141 | Are you truly searching for a prophet? | Job | Jensen | 32925
OH! ..My goodness!… Dancing.. Dear Friend Charis….You are reading way too much between the lines. There are no between the lines to be found. I am an honest, up-front, no strings to my Faith kinda guy. I have put the question too simply for many of the followers of this thread. I can not make my position on ACCURACY, and accuracy only more clear…… OR…. You have avoided it out of fear of the Lord. I don’t know. I, for the life of me, can not understand why Christians are so liberal. Oh…not in their politics but in their Faith. What’s the point? Demand conservative values, be tolerant on Gods Word…..??? (:-)Please be open to the possibility that perhaps life in Japan has had an unintended or unexpected influence :-)) Dear friend charis, we must defend the Faith, set Biblical parameters as a Church. Not Churches. Accuracy. Accuracy when someone says “Thus sayeth the Lord…” How can we compromise? God Bless….Jensen |

142 | Truly searching for a prophet? | Job | Jensen | 32927
Dear charis...You wrote in referring to contemporary prophets.... " (a)And the words they speak will always be in accord with the Bible, and (b)be harmonious with the Spirit that speaks to your heart." To (a)I reply: And if they are not should we still consider them a prophet? And to (b) I reply: There is only One Spirit that speaks to my heart. And if the words are not harmonious should we still consider them a prophet? We will never get closer on this topic I'm afraid. But I know that we will once again find ourseleves in agreement :-) God Bless....Jensen |

143 | Dancing? | Job | Jensen | 33021
Dear charis...You Wrote... "In case you did not hear me, I AGREE WITH YOU."....Finally. Thank you. I had begun to think that I lost all ability to communicate clearly. At least I'm not going as crazy as I had begun to think :-) And I want to thank you for the gentle tone of your reply. I am not familiar with the scope of the prophets’ role. I was focused on one thing: Those who make the claim that God speaks through them in one way or another. That being settled I will now become more familiar with this Gift. And, I will beware of the false prophet, and the false teacher, and the preacher who adds to the Bible, and I will increase my awareness or ability to see the Enemy for all that he is. Thanks for holding on. For defending the Faith is a constant in the world, especially today. God Bless….Jensen |

144 | Are Modern Prophets Always Accurate ? | Job | Jensen | 33022
You are right!...God Bless....Jensen
145 | Is this a false prophet? | Job | Jensen | 33023
Dear prophet ezra brown….. So prophesying is not necessarily inspired by God. I did not know that. And that is very reassuring since I have heard and read some pretty stupid prophecy. And when the prophet announces “Thus sayeth the Lord…” he/she is always speaking with divine inspiration. And then you would agree that the prophet who claims divine inspiration and is proven wrong, by circumstance, or condition, or the Bible itself, is a false prophet and should not be feared (known) any further. Am I correct? God Bless….Jensen |

Ezra…Another suggestion…..Punctuation :-) It is difficult when sentences and thoughts run together.
147 | Seeking a prophet, or not? | Job | Jensen | 33105
Dear charis...You wrote... "Do you demand the same degree of perfection from preachers and teachers of the Word? i.e. 100 percent 'accuracy' and perfection. Or do you simply deny that God speaks through them?"....To which I reply...the latter. Fraud is fraud. I'm not impressed with a man who says he is a prophet and whom is sometimes accurate. Sometimes agrees with the Bible; Sometimes speaks the truth even if in love. Sometimes gives edification while at other times makes fale accusations. There was a "prophet" in a local church that told a teenage congregant that God wanted him to shun pornography. This man of God did this in front of the congregation. The young man was not guilty, but the prophet of God knew better. It led to the young mans suicide. It was a pretty big story locally. It provided a lot of pause in the Christian community. You can have all the fun you want in the church hall with each other. Lets not have any standards at all. Why bother with Pauls' letter(s) concerning church conduct, or the 'suggestions' for choosing leaders. I really have had enough of this topic. In the future do not tell me that you agree with me and then backtrack. It is confusing. Take a stand. This debate never was about anything other than how to discern a false prophet. I'm sorry we again disagree. I thought we kissed and made up :-) God Bless....Jensen PS. No...I am NOT seeking a prophet, never was, never will be, since all who make the claim to have the Gift are acknowledged apparently without question. Not me. HocusPocusChristianity is not in my reading of the Scriptures. TEST all things my friend. |

