Kalos, I appreciate you going to all the trouble of getting these articles which talk about God "always" healing, but I did not say that God always heals. I said healing is AVAILABLE through Christ's atonement. Just because some doctor says that there is no physical healing in the atonement, that does not mean that he is right. I know differently. God reached down and healed me! I am not making it up. Love in Christ, Janae. |

Dear Kalos, Praise Be To God! Yes, He is the Healer, PRAISE HIS NAME! But why do you put forth articles to the contrary? Janae. |

Dear EdB: See, here is where we differ, also. For I believe that one can lose his salvation. Not that God would take it away, but that one can pull himself away from God and lose his salvation. Salvation is provided for in the atonement, but it can be lost. I know you believe "once saved, always saved," but I do not believe that. Matthew 7:21-23 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 19:16-26 16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. 23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Mark 9:42-48 (Jesus, talking to the Disciples) 42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. 43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. Luke 6:46-49 46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great. I have many more scriptures to show that salvation can be lost. Maybe we had better agree to disagree. Janae. |

I apologize for lumping everybody in together and thinking you all believe "once saved, always saved." You say healing is a gift. Salvation is a gift, too. Sickness and disease are consequences of the fall. The provision of Christ's atonement was complete and adequate for redeeming the whole person--spirit, soul, and body. I do not see how claiming physical healing was provided for at the Cross is adding to scripture. Please explain. Thank you. Janae. |

(1)Isaiah 53:4, 5; Matthew 8:16,17 and James 5:14-16, show that physical healing for ANY generation is provided at the cross. I was prayed for and God healed me--I didn't just "claim" I was healed. Claiming my healing means that I hold onto my healing and don't let Satan take it from me. A lot of times when people are healed, Satan will come and try to tell you that you are not healed, but by "claiming" your healing, you hold onto it and don't let Satan take it away from you.

Here is a direct quote from the Assemblies of God position paper: The Assemblies of God constitution in its Statement of Fundamental Truths, section 12, states: "Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers (Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8:16,17; James 5:14—16)." I rest my case. Janae. |

You are the one who brought the Assemblies of God into this; I just showed you a statement of what they actually believe. I am a member of the Assemblies of God Church, and I know quite well what they believe. It is all in the interpretation of God's Word, and I choose to believe that healing was atoned for at the cross, and I have given you scriptures to prove it. You choose not to believe it. That is your prerogative. Praise Be To God, Janae. |

70 | Why don't the "healers" visit Terri? | Is 53:5 | Praise Be To God | 147092
God can give someone the gift of healing--a special anointing for healing. Benny Hinn has that gift; two women from my church have that anointing, and when they pray for you, healing occurs. It is not THEM doing the healing, but God heals THROUGH THEM. I know, I have been healed of arthritis. I could not even walk. I was prayed for by a lady at church who prays for many and they are healed. Also, my friend in prison found a lump in his body, and the prison doctor found two lumps. I stood in for him while a lady named Margie prayed for the lumps to disappear. She told me after the prayer that she has "a special anointing for lumps and bumps". She has even felt them shrink under her hand as she prays. The next Sunday, I went forward in church for prayer for my friend again, that the lumps would disappear. The next week he was escorted to the doctor and had an MRI. There was nothing there. PRAISE AND GLORY BE TO GOD!!! GOD IS THE HEALER!!! These people who pray for us, they know that God is the healer. If they are genuine, they do not say they are doing the healing. They give all the credit and all the glory to God. PRAISE HIS NAME!!! Janae |

72 | Can the Hubble measure the universe? | Jer 31:37 | Praise Be To God | 142048
I wish our country would spend more money on humanitarian issues, and less on space investigation. My OPINION is, we could travel forever and not reach the end of the universe, because it is expanding all the time. Man is so finite. He should not try to play God. It is not becoming. We were created to worship God. Look at how messed up we've become. All we need to know can be found between Genesis and Revelation. Janae |

73 | to serve god | Matthew | Praise Be To God | 136838
Al, I have been reading your posts these past few days, and I would like to comment on your answer. I am not demeaning the sacrifice of those persons who live in this way, but were not the Pharisees the same? They were more "religious" than any other group, (and in fact, Paul was probably a Pharisee before his Damascus Road experience), but we are saved not by our works, but by faith ("For by grace are ye saved though faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8). The question is this: Do we have a personal relationship with Jesus? Yes, we are to pray to God, we are commanded to pray, God wants us to communicate with Him and to have a personal relationship with Him, but I do not believe He wants us to spend our entire life in this manner. "For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." (Psalm 51:16-17). To serve God is to serve man. We must go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature; we must let love be our banner as we live a life that is pleasing to God, as we live it out before our fellow man. "But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased." (Hebrews 13:16) I do not believe God is pleased with those who hide themselves away, sacrificing their lives for prayers and oblations unto God. "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal." (I Corinthians 13:1). I believe God wants us to live life abundantly--and to show forth his love to all mankind. That is to serve God. "Even so faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works." James 2:17 and 18. Thank you. Because of Him, Janae |

74 | Can unbelievers pray to God? | Matt 5:45 | Praise Be To God | 133180
Thank you for your response. I would like to point out that, while unbelievers may get houses and cars all the time, this particular instance, the unbeliever was me, and I know in my heart of hearts that God had answered my prayer, and that we got that house by no other means than by God's hand. It was a tremendous witness to me at the time, and I will never forget it. That He took the time to hear me and was concerned about my wellbeing--and the wellbeing of my young family--which, of course, He is! He gave His Son to die for the sinners! Personally, I think the scripture I have given, is a good scriptural example for this. But, I also hope to see even more examples from others. God bless you. Janae. |

76 | Man or man? | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141467
Hi, BradK, Yes, that is what I was saying. He had to live a perfect sinless life as a man and go to the cross for us as a man. God cannot look at sin. When Jesus was on the cross, He took all of our sins, past, present and future, upon himself. Janae |
||||||
77 | Man or man? | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141476
Then how could God have taken all the sins of the world upon himself, if He cannot look upon sin? Janae |

78 | Man or man? | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141490
Consider Romans 8:3: "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:" We are reconciled to God through the Blood of Jesus. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, ever interceding for us, because God cannot look upon sin. That is why Jesus said on the cross, "And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Janae |
