John 12:43: "For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God," or Acts 5:29: "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." Maybe one of these is what you are looking for? Blessings, Janae |

106 | what does it mean to suffer loss? | 1 Cor 3:15 | Praise Be To God | 138521
Just another note on the carnal Christian. He is the one who walks in the flesh and not in the spirit. He desires the praise of men, rather than the praise of God. He is not a servant, but wants to be praised and waited on. Not a pretty sight. I don't understand how carnal Christians can be so. They surely must read the Word and know the truth. How can they act so? It is a puzzlement to me! Just a thought. Janae |

107 | Show Respect to Almighty God | 1 Cor 13:1 | Praise Be To God | 142035
We also need to show respect where respect is due. We don't need to bring God down to our level, we need to lift Him up and magnify Him. Janae |

108 | Show Respect to Almighty God | 1 Cor 13:1 | Praise Be To God | 142038
Dear Lionheart: You are right about the love aspect. I did not intend to sound harsh, and if I did, I apologize. It's just that I get so tired of seeing God's name "misspelled". We are supposedly all Christians here with at least some knowledge of the Bible. Janae |

109 | Church sound system "way too loud" | 1 Cor 13:1 | Praise Be To God | 148006
The only thing I can think of is to come later after the praise and worship time is over. But, there might still be more music after that, so he has no guarantee to be pain free. It seems to me that your friend has no other choice but to find another church, perhaps one with just organ or piano music. It is too bad, but sometimes these things just happen, and the only thing to do is to remove yourself from the situation. I hope this helps. Janae |

110 | Church sound system "way too loud" | 1 Cor 13:1 | Praise Be To God | 148052
Dear Kalos: One thing I want to mention which I thought was obvious, but I will mention it anyway. Lee needs to be praying about this. God can get the volume turned down permanently and prayer moves the hand of God. The church needs to be aware that Lee is suffering though. Perhaps he is not the only one. Perhaps many others have also mentioned it and something will be done. That must be tried first. God bless you. Janae |

111 | matt. 3 ;from verse 6 down | 1 Cor 13:8 | Praise Be To God | 133029
Luke 12:49-50 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! I have always been taught that the Holy Spirit was a "fire". In fact, some denominations depict the Holy Spirit by a flame. Janae. |

That denomination is the Methodist Church. However, I am not a member of that denomination.
113 | I DIE EVERY DAY-Never read a Bible verse | 1 Cor 15:31 | Praise Be To God | 147711

114 | Satan is not here on earth did you know? | Eph 2:2 | Praise Be To God | 140752
Dear CDBJ: My Bible tells me that Satan's domain is on the earth: "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out." (John 12:31) "Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me." (John 14:30) "Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Ephesians 2:2) Janae |

115 | Satan is not here on earth did you know? | Eph 2:2 | Praise Be To God | 140814
Dear CDBJ: Thank you for your reply. I can see how you could get confused, if you do not read the verses carefully. What is the one phrase that each of these verses has in common? I'll tell you: "prince of this world" and "prince of the power of the air." Satan was cast down to the earth from heaven when he rebelled against God. In fact, a lot of people believe Satan's seat is in the Middle East, because the spirit of the antichrist is so strong there. It could even be Iraq. Janae |

117 | what is salvation and how does it work ? | Eph 2:8 | Praise Be To God | 146459
No, God won't take it back, but we can remove ourselves. I think this is one of those subjects where we are not supposed to get into a huge discussion about--once saved, always saved, or not. Janae |

118 | diff "baptized Holy Spirit" "filled Holy | Eph 5:18 | Praise Be To God | 132946
I would just like to add to the note from the commentary in my Bible, "The Full Life Study Bible," KJV, for Ephesians 5:18: Ephesians 5:18: FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT. Be "filled" (present passive imperative) carries the meaning in Greek of "repeatedly being filled." The spiritual life of the child of God must experience constant renewal by repeatedly being filled with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 3:14-19: "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." Ephesians 4:22-24: "That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;" Romans 12:2: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (1) The Christian is to be baptized in the Holy Spirit after conversion, (Acts 1:5: "For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence." and Acts 2:4: And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.") yet he is to be filled with the Holy Spirit repeatedly for worship, service, and witness. (2) One experiences repeated fillings with the Holy Spirit by maintaining a living faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:5: "He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law; or by the hearing of faith?"), being filled with God's Word (Colossians 3:16: "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."), praying, giving thanks and singing to the Lord (Ephesians 5:19-20: "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;"; I Corinthians 14:15: "What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also."), serving others (Ephesians 5:21: "Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God") and doing what the Holy Spirit desires (Ephesians 4:30: "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption"; Rom 8:1-14; Gal. 5:16; I Thes. 5:19) (3) Several results of being filled with the Holy Spirit are noted here (a) speaking with joy to God in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19), (b) giving thanks (Ephesians 5:20: "Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ", and (c) submitting to one another (Ephesians 5:21). Thank you. Janae |

120 | N.T. circumcision? | Col 2:12 | Praise Be To God | 131780
BradK, Thank you for your comments. Yes, I agree, from what I have said, it appears I was talking about sanctification. I can only tell you what happened to me personally. The day after we prayed that I would receive the circumcision of my heart from God, I was prompted by God to ask forgiveness from someone I work with for something I did not even realize was wrong! But, God spoke to me two different times that day telling me that patience is a virtue. I knew exactly what He was talking about and I immediately apologized to my workmate for being impatient with her. Then, that night, God spoke to me further and told me that I had made a good start, but what He really wanted was for me to ask her forgiveness, which I did the next day. All of this was a result of the prayer for circumcision of my heart. The work was being carried out. I am trying to be holy. It is like sanctification, I will admit, but it is even more than that, because we are all being sanctified. But this is more, it is cutting deep and cutting away at things in my heart which I do not even know are in my heart. I don't know how else to explain it. There's more, which I will tell you, if you want to hear it, and all of it began as a direct result of that prayer. (1) I Corinthians 12:13 is talking about the Body of Christ. (2) What a beautiful verse that is! And yes, that is exactly what I feel is happening. (3) Philippians 3:3 is another beautiful description of what it is to be a Believer. It says we are the circumcision--how beautiful God's Word is! Thank you for bringing these scriptures to my attention. You have made my day most blessed. |
