in that besides reviewing all of the above resources it went back to the earliest recorded documents we have of the bible and retranslated them. These two versions and the 1611 KJV are by far the mosty acurate translations of the bible. As for the verse you ask about it says if you read in context: KNJV Hebrews 7 Greatness of the New Priest 20 And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath 21(for they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said to Him: "The LORD has sworn And will not relent, "You are a priest forever[1] According to the order of Melchizedek"'),[2] 22by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant. 23Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing. 24But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. 25Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. 26For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; 27who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people's, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. 28For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever. Verse 26 where it says "For such a High Priest was fitting for us," this is speaking of Jesus and thus it should be capitalized. This is my opinion though. And since the NASB doesn't capitalize it then I guess they know something I don't. But it really doesn't matter because the context of the scripture is not changed. Now for the other scripture you cited, verse 27 reads "who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins". Again if you read this in context you can see that this is speaking about Jesus. If you are questioning if this is saying Jesus sinned then you are not clear on the understanding of the scripture. This verse is saying unlike the priest of old who had sins and had to cleanes themselves first before they could offer up sacrifice for the rest, Christ had NO sin for it says: Hebrews 4 15For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. If I have taken your question the wrong way please reply so that maybe I can give you a better answer. Raven |

165 | pre-christ, where are they? | Heb 11:16 | RAVEN | 47197
Read Hebrews 11 Hebrews 11 By Faith We Understand The Honor Roll of the Faithful 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11 The Heavenly Hope 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them,[3] embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 166 | Andrew please explain? | 1 John 1:9 | RAVEN | 37423
Hello Andrew, I would like for you to clear something up for me. In your response to godschild 73 you wrote, "If you have not been born again then ask Christ to save you from you sins, be baptize and continue to live after the scriptures." Why did you say be baptized? It is my understanding from the rest of the forum that baptism is not needed. Even though I do not side with the rest of the forum for I believe that baptism is essential for salvation if done the right way and with the understanding of what the person is doing. I would appreciate it if you would tell me which side you are on since in your reply you mentioned baptism. Thanks, Raven |

167 | Andrew please explain? | 1 John 1:9 | RAVEN | 37597
Hello Andrew, Let me see if I can understand your angle on baptism. You say that the only reason a person is baptised is because they are saved. Is this correct? So then you adhere to the belief that one is saved be "accepting Christ" and baptism is just for show, is this correct? Then lets look at this, If I ask you to cut my grass and rake my leaves for this twenty dollars, would you have the twenty before you cut and raked or after? I think you see where I am going with this. Lets analize Acts 2:38. It says "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins". So they were to "repent" (cut grass)first, then "be baptised" (rake leaves)second, for the "remission of sins" (twenty dollars). Can you not see that a person is not in a saved state until the act of baptism is completed? The idea that baptism shows something to the world is just plan wrong. Baptism is for God and thats it, the world doesn't care about baptism. You see it is necessary for you to leave out two verses that tie the necessity of baptism together with salvation to try and make your point, even though you have twisted the meaning of Acts 2:38. And those are Mark 16:15-16 and 1 Peter 3:21. Mark 16 15And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He who believes "and is" baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 1 Peter 3 21There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Its funny, the word "repent" isn't in Mark 16:16, but we all know that we have to. Yet in both scriptures Mk 16:16 and Acts 2:28 the word baptism is there bigger than life and the world still wants to ignore it. And in 1 Peter 3:21 it says "answer of a good conscience toward God" not to the world! I tell you with this kind of thinking, that one is saved before baptism a person hits himself going and coming because they insist on ignoring what the bible has said. And as far as the Lords Supper the bible teaches if you read on that the Apostles of Christ meet on the first day of the week to break bread not when they felt like it. Acts 20 Ministering at Troas 7 Now on the "first day of the week", when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight. Which corresponds to the first day of the week when Christ had risen from the tomb. Matthew 28 The Risen Christ (1) 1 Now after the Sabbath, as the "first day of the week" began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. However we being 21st century Christians should follow the examples of Jesus and His apostles and it says, Acts 2 42And they "continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine" and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. I hope that I have been able to encourage you to rethink your stance on baptism and on the Lord's Supper. It is important that we stay with what the scripture teaches or else we are worshiping in vain. Matthew 15 9And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."'[1] Your friend in Christ, Raven |

168 | Can you lose your salvation? | Revelation | RAVEN | 45199
Hello Farout, You have miss spoken my friend. There is such a thing as Apostacy. If it were not so the Lord God would not give us warnings to remain faithul. You need to rethink this by reading just these few out of many verse that point to a person who has and can fall away. Keep in mind though that we can be saved once and for all, but its conditional. As it states in,1 John 1 7But "IF" we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. The word "if" is a small word that holds a lot of weight and "if" we overlook it we can loose our soul. 1 Corinthians 10 12Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 1 Timothy 4 The Great Apostasy Be Faithful to Your Spiritual Calling 1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 2 Peter 2 20For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit,"[1] and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire." Also my friend you say that salvation is faith in Christ plus nothing. I tell you that if a little child is trapped in a burning building and the fireman tells him to jump out the window, I will catch you, even though he might have faith if doesn't jump he's going to burn! Jesus said, Matthew 7 I Never Knew You (1) 21 "Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who "DOES" the will of My Father in heaven. I tell you that faith plus nothing is a dead faith. James 2 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. You say "is Christ not able to keep me?" Yes He is able if you were a robot! But you are not! You are a free will agent that is able to do as you want to do. This is a week argument to say "is Christ not able to keep me?". All this question does is put the blame for you or whoever else feels this way on God, when God has already done His part. He supplied the "grace" He supplied His Son. And now you want to put the blame at Gods feet if your lost! Obedience to the will of God is the only way one can be saved! 2 Thessalonians 1 8in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who DO NOT OBEY the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
