I have not done so. However, individuals do seek the Holy Spirit whether it says so or not. Who did I tell to seek for the Holy Spirit? I told them to obey what Pete said in Acts 2:38 and there would be no need for this discussion. This is a bible forum, not a Church. We are discussing "Tongues" because of a question that was Asked (If anyone can remember what that was). However, Martin Luther said it best: "If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the Truth of God except precisely that little point that the world and the devil are at the moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages is where the loyalty of the soldier is proved, and to be steady on all the battlefield besides is merely flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point." |

169 | Is praying aloud together Biblical? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140369
Salvation is made available for everyone. But if you keep it up, you could be right. I never said I had the same spiritual discernment as the apostle Paul. Do not say something that I did not say What I said was that I could tell the difference between the gift of tongues been spoken and the tongues been spoken when one receives the Holy Ghost as the spirit of God give utterance. You can talk about me all you wish. But Please do not call the things God do, chaotic disorder which would be the case in the latter.

John's Baptism was for repentance. That is why they had to be re-baptised. The Baptism here is not for repentance, but for the remission of sin. And you are right again the baptism of Phillip is the same.
172 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140366
I agree with most of what you said. Except realize that God do not need anyone around to baptize you with the Holy Ghost. I know an individual that recieved the Holy Ghost when he was singing unto the Lord while fishing. He later came to Church and no one believed him. He then while at the alter calling unon the Lord was refilled. And he said yes, that was it.

The bible also does not say that they was saved. It also does not say that they recieved the Holy Ghost. It says they was added. It did not say that they completed the process in Acts 2:38. A good excample if Simon. He was a beleiver Acts 8:13. But, do you see where the Apostles laid hands on him. Do you really believe that he received the Holy Ghost (Spirit) with the condition of his heart?
174 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140361
Could you please tell me what is wrong with Acts 2:38. Which I believe is the most direct and clear Passages in the bible as to what one must do the recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). I have been told to "believe" and you shall recieve it . I have been told to accept Christ and I will recieve it. Confess with your mouth and believe in you heart. But no one seems to want to believe Peter in Acts 2:38

179 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140349
I believe that if you receive the Holy Spirit the outward manifestation will take care of it self. After all Peter did not preach speaking in tongues, he did preach the True Gospel. And as a result people did recieve the Holy Spirit. But, you are right, you can't be saved without receiving the Holy Spirit.
180 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140343
What happens when one receive the Holy Spirit. Is there a outward manifestation? What happens when one if "Baptised of the Holy Spirit" if there an outward manifestation. I have never heard anyone make a distinction before.
