And what do you find wrong with Acts 10 and 19. Was their case special from all the others. What about the millions God is filling today that obey Acts 2:38. If you was in the court of Law you only need two witnesses.
162 | some people say you must speak in tongue | 1 Cor 12:4 | jcsav | 144061
When one receives the Gift of the Holy Ghost (baptised with the Spirit) they speak in tongues. That is what Simon saw in Acts 8:18. That do not mean that they have received the "GIFT" of speaking in tongues. The have, however, received the Gift of the HOLY GHOST (SPIRIT).

Hank, I presumed, because you are a Leader and Teacher on thei forum. Enlignen You? How can I, seeing that you are already, enlighten. How can I cause you to understand, seeing that you reject instruction and reproof. Tell me, what kind of standard methods of teaching can overcome that. What ability or skill can a teacher posses to violate God's commandments and statues? Everyone who comes to God is taught by God.Can you understand that Scripture?
164 | some people say you must speak in tongue | 1 Cor 12:4 | jcsav | 144070
Paul was speaking to the already establish Church at Corinth. Not individuals reading his letters. You can not simply claim the Holy Ghost because you feel you have the right to do so. Jesus, is the one who baptises with the Spirit.

If they don't believe, they probably will never believed. Hog wash. What do you think the Gospel is for. You think I have always believe. You don't stop doing the work of your Father. But, you want me to stop doing the work of mine. I am not going to remain on the forum, if that is what concern you.
166 | some people say you must speak in tongue | 1 Cor 12:4 | jcsav | 144075
No, the Corinthian Church had that along with Paul. I Cor. 12:13 do not say YOU have that. And you are right, one of us is very much in error. Paul is speaking of the Body of Christ. Though the Church of Corinthians is long gone. His body did not go anywhere, it has not ceased. I have not contradicted Scripture. Scripture have contradiced you.

I am, to the point of staking my soul on it. It is my wish that God, also bless you.

To you it is semantics. To me it is the Power of God. Notice, Searcher, after all that, finally, got it! He came up with a Scripture that was more to the point than the ones I had used (Glory be to God). That's what made it all worth it. And just as I was right about the believer, So am I right about other things.
169 | some people say you must speak in tongue | 1 Cor 12:4 | jcsav | 144128
1. Who is the verse speaking to and what does it mean in context? It is speaking to all believers who had ALREADY Repented and been Baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. According to Acts 2:38. (You on the other hand have not done so, if you had, you would understand my words) By this, you would have been baptised into the Body of Christ. You would have also spoke in tongues as the Spirit of God would have given you utterance. 2. How exactly has scripture contradicted you? The Holy Ghost do not agree with what you are teaching. How do I know? Because I have indeed received the Holy Ghost by the baptism of Jesus. I did not claim it on my own. And he do speak and that means, not just in tongues. You have a form of Godliness. But it is not according to Power. Did you know that in the presence of anyone that is part of the body of Christ can use his name to fill individuals with the Holy Ghost. And with that name can cause those with demons to manifest themselves (They (demons) even speak to you ). You can also case them out using that name "JESUS CHRIST". |

Hank, you just don't get it, do you. I did not get a victory. Everyone profits from the Truth. God is glorified. The only one that is mad, is the Devil.

I understand better than you, because of what I have been telling you all along. I have the Holy Ghost. Do you think you know yourself better than He. You know what Discernment is? It is one of the gifts of the Spirit. You know as well as I, that I did not lie.
173 | some people say you must speak in tongue | 1 Cor 12:4 | jcsav | 144211
You stated in Post 143984 ".....so it is possible to believe, and not be saved." That is your statement isn't it. And, if not, It changes nothing, except my joy, of you having been enlighten.
174 | some people say you must speak in tongue | 1 Cor 12:4 | jcsav | 144213
EdB, Now Searher56 says that I was mistaken in what he said. But the post is 143598 in his ps. Thats no surprise. But the Words of the True Gospel is indeed, the Power of God and so are their usage. You keep using the word "semantics" as if it has some power, but it do not. |

Hank, it is from me. Isn't it reasonable to request which post you are referring to. BradK toke the position of postulate in post 144078. It was under this premise that I answered him. And under this premise, what right do he have to be insulted. However, I would not have answered him in such a faction otherwise.

You have so much to learn about tongues and the order of Church services in Pentecostal Churches. They follow 1 Cor 14 for the Purposes that Paul intended. Paul never said not to pray out loud together.
177 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140224
What the Paul is saying is that not everyone has the "Gift of Tongues". These individuals can speak at will and the Spirit is subject to them. The individual that receives the gift of the Holy Ghost, also speaks in other tongues at the filling. This do not mean they have the "Gift of Tongues" but that they have indeed received the "Holy Ghost (Spirit) You see this in the book of Acts. This is not subject to the individual. This is the Baptism of the Spirit or born of the Spirit, that Jesus spoke of. Paul is instructing those with the gift of tongues on how to behave in service and even gives the reason why. Who can instruct God on when to Baptise someone with the Holy Ghost? Hope this helps.
178 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140257
That is what I said. Read what I wrote again. The gift of tongues is under the speakers control. The speaker when they are being filled with the Holy Ghost is under Gods. That why they speak as the spirit of God gives them utterance.
179 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140270
Will you please tell me where in Scripture I can find,"We are saved when we ask God in our hearts, repenting of our sins, and believing in Christ for the remission of our sins." One of the places that comes from is me. But I but it this way. You must be born again of Water and Spirit. If you want to receive the Holy Ghost you must obey Acts 2:38. |
