121 | how do you understand rev | Revelation | Tamara Brewington | 203771
The word Revelation is Apocalypse in Greek, which means to unveil. John received this unveiling from an angel who received it from Jesus Christ. Revelation is broken into 7 parts; The Vision chapter 1, The Message To The Churchs chapters 2,3, A Revelation of Heavenly Vision chapters 4,5, God's Judgment on the Earth chapters 6-19, The Second Coming of Christ chapter 19, The 1,000 Year Millenial Kingdom chapter 29, The New Heaven and New Earth chapters 21-22. The characteristics of apolaypitic literature is that it includes synbolic discriptive language. Verse 1:19 gives us a picture of how the book is to be viewed, past; chapter 1-John writes about having been spoken to about the announcement of the revelation, present chapters 2,3 John writes to literal churchs a message for each in his present time, future chapters 4-21 John writes about events to happen in future. Next comes a book, actually a scroll, that no one can open except Jesus and in it are contained 7 seals of God's judgment on unbelievers sybolized as 7 trumpets that will be blown for real by angels at the beginning of each judgment to come; war, famine, death, martyrs, terror, the bottomless pit, army from the east, and the angels gathered to begin blowing the 7 trumpets of judgment, this is chapters 5-11. There is the woman who represents the bride of God the church and the baby is Jesus, there is the red dragon who is Satan, and there is the war in heaven between Arch-angel Michael and Satan the dragon and Satan is thrown down to earth for the second time forever(the first was in Daniel where he is described as the highest Cherubim)in chapter 12. There is the dragon, Satan on the sand of the sea (the multitudes of people on the earth) and the beast, the Anti-Christ comes up out of the sea (all the nations) and the Anti-Christ has all the characteristics of the nations (he was like a leopard and so on), and Satan gives the Anti-Christ his throne of power on earth and authority to rule the earth, then the Anti-Christ is killed and actully rises from the dead as a miracle to mock the power of Christ and the whole world is amazed and begins to worship the Ant-Christ, then the next beast arises on earth and this is the False Prophet who will testify of the Anti-Christ as God and he has all the authority and power of the first beast, this is chapter 13. There are the 144,000 real sealed human servants of God who are going to proclaim the gospel to the unbelivers. Then there are the 7 bowls of wrath; the giving of the mark to those who worship the Anti-Christ, the destruction of the sea by blood, the destruction of the rivers and springs by blood, the scorching of men on the erath by the sun, darkness over everything in the earthly kingdom of the Anti-Christ, the drying up of the river Euphrates to make way for the nations to come through for war against God, the greatest earhquake to ever come upon the earth, in chapter 16. Then comes the destruction of a real place on earth symbolically named Babylon where the Anti-Christ rules the earth from in chapters 18,19. Then comes the angels worshiping in heaven about the victory Jesus and God against the Anti-Christ and the whole world and there is the war that Christ will wage by Himself with all the raputured glorified saints from heaven looking on against the Anti-Christ, the False Prophet and the unbeleivers and the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet get thrown in the eternal lake of fire, in chapter 19. Satan gets bound for real and thrown in a pit for a thousand years for real and Christ sets up His 1,000 year Millenial Kingdom until He lets Satan out after 1,000 years, then Satan deceives the unsaved children of those who got saved during the Great Tribulation and wages war against Jesus and the saints (this includes regular people who got saved during the 1,000 years and the glorified raptured saint who come back to earth to rule with Jesus), Satan loses the battle and is thrown along with his followers into the eternal lake of fire and whoever's name is not found in the one book of life, but whose name is found in the many books of the damned will be thrown into the lake of fire at the Great White Throne Judgment, in chapter 21. Then God destroys the old earth and universe and remakes everything using what is left of what He destroys and there is a new heaven and a new earth, then a real city, New Jerusalem comes down to earth to replace the one that He destroyed and Jesus glory is so bright that it is the light of that city, consider the USA is 3,500 miles across, this new city is 1,500 miles across both width and breadth inside the city is the tree of life from the garden of Eden and the river of eternal life, then there is a parting message from John.

Romans 12:1 present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice... II Corinthians 6:9-11 fornicators and adulters will not inherit the kingdom of God. If you are married have all the sex you want before you preach, but if you are not don't have any sex ever until you are married. Are you a minister? You should know this already, you should know your scriptures already. Are you not a minister but just curious? You should know better also what not to be doing, study and show yourself approved whether you are a minister or not...
124 | Are we judged when we come to Jesus now? | 1 John 1:9 | Tamara Brewington | 203755
I John 2:1,2 says if we sin we have an advocate. The only sin that cannot be forgiven is to say that the works of Jesus done by the Holy Spirit were done by the spirit of the devil in Mark 3. God forgives the Prodigal son, don't worry, just believe and come on back, everyone will be glad in heaven and on earth in church that you came on back.
125 | what three books did Luke right | 2 Tim 3:16 | Tamara Brewington | 203754
Luke wrote two, Acts and Luke, not three.