148 | Dancing? | Job | Jensen | 33110
Dear EProphet...You Wrote.... "Just a simple man, serving a mighty God.".... How humble you are. It was obvious that you were a simple (humble?) man since you did not answer, at all, anything that I wrote to you. That is simple. No answer, no defense is simple. And you wrote...." Maybe if I were better at debate I could have made my point more clear." ....But you made no points...you gave up the debate. That is fine with me and when someone asks you for the reason for the Hope that you have you can just say "God Bless You" which is far, far better than dancing around the issue of the debate. I actually admired your non-answer. It was honest and to the point. (To wit: I can not defend my position and I will not try to do so by compromising my integrity.) That is honest. You may have a supportable position but there is no harm in admitting that you do not know how to support it. I expect your "debating skills" to improve and I really look forward to your future posts and your fresh input. These debates are fun while also serious at times...nothing, repeat nothing is personal. How could it be when using such a medium as EMail Forums. We are all in the shadows to some degree I guess. "Nothing missing, nothing broken" sounds like what we say in my culture "No Harm Done" and if so then "Let It Be" :-) God Bless....Jensen |

149 | Are these not prophets? | Job | Jensen | 33112
Personal Note to Searcher...... You may know that I asked the question that began this particular thread. I am going to hand off the ball to you on this topic. I think my sometimes gruff manner prohibits some from seeing the simple truth of what my (our) position is. I am burned out. Temporarily I pray :-) Carry On Searcher !!! :-) |

150 | Let's crucify Ezra Brown | Job | Jensen | 33222
Dear SRN....I miss the point of your question. Perhaps a more direct question would help. God Bless....Jensen |

151 | Is this a false prophet? | Job | Jensen | 33224
Dear SRN....You wrote... "I believe a person saying they are a prophet etc in some sort of illusion is not a false prophet." What? Is that a question? Do you know that the sentence makes no sense? Are you agreeing, disagreeing or just keeping in touch :-) I agree that false prophets are all over Sunday morning TV. They are also allover our church. I can tell if a person is a false prophet by the nature of their words. If what the prophet says is clearly unbiblical, he is a false prophet. If the prophet speaks of a future event that proves to be untrue, he is a false prophet. Simple tests for a false prophet abound. Really!! There was a "test" that was circulated among the churches that claimed to determine what Gift you had. I do not know the origin of the test but perhaps you have seen it, or took it. It asked several questions that the answers to would evaluate the Christian to determine his Gift. Taking a test to determine your Gift does not seem to be of God....to me. But weak minded, intellectually lazy Christians are only too happy to embrace what I call "HocusPocusChristianity" and all Christianity suffers because our message of salvation can not be heard above the roar of laughter. TEST all things. Do not listen to false prophets. If they are wrong once, just once, then perhaps they are blessed with a different Gift. But if they claim to speak for God,....well, they must be right. God Bless....Jensen |

152 | Is "declared unto him...anointing" Bible | Job | Jensen | 33225
Dear Ezra...You Wrote to Searcher.... "you are the biggest joke i have ever heard" ...Now I understand your role of self-proclaimed prophet. If you can not defend your position,....well,... just call people names and then ask Gods blessings upon them so that you will be somehow absolved of your lack of manners. Arrogance is a characteristic of the intellectually lazy. Just defend your position and know that you do not have the inside track to God. We are all priests in that sense. We do not need you to come before us. You have demonstrated that you do not have a clue on this topic, only emotion. Renew your mind. God Bless....Jensen |