126 | Researching a questionable verse | Matt 17:21 | Tamara Brewington | 203753
The translators were working with older manuscripts and later manuscripts. When the King James Bible was written they only had the later manuscripts, when the other translations got written in the past century they used the older manuscripts that got discovered after the King James was written in 1611 or so. There are altogether 5,300 Greek manuscripts, mostly fragments which are in bits and peices of the scriputres and what they did was to reconstruct accounts by trying to find the oldest ones with as many copies as possible saying the exact same thing. The originals don't exist any more, the manuscripts are all copies and copies of copies, but there are so many of them saying the same things that they are sure they are correct. What you should notice is whether or not the versions of the Bible that include the addtion have it in brackets, if it is in brackets that means that it was found in some manuscripts but not in others, but the translator used the best evidence to determine that it belongs.
127 | Matthew vs Mark | 2 Cor 4:3 | Tamara Brewington | 203752
In both accounts Jesus fulfills 350 prophecies from the Old Testament that came true about the place and exact time of His birth, about him being the deliverer and Immanuel (God is with us), about the miracles He preformed, about the circumstance of His death, burial, and resurrection. Mathew wrote about the coming of the kingdom of God in Jesus, Mark wrote about the diety of Jesus as God. Principle of interpretation; Each writer wrote to a different audience from a different point of view. Question, if you heard from two different people what happened at a party would they tell the same stories with the same details? No, niether do these writers. For instance take the end account where in Mathew, Mark, Luke and John; there are two angels and then one angel at the tomb, and there is one woman, two women and a bunch of women at the tomb, then the angel sat on the stone, there was one inside, there was one outside, there were two inside, and on and on. Principle of interpretation; just because only one angel is mentioned in one account and two in another does not mean there weren't two there, it means one writer was only interested in writing about the particular angel that spoke, and all the women were there, but the writer only mentioned the one who was spoken to. You have to think carefuly to reconcile the different accounts but it can be done because scripture is inerrant and cannot contradict itself.
128 | How many churches did Paul establish | Acts 16:6 | Tamara Brewington | 203751
Every church he wrote to except the church at Roman. Just read the beginning and ending of each letter to see who he was writing to and where he was writing from. And check out Acts for a clue, there is Antioch there, but there is probably more, all we have is what what letter there are to go by, who really knows..
129 | Sin unto death | 1 John | Tamara Brewington | 203750
The only sin that cannot be forgiven is saying that Jesus did the work of the HOly Spirit by the spirit of the devil. Mark 3:23-29. All other sins including not believing in Jesus, including speaking against Jesus and God can be forgiven, but not speaking against the Holy Spirit...
130 | God Told Us To Follow Laws of Land | Rom 13:1 | Tamara Brewington | 203748

131 | Why so some people treat pastors poorly? | 1 Tim 5:19 | Tamara Brewington | 203747
I Timothy 5:17-19 is the scripture, but remember they are no more special than any other part of the body and they are to held accountable to the body of Christ they are in. I did not see where it says not to attack the man of God, but check out David and Saul in I Samuel 24 and how David was reluctant to reach out his hand to harm God's former anointed even though God said, go ahead kill him if you will...
132 | total prosperity | Rom 10:9 | Tamara Brewington | 203746
The Bible does not teach total prosperity, it teaches to remian unstained by the things of the world and not to love the things of the world... I John 2:15-18. Don't be fooled by the teachings of the Anti-Christ. See Luke 18:18-27 for a parable about a man and his money. Jesus and the Apostles taught that money is seen as evil and not good. Be careful of wolves in sheeps clothing trying to tell you to find scriptures to stand on and to "name and claim" the promises of God. The Bible is to be stood on, but the Bible is not something we access and then go tell God I have come to appropriate my promises, because if I say them it will move you to act. Beware of people who preach that God has no power to act until you speak His word into your life, your tongue does not have more power than His will, or He is not God. |

134 | Does God make Himself known to all men | Rom 1:19 | Tamara Brewington | 203744
There is General Revelation which is given to all men that God exists; Romans 1:18-32 and man is responsible to know that God exists becuase the very creation is man's witness that God exists, so if you are an Aborigine you are responsible to God for believing in Him and worshipping Him even if you never hear the gospel. Only problem is man is so depraved that every tribe that has only received General Revelation go worshipping false gods as described in Romans 1. Then there is Special Revelation, the manifestations of God recorded through out the whole Bible and the scriptures which everybody else did receive, but which most will reject too. No one is exempt from having been given a revelation of God. So He has come to every man and woman before they die, they just deny that He is.
135 | Deceived or not? | Bible general Archive 4 | Tamara Brewington | 203743
Bit of advice; when the Bible makes plain sense make no other sense or it becomes nonsense. When it comes to numbers the Bible has given so many exact prophecies using numbers that came true that it makes sense to take the Bible at it's word when it comes to numbers unless the prophet directly indicates that the numbers are allegorical. Consider, if God could make Jesus a man who is God come to earth which is the greatest miracle, then He could make the earth in six 24 hour days. I Thessalonians 4:13-17 and I Corinthians 15:50-57 tells us there will be a rapture and in Revelation after chapter 4 there is no more mention of any one from the church living on the earth, only unbelievers and then 144,000 Jews who start evangelising the message of the salvation of Jesus Christ to the world. And you don't see or hear of the church again until Revelation 19 when the raptured church comes back to earth with Jesus so He can rage war on the unbelievers and the Anti-Christ. You have to read the Bible to answer these questions you have and believe that it is the inerrant word of God without error. Want a good book on the Bible? Try John MacAruthur's Bible Commentary, google it... At christianbooks.com A literal interpretation of the Bible is leading towards the truth, a figurative interpretation of the Bible leads to false teachings. Get a Strong's Concordance of the Bible and start looking things up by searching for a key word, it will give you every passage on that word. Try www.blueletterbible, it will do the same thing... Try asking churches over the phone if they are Reformed, Liberal, Conservative, or Dispensational, the last two are your best bet in terms of accuracy in interpretations of the Bible.
136 | Can a fallen angel be in God's presence? | Job | Tamara Brewington | 203742
Yes Satan according to Daniel was a Cherubim who was cast down from heaven to earth. However, considering the body of scripture on this, Satan gets cast down from heaven forever, note forever in Revelation. According to that account in Job Satan was going to heaven after roaming the earth to speak to God. The New Testament says that Satan is our accuser in Revelation 12:10 and in the same verse he he is cast down out of heaven for the second time for ever. We don't know why God would allow Satan to go back and forth, but Ephesians describes the devil and his followers as being in the world forces of this darkness of the heavenly places. Satan stands in heaven daily accusing the brethren. I believe we have a clue in Job as to why God keeps on allowing it... Satan prowls around seeking whom to devour, he told God in Job that he had been roaming the earth and then God says, consider Job a righteous man... I believe God keeps allowing it in order to show the devil that God's people will not renounce him even if God allows the devil to mess with them trying to devour them.
137 | what is the realy massage of christ? | 1 Cor 15:3 | Tamara Brewington | 203741
The message that Christ proclaimed was repent of your sins for the kingdom of God is in your midst(meaning He was in their midst)and to belive that Jesus was God. Christ is a revelation of God's existence and that revelation was progressive starting with the prophecies of Him comming in the Old Testament and progressing to His advent on earth and then the revelation of Christ progressed after He was rejected and killed and then rose from the dead. Then the message of salvation progressed to that, Jesus is the Lord God, He died and rose again on the third day for our sins and if you believe this in your heart and confess it with your mouth, you will be saved, see Romans 10:9,10 to see what you have to do to be saved, which I stated here. All you have to do is repent and believe in Jesus and you are a Christian, there is nothing good you can do to earn salvation, by grace you are saved and that not of yourselves, you are saved by faith alone, by grace alone.
138 | who was the oldest man | Ps 90:10 | Tamara Brewington | 203740
Methueselah was the oldest man. Bit of advice, if God could send Jesus Christ as God and man, which is the ultimate miracle then there is no problem believing that men lived to be 900 years old and that their age then went down to 120 years as the Bible says; when the Bible makes plain sense seek no other sense or it becomes nonsene. Apply this to all numbers in the Bible except where the prophets are indicating that the numbers are allegorical. Creation was in six days, the Great Tribulation will take 7 years, the temple in heaven in Revelation has exact measurements as does the city of Jerusalem, you see the prophecies of the birth of Jesus said it would take exactly 400 years which it did and Israel was prophesied to go into captivity for 70 years which it did, and Israel was prophesied to go into captivity for 400 years which it did. Since every single prohecy in the Bible has come true so far and since every single prophecy with numbers has come true so far, then numbers are real and are not figurative, but literal.
139 | to get closer to god | Matt 6:6 | Tamara Brewington | 203738
Worship Him in your heart first and foremost, love the Lord your God with all your heart all your soul and all your mind. Believe Jesus is God with all your heart and that He brings you to the Father God, follow the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles and your soul will get purified, listen to Biblical teaching and preaching and study in order to get fed the pure milk of the word, praise God with songs He lives in your praises, fellowship with the body of Christ and love them as Christ loves you, pray for the relationship between you and God to grow. If you know Jesus as Lord, God bless you, if you don't, Jesus is Lord and He died and was risen on the third day, read Romans 10:9,10 to see what to do to get saved today.
140 | Is it a person or a thing that restrains | 2 Thess 2:6 | Tamara Brewington | 203737
This is the Holy Spirit doing the restraining. I can't find it right now, but in Revelation the Holy Spirit is removed from the earth at the beginning of the Great Tribulation and men become exceedingly evil and the Anti-Christ mentioned II Thessalonians 2:6 will have full power on the earth.