153 | Two prophets? | Job | Jensen | 33232
Dear charis…Try again to understand the opposing position. Please. Linguistic Gymnastics are beneath you. You know the point Searcher is making. Why the Dance? Are you afraid of the weakness of the position you hold: That a prophet of God is still a prophet of God even if he declares “Thus saith the Lord…” and is shown to be wrong, incorrect, off the mark, unbiblical. The position is to me absurd. If you claim to speak for God, you better be right. What happens to the false prophet, the one who leads people astray? (Revelation) No other ministerial Gift makes that claim of speaking for God and you know it. Not a teacher, a pastor, an evangelical, or apostle. Even Paul took pains do write to Timothy that some of what he(Paul) was saying was of himself “…and not the Lord”. Would you consider a person who claimed the Gift of Evangelism and never, ever, led anyone in the direction to the Lord to be a true Evangelist (or are we not to judge?) And the Pastor who never, ever, led a church regardless of size but claimed to be a Pastor and that was proof enough that he had the Gift of Pastor? In my past life I would have said “Put up or shut up” but today I say TEST all things and RENEW your mind :-) Please do not seize only upon a single sentence found herein for a reply. Please speak to the spirit of the post if at all. What is disconcerting is that I once thought we were in agreement on this fine point of this debate. But if we can not agree on this single point of accuracy there is really little else to say. All doctrine is up for grabs. Christianity makes no stand. We can argue on endlessly on every point, regardless of Scriptural authority. We can make it up as we go along like a new age religion. We can even claim “secret” knowledge from now on. We impress not our Lord, and we play the part of the fool on the world stage. We search for God and find ourselves. Sad really. You know that I do not attack you on a personal basis. How could I? I have too much respect for you. But your position is…..well,……missing the mark. (And I think you know it) God Bless….Jensen |

And upon this reasonble post...I retire God Bless....Jensen |

155 | Two prophets? | Job | Jensen | 33289
Dear charis...Thanks for the thought provoking debate. I see that we both have embraced the post of Brian. That is good. We agree after all when someone else puts the case. Maybe we were talking past one another?? For my part, I misunderstood the difference between NT and OT prophets. Two seperate, distinct roles and characteristics. They are so different perhaps they should have two different names. Kind of like the name "apostle" NOT TO START THAT DEBATE PLEASE:-o You do know that Ezra is talking about the OT prophets of which he believes he is similar to. Till we meet again, I remain your brother in Christ God Bless....Jensen |

156 | Two prophets? | Job | Jensen | 33859
Of Course...You are forgiven. There was a misunderstanding.
157 | Let's crucify Ezra Brown | Job | Jensen | 33861
No...You misunderstood. Advice was being offered by myself and others as to how to comport oneself on the Forum. CAPS are seldom used except for emphasis. Puntuation helps to seperate sentences, and therefore it is easier for the reader to understand the thought that is being conveyed. Some will capitalize God or Lord to show respect for the name (Name) :-) No crucifiction intended :-) God Bless....Jensen |

158 | Is this a false prophet? | Job | Jensen | 33868
Thanks for your reply...Just one thing though. You wrote... "Any church giving a test is kind of going back to the origins of the word church - Circus" I know that you once heard that somewhere, but it wasn't true. The origin of the word "church" is not circus. "Church" has it's origins like this according to Websters Dictionary.... "Middle English chirche, from Old English cirice, ultimately from Late Greek kyriakon, from Greek, neuter of kyriakos of the lord, from kyrios lord, master; akin to Sanskrit KTra hero, warrior Date:before 12th century"..... ........so "church" has its origins in "Lord" Circus has its origin in the word which means "ring". "Latin, circle, circus— more at CIRCLE Date:14th century" Don't for one moment believe half the crap you here about our church. People will make up all kinds of things to bring even a little dishonor upon His Church. Defend the Faith and His church by testing all things. If it doen't sound right in your gut (Holy Spirit?) then check it out. Be in a position to defend the Faith, to give a reason for the Hope that we have. Your brother in Christ Jesus. God Bless....Jensen |

159 | what was taken from the angel? | Job 20:4 | Jensen | 22115
Dear Ruth30...Could these verses help. There seems to be no connection between and with the words in your question. Angel, sweet, taste, bitter, and stomach do not appear close to each other in the Bible except for the following.... JOB 20:4 "Surely you know how it has been from of old, ever since man was placed on the earth, JOB 20:12 "Though evil is sweet in his mouth and he hides it under his tongue, JOB 20:13 though he cannot bear to let it go and keeps it in his mouth, JOB 20:14 yet his food will turn sour in his stomach; it will become the venom of serpents within him. God Bless....Jensen |

160 | dose it say we can fly other planets | Ps 8:3 | Jensen | 20437
Dear Jessie*46...Welcome to the Forum....:-).... According to the verses below, we are to have rule over the works of God's hands. His works include the stars. He has given us the curiosty also:-) He invites us to study His creation of the stars, and we can best do that by going there. PS 8:3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, PS 8:4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? PS 8:5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. PS 8:6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet: God Bless....Jensen |
